In a new social media post, Lilian shared picture of herself holding a hard copy of her new book, and wrote: 'I moved homes, countries, changed languages and learned to live a completely different life… all for a man. 'I found myself feeling alien at times, inadequate, not good enough and never had a voice…I wrapped myself around him, loving and caring for him and his career. Then, my man died. 'All of the sudden everything I knew to be comfortable and familiar around collapsed. 'Same time with grieving for my loss, I had to find who I was. And I had to learn to dig deep and recall my strengths, my values, my voice… 'In this painful and transformative process, my voice appeared, at first shy and insecure. Then stronger. 'I wrote a book! Today I received my first hard copy and I'm proud of myself! It's a book about love, loss and resilience. My book! Yes I f***ing can!!!' Part of Lilian's journey has been learning to ride a motorcycle, something she didn't have to do before because Dave would always drive the bike. Recently sharing a picture of herself on a motorbike with a learner plate, Liliana revealed how she had taken steps to get on the roads on her motorbike Recently sharing a picture of herself on a motorbike with a learner plate, Liliana revealed how she had taken steps to get on the roads on her motorbike. She revealed she was taking her theory test, and said: 'Tomorrow is scary as I've got the motorbike theory test. Today I took on the road to see if I can do it. 'Well, it certainly doesn't come natural to me, I've got to work at it. Glad to report I'm still alive and safe. Can't wait to get my full licence, hopefully before Dave Day!' Before he died, she said that Dave had encouraged her to learn to drive a bike on her own among other things he had always done for her. Reflecting on his words, she said: 'When he said: Lil, you should learn how to ride a bike. I said: my love, I have you to do that. We enjoy sharing a bike together too much… 'When he said : you should follow recipes and cook nice food. I said: but my darling, you're cooking for me wonderful food… kitchen is your territory… 'When he said to me: Lil, you should get out there more, explore more on your own… I said: Dave, my life is wrapped around you, I love the experiences we have together and who I am with you… I don't need more. 'How right was he and how wrong was I…. Because when I lost him, I had to learn to do all of those things without him! And it hurts now that I did say no then… 'I'm telling you all these things because this has been a valuable lesson to me, and hopefully you feel inspired to: do, experience, live, love and enjoy everything for yourself, be daring and bold, don't hide behind someone else's dreams. 'Have your own dreams and fulfil them for yourself!' Lili first met the TV personality in 2005, while he was working on location in her native Romania. They became pen pals before establishing a romance, with Myers eventually becoming stepfather to her two children from a former relationship. The final motorbike he rode on The Hairy Bikers was recently sold for a huge five-figure sum, with the proceeds going to two charities. Lili Myers told how she wanted his final motorbike - which featured in the BBC's Hairy Bikers Go West - to go to a good home. The BSA Goldstar went under the hammer at the National Motorcycle Museum near Solihull and sold for a massive £15,800, with the proceedings going to two charities. Of the sale, Lilian told the BBC: 'That bike still has his DNA on it... I really really hope that the person who gets it, loves it.' 'I am really, really happy to see this bike being loved, and I'm sure the person who got it will love it as much as Dave did,' she added. The motorbike was sold to Si Harrison, who was friends with Dave, and the funds will be donated to NSPCC Childline and CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria. Harrison said buying the vehicle meant 'so much' to him and shared his plans to ride it on Dave Day, which sees the biking community gather to remember Myers. 'I couldn't think of a bike that I'd rather be on, and the idea of riding in Dave Day meant so much to me,' he said.

