LeBron James Calls Bubba Watson 'Ridiculous' But Not For Reason You Think

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. LeBron James is one of the latest to join the long list of stars from other sports who are passionate about golf. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has recently been showing off his swing, receiving no shortage of favorable reviews. Everything seems to indicate that James is not only hitting the links from time to time, but is also following professional golf. Apparently, last weekend he was watching LIV Golf UK, taking into account his reaction to his friend Bubba Watson's performance. The two-time Masters champion finished second at JCB Golf and Country Club, the best result of his LIV Golf career. Enough for "King James" to dedicate a post to the event on his Instagram stories. "You're ridiculous my friend!!" James posted. Bubba Watson's two eagles after two driver off the deck both times left LeBron James impressed. "You're ridiculous my friend," James wrote. — Kit Espina (@KeithEspino22) July 28, 2025 However, it seems that what really motivated James' congratulations were the two spectacular eagles made by Watson on the par-5 10th and 13th holes of the final round. In both cases, the Range Goats GC captain hit driver off the deck on his second shot and ended up holing the putt for a three. "It's not something I practice," Watson said about driving off the deck, according to the transcript of his post-third round press conference. "You don't practice it, right? I just do it. We had 300 plus to the hole on 10, 280 something to the front I think. So wasn't even -- I was just trying to get it over there where I could chip down to the bowl, right?" "I was like, man, that might have hit the downslope, and about that time, 30, 40 seconds later everybody starts cheering and I was like, must have hit the downslope." "Then to get it in the bowl is just I guess luck I'll say it. Then driver off the deck on 13 was a different shot. Like I was trying to fit that in there, but I don't go to the range and practice them. I never practice those until we're playing practice rounds and I need that shot or if I'm playing in a tournament." Watson added six birdies and four bogeys to his final-round card for a 65. He had carded 66 and 68 in the previous two rounds. The 46-year-old has seen a resurgence in his LIV Golf career this season, with three top-10 finishes. In his previous three seasons, he had only achieved one top-10 finish, at the 2023 Tulsa event (10th). More Golf: LIV Golf Doubles Down, Reportedly To Award Record-Breaking Purses In 2026

Bryson DeChambeau unimpressed by fan's comment at LIV Golf UK – 'Can't be saying that'

Bryson DeChambeau was unhappy with a member of the crowd during the final round of LIV Golf UK, as he finished a modest tied-11th in Uttoxeter behind runaway individual leader Joaquin Niemann Bryson DeChambeau was overheard moaning about a heckling spectator whilst departing the ninth hole at LIV Golf UK. DeChambeau finished the week at JCB Golf and Country Club tied for 11th on Sunday, as Joaquin Niemann claimed a fifth triumph of the season to solidify his position atop the individual rankings. ‌ JCB delivered yet another boisterous atmosphere, particularly during the weekend rounds. Whilst the golfers seemed to largely relish the atmosphere, one spectator appeared to cross the line in the view of two-time US Open winner DeChambeau. ‌ Footage that surfaced online captured DeChambeau grumbling as he left the ninth green at JCB, upset with a fan who heckled him to miss his putt, reports the Mirror US. ‌ "I love the banter up there," he told an official, before making his feelings known about one comment in particular. "But they can't be saying miss it. They can't be saying miss it, miss it, miss it." The ex- PGA Tour star's interactions with spectators weren't entirely negative in Uttoxeter after he received a warm welcome when arriving at the 14th party hole. Whilst he struggled to make a significant impact on the leaderboard, it proved a consistent week for DeChambeau, who continues to be one of LIV's leading names. A three-under-par 68 was succeeded by consecutive rounds of 69 on the second and third days, as he concluded the tournament at seven-under, 10 strokes behind a commanding Niemann. The Chilean is in fine fettle this campaign, taking home five LIV Golf League titles, and fended off a spirited Bubba Watson by three strokes to win on Sunday while shooting a stellar final round 68. ‌ Despite his grievances, DeChambeau has previously embraced the LIV atmosphere. One of the most raucous atmospheres emerged in Adelaide earlier this year, and the Crushers skipper expressed his desire to witness similar backing at additional fixtures throughout the calendar. "Certainly, this is one of the best LIV events if not the best LIV event on our schedule," he said earlier this year. "It's a joy coming back here with the fans and the people and the atmosphere. "This is what LIV Golf is about," he continued. "This is what we all thought it was going to be every single week, and it's going to get there. "We're going to work to continue to make that happen. But this is what we want every single week. So it's a lot of fun. It's a lot of fun playing out here." The following pair of standard LIV tournaments will witness DeChambeau's homecoming to the United States, featuring visits to Chicago and Indianapolis. This campaign will subsequently conclude at the Team Championship, with DeChambeau and Crushers aiming to reclaim the crown they secured in 2023.

Did Jon Rahm Cross Line With Outburst At LIV Golf UK Event?

