Irish couples' favourite first dance song confirmed and it may surprise you
Loved-up Irish couples' favourite first dance song for weddings is Kodaline's The One, it's been revealed. A study by spoke with 12 wedding bands and asked what the top three tune newlyweds request are. Kodaline's The One received 16 per cent of the total vote, The Cranberries' Dreams got 11 per cent, while the third spot went to Frankie Valli's Can't Take My Eyes Off You. Kate Hyde, founder of revealed: "Every wedding is unique to the couple, but there are some first dance songs that are so perfect they reappear time and time again. "It's easy to see why these three songs are the most popular, too, and from the feedback we received, it was great to hear many couples like to get their guests involved in their first dance song." Bands also revealed couples are choosing shorter songs which kick in quicker, as some don't like to be the centre of attention for too long. They also revealed there's been a rise in couples hiring content creators in order to make their special day "go viral".

Kodaline star Steve Garrigan weds long time girlfriend Diana Bunici
The couple wed in Castle Leslie on Sunday The couple tied the knot in front of their family and friends at a lavish ceremony in Castle Leslie, Co Monaghan on Sunday. For the ceremony, the beautiful bride wore a beautiful high-neck halter dress with a long train and veil to match. Singer Steve opted for a formal black tuxedo with a white shirt and black dickie bow. In the evening, journalist Diana changed her look, and wore a second gown, a stunning lace number fit for a fairytale. During the reception, Kodaline frontman surprised his bride by performing an original song he wrote for her. The 36-year-old played guitar as he serenaded his wife in front of their guests. The couple's dogs, Charlie and Benny, were among attendees and even donned little tuxedos for their special appearance. A series of snaps shared to Instagram showcase the couple's special day. "A little bit of real-life magic, our wedding day 11.05.2025 @kodasteve,' a post reads. One snap shows the pair posing for fireworks after dark, while another shows them sun-drenched and smiling as they walked back up the aisle after the exchanged 'I dos'. Messages of congratulations rolled in from friends and fans, with Boyzone singer Ronan Keating sharing: "Congratulations guys.' "We're so excited to have all the people we love together in one room and to treat them to a gorgeous day. We have one or two surprises up our sleeve for them! We'll honour my Moldovan background too,' Diana told EVOKE ahead of the big day. "We fell in love with our venue when we were guests at my friend's wedding in 2022. "It's surrounded by lush nature and a glittering lake, and it took our breath away from the moment we set foot on the grounds,' she added.
