I bought my son this new Air Up water tumbler for school — and he won't leave home without it
Like many parents or carers, I've had the ongoing battle to get my son to drink water on a daily basis. This is especially the case during a summer heatwave, when it's essential for him to keep hydrated. And after going through my fair share of some of the best water bottles to make plain-tasting water seem appealing and 'tasty,' it seemed like a mission impossible. That was until we discovered the brand new air up tumbler that has literally changed our lives. With its eye-catching design, it looks similar to the iconic Stanley tumbler, but it has a unique twist. The bottle comes with or without 'Scentaste', which is a flavored aroma pod that attaches to the top of the bottle's drinking straw. Once on, it releases a scent to create a perception of taste through smell, tricking the mind to think they're actually drinking flavored water. What's more, aroma pods eliminate the risk of harmful additives and sweet flavorings often found in the majority of tasty beverages. A genius idea for children, or even adults, to spruce up their water intake — and I was sold. This stylish drinks tumbler comes with a handle and is ideal for daily use and light to carry around. It comes with three, sweet 'flavor' pods that are sufficient for at least 4 gallons of water. It comes in three different sizes: 700ml, 890ml and 1200 ml, and up to five colors to suit your tastes. Apparently, it's all in the science. With each sip of water, scent is absorbed through the ear, nose, and throat that essentially tricks the brain into thinking you're tasting flavored water. But does it actually work? After opening our Lemonades pod selection (you can choose from 25+ flavors), the scents were noticeably strong. You then place a pod onto the base of the straw before filling your bottle with water — each pod is supposed to flavor 5-10 refills of water. Just note, these air up flavor pods are not to be refilled, washed or altered in any way. While I was skeptical at first, this 'hack' seemed to have convinced my son to happily drink water on a regular basis. He especially thinks it's 'cool' to swap out the sweet-smelling flavors, from Watermelon and Peach to Kola, to give it variety. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. In addition, its handle makes it ergonomic and lightweight to carry around, it comes with a leakproof lid and can easily fit into any backpack. It also comes with a double wall insulation that keeps water cold for up to 24 hours and is BPA, lead, and phthalate-free. Needless to say, my son won't leave home without it and insists on showing off his tumbler to his school friends. I'm just hoping the novelty doesn't wear off just yet, but so far, it's a win-win. The air up tumbler starts at $39.99 for a bottle and three pods and is available to buy on The flavor packs start at $7.99.

Forget Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino: a fast-food chain has a new version
Those of us raised in small towns, especially in the South, know that no matter how small our town may be, one specific fast-food drive-in chain can always be found nearby. This chain saw us grow up and witnessed all stages of our childhood, from being the it-spot for a snack break with teammates before any after-school activity to becoming the hangout spot for all the cool high-schoolers with a driver's license during lunch break. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Some may say this fast-food chain became a small-town staple due to the lack of options available nearby. However, its uniqueness and nostalgia make it stand out from competitors. This was a crème Frappuccino-based beverage made with milk, pink and sour blue powder, mango syrup, and blue drizzle. This drink was so colorful and crazy that it went viral on social media before being released for the public to taste. It gained even more fame afterward, which is why it is still remembered today. Causwells whips up Girl Scout cookie-inspired cocktails
Everyone argues over which Girl Scout cookie is the best. That conversation is a lot more fun if you're arguing over cocktails! Driving the news: Causwells in the Marina is offering a limited edition line-up of Girl Scout cookie-themed cocktails. There are six on the menu, including drinks inspired by Toast-Yays, Adventurefulls and Lemonades, Tagalongs, Samoas and Thin Mints. $1 from the sale of every cocktail goes to Girl Scout troops in Los Angeles affected by wildfires. My thought bubble: Thin Mint cookies are overrated. There, I said it! But the cocktail version was a fun, modern take on the grasshopper and came with its own matching cookie. What to try: Samoas and Lemonades are my favorite cookies and their cocktails were perfectly bright and summery. But my surprise favorite was the Tagalong. It had smoky notes of peanut butter-washed mezcal, tamarind and lime — sipping it, I felt like a Girl Scout who'd grown up to start her own Fortune 500 company.

Hankering for some Girl Scout cookies? Here's how to find them in Topeka area
It's Girl Scout Cookie season. This year's season kicked off earlier this month when Girl Scouts in northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri began taking cookie orders, said Gina Garvin, chief brand marketing officer for the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri. The cookies cost $6 per package for each of the nine available types, she said. This season's first cookies should arrive Friday in Topeka to be delivered to people who have placed orders for them, Garvin said. Those who want to buy cookies but don't know a Girl Scout may be connected with one by emailing cookies@ she said. Cookie booths will become available starting Friday at various sites in this area, Garvin said. Cookie sales will continue through March 9, she said. Troops may accept payment by cash, check, credit or debit card, PayPal or Venmo. Scouts taking cookie orders in Topeka include Michaela Nelson, of Girl Scout Troop 1356, a high school freshman who has sold Girl Scout cookies since she was in kindergarten. "It's fun, and I meet a lot of new people and learn how to do money management," she told The Capital-Journal. Nelson's enthusiasm for selling Girl Scout cookies is shared by Remmie Roberts-Athow, a second-grader and member of Girl Scout Troop No. 1960 who has been selling Girl Scout cookies for about two years. Nelson said her favorite among the cookies she sells are Lemonades, which are shortbread cookies with a tangy, lemon-flavored icing. Remmie said her favorite is the Toast-Yay!, a French toast-flavored cookie that's dipped in icing and shaped like toast. Among the Girl Scout cookies they sell, the Thin Mints are the most popular, Remmie and Nelson said. Thin Mints are crisp, chocolate wafers dipped in a mint chocolate coating. Thin Mints are the best-selling Girl Scout cookie nationwide, Garvin said. The Toast-Yay! will be retired after this year and replaced by a different flavor, Garvin said. Also being retired after this year are Girl Scouts S'mores cookies, which aren't available in this area. Six types of cookie are available here in addition to the Thin Mints, Lemonades and Toast-Yay! According to the website of Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri, those are the following: Peanut Butter Patties, crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolate coating. Peanut Butter Patties are the second-best selling Girl Scout cookie, Garvin said. Caramel deLites, crispy cookies with caramel, coconut and chocolate stripes. Caramel deLites are the third-best selling cookie, Garvin said. Adventurefuls, brownie-like cookies topped with caramel-flavored cream and a hint of sea salt. Peanut Butter Sandwiches, crispy and crunchy oatmeal cookies with peanut butter filling. Trefoils, which are shortbread cookies. Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies, gluten-free cookies featuring rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips and a hint of sea salt. Girl Scouts have sold cookies to raise money since 1917. All proceeds from Girl Scout cookie sales made here stay local, Garvin said. Those proceeds make up about 80% of the budget of Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri, she said. That organization covers 47 counties in those two states. Contact Tim Hrenchir at threnchir@ or 785-213-5934.
