Pascal Struijk: It was a tough session today
Leeds United's first-team squad are on a pre-season training camp in Germany and from the base, LUTV caught up with Pascal Struijk. The defender played 45 minutes against Manchester United at the weekend in a first run-out for the side since their return to training, and he is now looking forward to more work. 'It was a tough session today,' Pascal started, summing up day one. 'We did some top-up running, so I am a little bit leggy, but I mean, that is what pre-season is for! We work hard so that we are ready to go when the time is right.' There's some fresh faces in the team and now one of the more experienced players, who has played in the Premier League before, Struijk was asked about his new teammates. 'I'm going to say the group is really nice. Already from last year and then for new guys to join in, I think it's a pretty easy group to come in. Everybody is very welcoming and the guys as well, they are really good guys. 'I just try to treat everyone really the same. But of course, when they come over for the first time, I will try to give them a helping hand, tell them about Leeds and the city as well.' Finally, the challenge is clear for the team to get ready ahead of a big kick-off against Everton at Elland Road in August. 'I'm really excited to play again in the Premier League. I think for a lot of people, it is a childhood dream to play there. So for me, again, to play will be a big joy. 'I think the best thing we can do is go in there without any fear. You know, you see last year, it is not going to be easy. 'But I mean, with some of the experience that some of the lads have, then we can hopefully bring that onto the team.'

Ethan Ampadu's wild Leeds United celebrations as he leaks transfer news over megaphone The Welshman has since broken his silence following a long day and night on the beers. Ethan Ampadu was truly living in the moment, at one point he was dancing with a cone on his head (Image: LUTV ) Ethan Ampadu fully embraced Leeds United title celebrations over the bank holiday weekend and accidentally leaked transfer news in the process. The Whites were welcomed by 150,000 fans in the city centre of Leeds, with the 'Champions' buses carrying members of the title-winning outfit after sealing promotion back to the Premier League. With the microphone in hand, Wales international Ampadu began singing a song about defender Junior Firpo, who has been linked with a move back to Spain with Real Betis. "He came from Barca, he won the cup in Spain. He plays for Leeds now, he'll do the same again," began Ampadu as Leeds fans joined in. "He's f***ing magic and don't you f***ing know, his name is Junior, Junior Firpo." Of course, Firpo previously played for Barcelona before signing for Leeds in 2021, and prior to that - Betis. Article continues below However, while this may have suggested Firpo was staying at the newly-promoted side, Ampadu followed that up by repeatedly shouting "Real Betis". The left-back's contract is up next month at Elland Road, leaving many Leeds fans thinking Firpo is pretty much out the door. At every opportunity, an ecstatic Ampadu got hold of the microphone and got the chants going for supporters, who packed out the city centre streets. "Hang on a minute here. I will be honest, we are not flipping loud enough!" he exclaimed at one point. Content cannot be displayed without consent Ampadu was then interviewed by LUTV on the coach, being asked if he's ever seen anything like the Leeds crowds. Overwhelmed with joy and the occasion, a merry Ampadu replied: "Not really, but anyway..." before taking the microphone and chanting "Na, na, na, Leeds are going up, going up, Leeds are going up!" The 24-year-old Wales international was full of it all day in quite brilliant scenes, putting a traffic cone on his head and dancing on top of the bus, much to the delight of onlooking supporters. Perhaps the highlight moment from the celebrations occurred when Ampadu and striker Patrick Bamford sang Natasha Bedingfield's 'Unwritten' with fans and team-mates. This was a comical piece of, shall we say, 'housery', given that Bedingfield herself performed the song at Turf Moor following Burnley's promotion. It has become an unofficial Burnley track often played in their changing rooms following victories. Check out that specific clip below. Content cannot be displayed without consent Commenting underneath that video, in his first comments since the day of celebrations concluded, he said: "Ok I know I have a sore head right now. Me and Pat actually sang this song together in pre-season." Later that night, Ampadu could be seen in the bars around Leeds with a yellow bucket hat, backwards 'Champions' Leeds jersey and a Welsh flag draped around his waist.