Grieving widow of Hairy Biker Dave Myers 'has fans in tears' with sad confession
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Over a year since TV chef Dave Myers, known from the Hairy Bikers and Strictly Come Dancing, sadly lost his fight with cancer in February 2024, his grief-stricken widow has moved social media users to tears with a heartfelt tribute. By posting a touching photograph on Facebook, Liliana Myers opened up about the emotional struggles she's endured following the death of her cherished spouse. She introspectively detailed how Dave's absence has necessitated substantial adjustments in her life and poignantly described her efforts to cope with such a devastating bereavement. Liliana reminisced about the guidance Dave once offered, penning: "When he said: 'Lil, you should learn how to ride a bike'. I said: 'My love, I have you to do that. We enjoy sharing a bike ride together too much.'". She continued: "When he said: 'You should follow recipes and cook nice food'. I said: 'But my darling, you're cooking for me wonderful food... kitchen is your territory.'". She also recalled their conversations about independence: "When he said to me: 'Lil, you should get out there more, explore more on your own.' I said: 'Dave, my life is wrapped around you, I love the experiences we have together and who I am with you... I don't need more.'", reports the Mirror. Finally, Liliana reflected on how she's had to confront the reality of doing everything without Dave, lamenting: "How right was he and how wrong was I because, when I lost him, I had to learn to do all of those things without him! And it hurts now that I did say no then. "I'm telling you all these things because this has been a valuable lesson to me, and hopefully you feel inspired to: do, experience, live, love and enjoy everything for yourself, be daring and bold, don't hide behind someone else's dreams. "Have your own dreams and fulfil them for yourself! This picture was taken in times of joy and happiness... a reminder of how life was before everything changed." Her open-hearted narrative resonated deeply, sparking waves of empathy and support from her admirers, with loads replying to her divulgence. Notably touched, several conceded that they were brought to tears by her stirring words. Offering a soothing sentiment, a fan expressed: "Keep moving forward knowing that Dave is watching over you, probably chuckling at your muck ups, but he's there. You have the love of 'the Bikers team' and the love of the nation too, always remember that. "It's hard, but you are moving forward and have accomplished so much. Remember to take time for you too, don't feel you have to be strong all the time. There will be times of despair and tears too - let it out. But we are all there for you, no matter what." Another wrote in response, sharing their emotional reaction: "Tears streaming down my face." Continuing the heartfelt tributes, a third added: "He's still with you when you're doing all of those things. So long as you're doing things with him in your heart and mind, you'll carry him with you forever." A fourth admirer shared: "Such a beautiful picture of you both. Also, a beautifully sad reminder of what happens in life. You are a wonderful advocate for everything your wonderful husband stood for." The poignant love story that unfolded for one half of The Hairy Bikers, Myers, started serendipitously in Romania where he was filming 'The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook' and became enchanted by the hotel employee who would later share his life. Their bond persisted over the long distances, and it was her journey to the UK which saw their camaraderie bloom into romance. His partner fondly remembered: "I was blown away by one tiny little thing. "He picked me up from the airport. It was about midnight and he opened the fridge and he said, 'What do you want me to cook for you?'". "I'd never ever in my life had a man cook for me. So that was the very first thing that just hit me. I was visiting as a friend, but from that moment on my heart just melted." After Myers' untimely passing at the age of 66, he is remembered for his infectious charisma and gastronomic fervour. In the wake of his departure, Liliana has been vocal about her profound loss, supported by an online community that has rallied to offer their heartfelt sympathies.

Beautiful French homeware: one couple and seven Provençal homes
The architect Alain Meylan and his wife, Liliana, an interior designer, didn't mean to move to Provence, let alone renovate a series of houses. In fact, Alain's style — modern and minimalist, with plenty of cantilevering and glass — would seem at odds with the Provençal vernacular. But they were seduced by the possibilities of restoring dilapidated, centuries-old buildings and turning them into their own light-filled iterations of the traditional 'mas' country house, then filling them with art and pieces by local artisans. It was their passion for riding that brought the couple to the Alpilles. Alain first bought a holiday home with stables near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. When a large neighbouring property and then a mill that was falling down came up for sale, they made an offer on each and to their surprise wound up buying both. 'Suddenly, instead of a weekend hobby we were looking at a life-changing project,' says Liliana, who for a while ran an interiors boutique. 'But it was too special to miss: the opportunity to work together on these ancient places, to give back their life and restore their souls. It was a dream.' They moved into their holiday home full time, and then opened the first property, Le Mas de Chabran, just before Covid, offering guests anything from B&B to complete hotel service. Today they have six properties, ranging from five to eight bedrooms, with two more coming in the next year. The latest, Le Mas de Castillone, is a 400-year-old former school turned into a ravishing seven-bedroom house in the village of Paradou, which has a picture-perfect boulangerie, a fromagerie and a bistro frequented by Hugh Grant as well as many well-heeled Parisian weekenders (the Avignon TGV station is 35 minutes away). The two-storey stone villa is reached through hand-wrought iron gates via a garden of lemons, figs and pomegranates with a towering plane tree in the centre. 'It takes ten people to link arms around the trunk,' Alain says. 'When we saw the tree we were sold.' The exterior of the house feels untouched, although the appearance is deceiving. 'We knocked down walls and we raised the ceilings,' Liliana says. Alain's Atelier K Geneva practice is now run by his son, who specialises in high-end contemporary spaces. He is unusual, his father says, 'in that he works from the inside out: rather than create a dramatic shell, he really thinks of what a house will be like to live in'; both 'want to avoid the limitations of the old [small windows, low ceilings, no air-con] without erasing the past'. The result here is at once dramatic and warm and inviting, characterised by original oak beams, wide stretches of glass, walls textured with clay plaster mixed with raw earth, and statement art. In the double-height living room — once a low, dirt-floor barn — are two striking paintings by the local artist Jules Milhau, both on the theme of 'Black Sarah', the patron saint of the Roma people, who lived in the nearby Camargue region. 'The pieces need to feel like part of a story,' Liliana says. 'It isn't just copy and paste.' The couple used antique doorways from India not merely because the new spaces needed really big doors; in the 16th century, this region of France traded cotton with India, Liliana explains, and the Indian patterns in the wood became common Provençal motifs. Plates on the wall, designed by the ceramicist Florence Bamberger, depict the great copper sculpture in the garden: a piece by Jean-Louis Toutain called Joy of Life that she found at a brocante in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. 'All the items are things I really love, so I find they all work together,' Liliana says. • Vive la renovation: how I transformed a French farmhouse The duo, who have designed 30 other houses for private clients in the region, also arrange studio visits to their featured artists, many of whom moved to the region during the pandemic. Guests can make their own ceramics with Florence Lucchini, who created the candleholders throughout the house. 'Part of our passion,' Liliana says, 'is bringing them to a wider stage.' She will also take guests to shop at her favourite brocantes, where they often leave with a suitcase full of finds. Although some purchase significantly more than that — three have bought fully furnished houses, which the couple rent out together with their own properties. As well as the houses, for those inclined towards wellness, there's a tennis court and a 19m infinity pool and, from May, a gym, sauna and steam room. There is also access to a private trainer, a marvellous facial masseur and a coach to help you conquer the vicious cycling tour up Mont Ventoux (with a backup van, just in case). For some of the guests, including Glastonbury headliners, the couple even fix helicopter day trips to St Tropez. But when you can go and have lunch in Eygalières — another town that looks like a film set, with a shuttered patisserie and an old man puttering past in a red open-top tractor — or have a private tour of the nearby Bamford-owned Château Léoube vineyards, why bother? • How a Provençal farmhouse became a local hotspot 'Often people make a lot of plans before they come, and then as soon as they get here they cancel them,' Liliana says. Lying in the hand-hammered copper roll-top bath while downstairs the private chef prepares a fireside dinner of sea bass carpaccio, to be served with champagne, I can see their point. Wife of late Dave Myers issues sad update about life without Hairy Biker
