Ramayana Fact Check: Vivek Oberoi joins Ranbir Kapoor and Yash's film, NO Anil Kapoor and Vikrant Massey
The Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer Ramayana is among the most awaited Indian movies right now. Billed on a huge production cost, the film has an ensemble star cast which includes some of the immensely talented actors from across the nation. As per the media reports, the star cast has gone bigger with new entrants. Known for his brilliant acting skills in Company, Omkara, Krrish 3, and others, Vivek Oberoi has been roped in to play a crucial role in the film. Reportedly, the actor will be seen donning the character of Vidyutjihva, a demon prince from the daitya clan and the husband of Surpanakha, played by Rakul Preet Singh. His character is expected to have a battleground clash with demon king Ravana, being played by Yash. Contrary to the other media reports, neither Anil Kapoor nor Vikrant Massey has joined the mega starcast. They were rumored to be playing the roles of King Janaka and Prince Meghnad in the movie. However, a source close to the development has rubbished the reports. For the unversed, Ramayana is currently being shot on a lavish scale under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari. The movie features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Apart from the lead star cast, the movie has a strong ensemble which includes Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, Lara Dutta, Amitabh Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. It will be a two-part big-screen cinematic experience. While Ramayan Part One is locked to release on Diwali 2026, Part Two will arrive on Diwali 2027. Interestingly, both parts are currently in production and are being shot simultaneously, in one go. Bankrolled by Namit Malhotra and Yash, the mythology epic drama has a budget of around USD 1000 million (Rs 835 crore), which makes it the costliest film of Indian cinema. Interestingly, this staggering figure is allotted only for the first part. The makers are planning to go global with this epic Indian story and are in talks with a Hollywood studio, Warner Bros. Pictures, to team up for its overseas distribution. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD What Aamir Khan said I've never spoken about this until today. Maybe this is the first time I'm saying it. And the reason is that many years have passed. And secondly, the person I'm going to talk about has already spoken about this publicly. So now I can talk about it openly. I'm talking about Junaid – my son Junaid. t's been 17–18 years since that film was released, and I've never said this until now: Junaid is dyslexic. So when I first heard the story (of Taare Zameen Par), it hit me so hard – because I've been through it myself. I was like Nandkishore Awasthi in the beginning (the father from Taare Zameen Par). I used to scold Junaid. What is dyslexia? This is a learning disorder characterized by difficulty reading. Dyslexia occurs in children with normal vision and intelligence. Symptoms include late talking, learning new words slowly, a delay in learning to read and delayed speech. Actors who have this disease Shekhar Kapur: The filmmaker once said, 'Lessons of Life: I'm completely dyslexic. And finding more and more artists, poets musicians suffer from dyslexia too. Are you? Sunaina Roshan On Co-Producing Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 4: "I Don't Want To Get Back To It"
New Delhi: This year marked 25 years of Hrithik Roshan at the movies, it seemed like a good time to expand his horizons in the business. Earlier in March, Rakesh Roshan surprised fans when he announced that after directing Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish, and Krrish 3, he is all set to pass on the torch to Hrithik Roshan now, who will be directing Krrish 4. The film will reportedly see previous cast members Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Rekha, and Preity Zinta return, while new members Nora Fatehi and Naseeruddin Shah will also join the new cast. In a recent conversation with News18, Hrithik's sister Sunaina Roshan also expressed her joy for her brother's directorial debut. She said, "I'm not a part of the film but I'm very excited about Krrish 4 because it's going to be my brother's directorial debut. He told me and my mom about it just one day before the announcement came out in the press. I remember crying and crying." She added, "I cried, thinking that he's now taking my father's legacy of direction ahead. My dad was also in tears. It was so overwhelming for me that my kid brother is now turning into a director. I know that he'll do a fabulous job at it." The conversations then veered to whether Sunaina will be joining the crew as a producer, as she has previously produced a few films under her father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan's banner. Reacting to the same, Sunaina Roshan said, "I don't want to get back to producing films. When I was working with Dad, I did so because I had nothing to do at home and I wanted to get busy. Now that I know what I've to do, I'm not going back to that office. I don't even visit the sets of the films my brother is working on. But I used to be on the sets of Kites all the time because that was my first film as a co-producer. I find visiting a film set very boring (laughs)." Furthermore, she elaborated how she was very particular on her dad's film sets, and that she should not be treated differently. She emphasized how she has maintained that mindset throughout her career. Sunaina said, "I was a co-producer and an assistant director to my dad on Krrish. I loved that experience. I had a lot of fun on the sets because I'm a very people person. When I worked with Dad, I always used to tell my colleagues to treat me as a peer and not as Rakesh Roshan's daughter and that I was there to work much like all of them. And I've maintained that throughout my working career with Dad. I eventually stopped co-producing because Dad stopped making movies. My last film was Kaabil."

Hrithik Roshan's Sister Sunaina To NOT Co-Produce Krrish: 'Don't Want To...'
Last Updated: Sunaina Roshan says that she always told her colleagues on the sets of Kites, Krrish and Kaabil to treat her like a peer and not as Rakesh Roshan's daughter. In March, Rakesh Roshan announced that after directing Krrish and Krrish 3, he's passing the mantle on to son Hrithik Roshan, who'll now be stepping into the director's shoes for the franchise's next instalment. Krrish 4 is currently in pre-production stage and set to start filming in early 2026. It will reportedly also star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Rekha, Preity G Zinta, Nora Fatehi and Naseeruddin Shah along with Hrithik. As fans look forward to it, Hrithik's sister Sunaina Roshan also says that she's eagerly waiting to see how he shines in his new role. 'I'm not a part of the film but I'm very excited about Krrish 4 because it's going to be my brother's directorial debut," she tells News18 Showsha exclusively. Recalling her reaction when Hrithik broke the news to the family, she says, 'He told me and my mom about it just one day before the announcement came out in the press. I remember crying and crying." Their father too couldn't hold back his tears. 'I cried, thinking that he's now taking my father's legacy of direction ahead. My dad was also in tears. It was so overwhelming for me that my kid brother is now turning a director. I know that he'll do a fabulous job at it," Sunaina shares. But Sunaina, who had earlier co-produced a bunch of films under her father's banner, won't be doing the same for Krrish 4. Talking about it, she remarks, 'I don't want to get back to producing films. When I was working with dad, I did so because I had nothing to do at home and I wanted to get busy. Now that I know what I've to do, I'm not going back to that office. I don't even visit the sets of the films my brother is working on. But I used to be on the sets of Kites all time because that was my first film as a co-producer. I find visiting a film set very boring (laughs)." But the one thing Sunaina was very clear about even on the sets of Krazzy 4 was to not be treated differently. 'I was a co-producer and an assistant director to my dad on Krrish. I loved that experience. I had a lot of fun on the sets because I'm a very people's person. When I worked with dad, I always used to tell my colleagues to treat me as a peer and not as Rakesh Roshan's daughter and that I'm there to work much like all of them. And I've maintained that throughout my working career with dad. I eventually stopped co-producing because dad stopped making movies. My last film was Kaabil," she states. And was direction ever on the cards for her? 'Though I had been an assistant director, I couldn't ever think about turning a director myself. I could never! I believe that everyone has their own shortcomings and it's important to recognise them. I, for sure, knew that I couldn't be a director," she says with a laugh. First Published:
