Inter Milan Seeking Clarity On Hakan Calhanoglu's Intentions Amidst Doubts Over Future
Inter Milan are keen to understand the plans and intentions of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, with the Turkish international heavily linked with a departure this summer. As reported in today's newspaper edition of Tuttosport, and via the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has received a proposal from Turkish club Fenerbahce. The Istanbul outfit, led by ex-Inter coach Jose Mourinho, have offered Calhanoglu a contract worth €6 million per season, plus bonuses, but their proposal to Inter of €20m falls short of what the Nerazzurri value him. With Inter unwilling to allow Calhanoglu to leave at that price, they wish to first understand what the 31-year-old intends to do, and if he remains committed to the project at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Calhanoglu has been linked with moves to both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray this summer, particularly after a public spat with Inter captain Lautaro Martinez. The midfielder joined from rivals Milan in 2021 and has helped Inter win one Serie A title and the Coppa Italia twice.

How Atalanta Star Will Fit New-Look Inter Milan Formation
Serie A runners-up Inter Milan are working around the clock to sign Atalanta star forward Ademola Lookman. According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nigerian fits perfectly into Cristian Chivu's new formation. Talks between Atalanta and Inter are ongoing after the Nerazzurri agreed personal terms with the player. Indeed, Ademola Lookman has accepted Inter's five-year contract offer worth €4.5 million net per season. Meanwhile, Atalanta rejected Inter's opening bid, deeming their €40m proposal insufficient. How Ademola Lookman Will Fit New-Look Inter Milan Set-Up Inter will likely stray away from Simone Inzaghi's trademark 3-5-2 set-up next term. Indeed, Chivu plans to make slight adjustments to Inzaghi's formation and switch to a 3-4-2-1. That would see Marcus Thuram drop back, leaving Lautaro Martinez as the only center-forward. Meanwhile, Lookman would likely slot next to the French star behind El Toro. Lookman's speed and one-on-one ability make him an ideal fit for the second line. Therefore, it allows him to exploit spaces and break defenses from the wing. Although Lookman's versatility enables him to play anywhere alongside the frontline, he's most comfortable on the left wing.

Turkey Star Ready To Go Again With Inter Milan After Chats With Coach & Captain
Hakan Calhanoglu is ready to go again with Inter Milan after chats with coach Cristian Chivu and captain Lautaro Martinez. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. This summer has not been without controversy for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. The 31-year-old had been strongly linked with Galatasaray for quite a few weeks. The Turkish champions had reportedly sounded out a move with the player, who was keen. However, Galatasaray have failed to convince Inter. They made the Nerazzurri an offer, it was nowhere near the asking price, and that appears to be the end of it. Calhanoglu Ready To Go Again With Inter After Chivu & Lautaro Chats Next week, Hakan Calhanoglu returns to training as Inter Milan kick off their preseason. The Turk will be one of the players to return early. As with players like Benjamin Pavard, Yann Bisseck, and Piotr Zielinski he was out with injury during the Club World Cup. Therefore, Calhanoglu will report to training from his vacation before the majority of the squad. There is the risk of the former AC Milan midfielder coming back under something of a dark cloud. That would be because of the tension that his highly public transfer saga caused with some of his teammates. Most notably when Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez all but called Calhanoglu out publicly. Speaking frankly after Inter's Club World Cup exit against Fluminense, the Argentine implored 'whoever wants to leave, leave.' But behind the scenes, Calhanoglu has already had a frank discussion with new Inter coach Cristian Chivu. Chivu faces one of the first real tests of his dressing room leadership with Calhanoglu. And so the 44-year-old has had a chat with the player, to clear the air and avoid a full-blown crisis. Calhanoglu, the Gazzetta report, has affirmed his commitment to the Inter project. He's ready to start work to find his place in a new-look midfield under Chivu. Meanwhile, Calhanoglu has also exchanged messages with Inter captain Martinez. This is the start of what Inter will obviously hope is a real reconciliation after their public spat.

Report – Inter Milan Building Six-Man Attacking Corps For Next Season
Inter Milan are targeting an attack of six players with the signing of Ademola Lookman this summer transfer window. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nigerian will help facilitate the transition to a 3-4-2-1 shape. Inter Milan are working to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. That has been the bombshell of the last couple days, and could redefine the Nerazzurri's summer transfer window. The big question is how this move will affect Inter's squad-building. Inter already have four out-and-out forwards in their squad next season – Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Francesco Pio Esposito. Inter Targeting Six-Player Attacking Core With Ademola Lookman Having five forwards might well be excessive if Inter are to play with just two strikers next season. However, new Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu has already flirted with the idea of switching to a 3-4-2-1 shape. And that is the kind of role that he sees for Lookman. The Nigerian is more suited to playing in a withdrawn role than as an out-and-out striker. Meanwhile, midfielder Davide Frattesi has always looked more comfortable in the final third than he has with his other duties in midfield. Therefore, he will play as an attacking midfielder under Chivu. Accordingly, Tuttosport report, Inter plan to go into next season with six attacking options. Martinez, Thuram, Bonny, Pio Esposito, Lookman, and Frattesi. Or else, if they miss out on Lookman, a player with a similar profile to the Atalanta forward. These six players would essentially cover three slots in attack.

New Inter Milan Manager Poised To Break Free Nerazzurri from Thu-La Dependence
New Inter Milan Manager Poised To Break Free Nerazzurri from Thu-La Dependence Cristian Chivu appears ready to lead Inter Milan into a new attacking era, moving beyond the team's reliance on an iconic partnership. According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Chivu wants to reduce Inter's dependence on Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. Advertisement Thuram and Lautaro had been the backbone of Nerazzurri's success during the Simone Inzaghi era. Indeed, they were the cornerstone of the 2023/24 Scudetto and last season's busted treble dream. Cristian Chivu Eager to Make Inter Milan Less Dependent on Thu-La Partnership UDINE, ITALY – SEPTEMBER 28: Lautaro Martinez celebrates scoring his second goal with teammates Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu during the Serie A match between Udinese and FC Internazionale at Stadio Friuli on September 28, 2024 in Udine, Italy. (Photo by) Despite an injury-hit season, Marcus Thuram remains an invaluable first-team asset. Needless to say, Lautaro Martinez has already reached a legendary status among the San Siro faithful. However, Inter cannot afford to rely on two players to shoulder the goalscoring burden. Therefore, Chivu plans on giving Francesco Pio Esposito a chance to prove his worth at the senior level. Advertisement After a sterling breakout season at Spezia, the 20-year-old looks ready to shine on the grandest stage. Then, there's Ange-Yoan Bonny. Inter spent a month chasing his signature, convinced that the ex-Parma striker could add quality to their frontline.