Dave Myers' wife Liliana Myers has shared an update with fans more than a year after the Hairy Biker star's death. She spoke about the "distressing" times she can experience The wife of the beloved Hairy Biker, Dave Myers, who sadly passed away, has given a heartfelt update on how life can be really "distressing". Dave Myers, famed as one half of the much-loved British TV duo Hairy Bikers alongside Si King, and known for his delightful stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, is fondly remembered more than a year after his death. His wife, Liliana Myers, shared an emotional post on Facebook about her ordeal with grief. She admits no day is ever the same after you've lost a loved one. In her candid message, Liliana talked about her personal journey through grief, acknowledging that everyone's experience of loss is unique and full of challenges. She penned: "Everybody goes through loss in their lives, it's in our human path, and dealing with it isn't a linear process. It's messy and distressing on many levels. "When you're facing loss, you have to reach deeper than your mind can go. You have to lean into love, faith, hope, meaning and purpose - and hold on to them like your life depends on it." Liliana continued: "Some days will feel almost unbearable; others a little lighter. Find what is meaningful for you and hold on to it, because that is what carries you forward. "Your responsibility to yourself is to find out who you are in relation to the world, what makes you unique and what gifts you have to give... and use that as a source of your work. "And if you can just keep moving - from one day to the next, and then the next - little by little, a new version of yourself will begin to emerge." The Hairy Bikers' culinary journey first kicked off with their Cookbook series, which was partly filmed in Romania. It was here that the late Dave Myers met his future wife, Liliana, who was working at a hotel he visited. Despite the distance, their connection remained strong and blossomed into romance when Liliana visited the UK. A touching moment from 2021 stood out in Liliana's memory, as she recalled: "I was blown away by one tiny little thing. "He picked me up from the airport. It was about midnight and he opened the fridge and he said 'what do you want me to cook for you?' I'd never ever in my life had a man cook for me. "So that was the very first thing that just hit me. I was visiting as a friend, but from that moment on my heart just melted." Since speaking out about her grief, Liliana has received an outpouring of support on social media. One fan replied: "You are doing well, sending love to you and all the family. I'm sure Dave is so proud of the way you are sharing your journey. It gives hope to so many." Another said: "Beautiful words written by a special, kind lady with a beautiful heart. Sending you love and huge hugs Liliana Myers. I hope you're doing OK." One touched follower responded: "Lovely words Liliana. One day at a time. Life goes on and we all deal with it as best we can. There is no right or wrong way." Meanwhile, another admirer chimed in with: "Thank you, I needed your words of wisdom today. You are a truly remarkable, warm-hearted lady. Bless you Liliana."

Last motorbike Dave Myers rode makes thousands for charity
The last motorbike Dave Myers rode has raised thousands for charities at auction. 'The Hairy Bikers' star died in February 2024 aged 66, following a two-year cancer battle, and the 2023 BSA Gold Star he used in his last series for the cooking and motorcycling TV show - which also starred Si King - sold for £15,800 after it went under the hammer at H+H Classics in Solihull, West Midlands. Money raised from the auction will be going to CancerCare, NSPCC Childline and The Institute of Cancer Research - all of which were "close to Dave's heart". Dave's 58-year-old wife and widow Liliana is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I'm delighted that Dave's bike has found a new home and raised proceeds for charities close to Dave's heart. "It's a special motorbike with some special memories, and I hope the new owner will love riding it as much as Dave did." According to BBC News, the motorbike - of which type was first produced in 1938 - was on display at the National Motorcycle Museum, alongside the late star's riding uniform. Jason Woodcock - the organiser of the annual Dave Day event, which began in 2024 and saw £127,000 be raised for charity by the biking community as they travelled from London to Barrow in memory of the TV presenter - hopes the motorbike's new owner will ride next to him at a future event. He told BBC News: "Whoever you are if you bought that bike, I expect you to be riding next to me on Dave Day." Liliana - who is a hypnotist - admitted in February 2025 that she still found Dave's loss "challenging and painful" - but she still feels him protecting her from above. Liliana - who has penned the book 'Dave and Me - Life With and Without My Hairy Biker' - told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Loss is hard. "Having to learn how to live with it is challenging and painful at times. "He's been with me every day all along this year, I could feel his presence very clear. "Some days I felt protected by an invisible force, other days I felt his hand on my shoulder. "I've been guided by him to do things I never thought I would do."
