Union Minister Kishan accuses Revanth of insulting PM Modi, armed forces
HYDERABAD: Union Coal & Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday slammed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for making 'insulting' remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Operation Sindoor, alleging that those comments were demoralising to the Indian armed forces. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Kishan Reddy accused the Congress of politicising national security. Kishan, who is also the president of Telangana unit of BJP, said the Congress has turned its Jai Hind Yatra into a 'political' programme and this is not new for that party to undermine the armed forces with such events. 'This is not the first time the Congress has insulted the Indian Army. They questioned the surgical strikes carried out in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Now, they are again making baseless statements that hurt the morale and self-confidence of our forces,' he said. Kishan also questioned the credibility of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. 'First, Rahul Gandhi should explain who handed over PoK to Pakistan. Congress is responsible for that and for the loss of countless lives over the years,' the Union minister said. Referring to doubts raised by Rahul on Operation Sindoor, Kishan said, 'It is shameful that Rahul is asking how many Rafale jets were lost instead of asking how many terrorists were killed. This shows his immaturity. He should recall the countless terror attacks and bomb blasts that occurred during the Congress regime.' 'Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Indian armed forces are giving fitting responses to terrorists and Pakistan,' he added.

For Sirisha too, it was the second marriage. The two were in love, had an intercaste marriage around a decade ago, and have two children, police said. Kishan's first wife died, leaving him with three children, while Sirisha's first husband divorced her. She met Kishan while travelling in his auto rickshaw, got acquainted with him, and later got married. As Naik belongs to the ST community, a case under sections related to murder and provisions under the SC & ST (Prevention of atrocities) Act were also slapped against Sirisha, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Vanasthalipuram, Kasi Reddy said. Police were also probing the role of Sirisha's parents, who stay nearby, and also her alleged partner in Kishan's murder. According to police, the couple have been staying separately for a year. Recently, after a compromise, they moved to a rented home at Vanasthalipuram. While Kishan visited her once a week from his native place in Yadadri Bhongir district, she stayed with their two children and was working as a security guard at a jewellery store. On Monday evening, Kishan went to her workplace and picked up a quarrel. Later at night also, he quarrelled with her and even assaulted her. In retaliation, she also hit him and pushed him to the wall. As he collapsed, she shifted him to hospital with her parents' help where he was declared dead, a police officer said.

Kishan shines as Hyderabad defeat Bengaluru
LUCKNOW: Sunrisers Hyderabad's Ishan Kishan ( R ) plays a shot as Royal Challengers Bengaluru's captain Jitesh Sharma watches during the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 cricket match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. – AFP LUCKNOW: Ishan Kishan top-scored with 94 not out as Sunrisers Hyderabad scripted a 42-run consolation win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League on Friday. Kishan hit seven fours and five sixes in his sparkling 48-ball knock to help Hyderabad post a formidable 231-6 off 20 overs in Lucknow. Bengaluru, who have already qualified for the playoffs, were bowled out for 189 off 19.5 overs in reply. The win helped restore some pride for Hyderabad who have been eliminated from the playoffs. 'It was probably one of the best wickets to bat on throughout the tournament,' said Hyderabad's Jaydev Unadkat. 'The message was to try and make things happen. Our bowlers were spot on.' Bengaluru started their chase positively with openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli laying a strong foundation. Kohli looked in supreme touch, hitting paceman Harshal Patel over deep extra cover for four and then following it up with another boundary over mid-off on the next ball. His 43-run innings was cut short when he holed out to Abhishek Sharma off left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey. He hit seven fours and a six in his 25-ball knock. After a cautious start, Salt (62) opened up to play some delectable shots and delight the crowds at the Ekana stadium. After Salt's departure, Bengaluru lost wickets in quick succession, including three in the space of five balls. Pat Cummins (3-28) and Eshan Malinga (2-37) impressed the most among Hyderabad bowlers. 'They played very well. I didn't have any answers for their attack,' said Bengaluru skipper Jitesh Sharma. 'We were rusty. The intensity was not there initially.' Earlier, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave Hyderabad a flying start, going after the bowlers with disdain after Bengaluru won the toss and put Hyderabad in to bat. But Bengaluru fought back, with Lungi Ngidi having Abhishek caught at backward square leg by Salt for 34. Abhishek smashed three fours and three sixes in his 17-ball knock. Head (17) was out soon after, with Hyderabad being reduced to 54-2 by the fifth over. Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen (24) then rebuilt the innings with a 48-run stand off 27 balls for the third wicket. A quickfire 26 off just nine balls by Aniket Verma provided momentum to Hyderabad innings but the day belonged to Kishan. The left-hander punished the lacklustre Bengaluru bowlers, as Hyderabad smashed 43 runs in the final three overs. — AFP