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The dust had barely settled at the JCB Golf & Country Club when a new controversy stole the spotlight from Joaquin Niemann's fifth LIV Golf win of the season. Niemann clinched the 2025 LIV Golf UK title on Sunday, finishing at 17-under-par, three shots ahead of Bubba Watson. Niemann has been the most consistent winner of LIV Golf, but according to Rahm, he is underrated. "Nowadays in golf, due to various circumstances, I think Joaquin is severely underrated," Rahm told reporters after the 26-year-old pro's win on Sunday. But that was not the only debate through which Rahm raised discussions in the golf world again. (Photo by) More Getty Images A video surfaced shortly after the final round showing Rahm lashing out on the seventh tee at the JCB Golf & Country Club. After hitting a loose drive, the former Masters champion was visibly irritated. As he tried to regroup, a voice from the gallery called out, "Chin up, Jon, son!" And it boiled the blood inside Rahm. He turned and kicked a microphone placed on the tee box with his right boot. The moment, captured by @aidenward1998 and reposted by Nuclr Golf on X, quickly went viral and sparked a wave of backlash on social media. 🚨🥾🎙️ #WATCH — Jon Rahm was LIVID after his tee shot on the 7th hole found the rough at LIV Golf UK 😲 🗣️ 'Chin up Jon son!' (Via: aidenward1998/TT) — NUCLR GOLF (@NUCLRGOLF) July 28, 2025 This wasn't an isolated incident. Just two weeks earlier, during the Open Championship at Royal Portrush, Rahm snapped at a fan who whistled during his backswing on the par-4 11th hole. "Really? Whistling? Great timing. Right in my backswing. Very smart, whoever it was," Rahm said at the time. He later admitted the distraction wasn't as serious as he made it seem. "These things happen," he told reporters during his post-round conference at The Open. "It probably didn't affect me as much as I made it sound like." But fans aren't convinced. Rahm's latest outburst drew sharp criticism on X. Some fans even branded the LIV pro as "Childish." As per his performance in the latest LIV Golf event, Rahm finished T5 at 10-under-par. This helped his team, Legion XIII, secure the team title with a final score of 35-under, eight shots clear of Torque GC. But his individual performance was once again overshadowed by his temper. LIV Golf gathers momentum as unstoppable Niemann claims record fifth victory

As the 2025 LIV Golf season nears its dramatic conclusion, the once-controversial tour is showing signs of evolution, flourishing with growing viewership, star performances, and tightened team battles. With only two individual events remaining before the team finale in Michigan, the stakes have never been higher. Only Chicago (August 8–10) and Indianapolis (August 15–17) remain on the 14-event LIV schedule, before all 13 teams gear up for the season-ending LIV Golf Team Championship from August 22–24. Joaquin Niemann, playing for Torque GC, made headlines again last week with his record fifth win of the season at LIV Golf UK by JCB. The Chilean fired rounds of 65, 63, and 68 to finish 17-under-par, securing a three-shot victory and a hefty share of the $25 million purse. Bubba Watson (RangeGoats GC) showed a welcome return to form in second, while rising star Caleb Surratt (Legion XIII) took third, one stroke further back. How the Season Format Stands At each event, the top 24 players earn points. Those finishing the season inside the top 24 are guaranteed LIV Golf status for 2026, known as The Lock Zone. Currently, the last man in is Dustin Johnson (4Aces GC). Players ranked 25–48 fall into The Open Zone. They may retain their place in LIV Golf but are not guaranteed a team contract for next season. Notable names in this bracket include: Louis Oosthuizen (Stinger GC) – 28 Brooks Koepka (Smash GC) – 30 Lee Westwood (Majesticks GC) – 46 Henrik Stenson (Majesticks GC) – 47 Those placed 49th and below land in The Drop Zone, facing potential relegation unless they secure their spots through the LIV Promotions or other exemptions. Ian Poulter, a key figure in the Majesticks GC setup, currently sits in 51st. Niemann's dominance continues, leading the Individual Standings ahead of Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau. Team Competition Tightens In the Team Standings, Legion XIII—powered by consistent finishes—leads the two-time defending champions, Crushers GC, with Fireballs GC in third. The revamped 2025 format, requiring all four players' scores to count over all three days, has rewarded teams with depth and consistency. UAE-based players, Adrian Meronk (Cleeks GC) and Anirban Lahiri (Crushers GC), both look secure for 2026, placed 17th and 21st, respectively in the Individual Rankings. Their teams sit in 11th and 2nd, respectively. The Road Ahead: OWGR and Legitimacy The quest for Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) recognition remains ongoing. Transparent and credible promotion and relegation systems appear crucial to earning OWGR points. Many observers will be watching closely to see if adjustments are made to help LIV Golf achieve full status. The LIV Golf Promotions event—along with the Asian Tour's International Series—offers players a pathway into the league, ensuring fresh talent enters the system each season. As the season hurtles toward its climax, LIV Golf is no longer just an upstart disruptor. It's maturing, and with players like Niemann leading the charge, the story of 2025 is far from finished.
