Robinson praises Sels 'fantastic season'
Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson praised Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels. Sels was instrumental in Forest achieving European football for next season as he recorded 13 clean sheets during the campaign. The Belgian shot-stopper made 120 across the season, with only three goalkeepers making more. "The big compliment you can pay Matz Sels, I don't think he's technically one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League," Robinson said on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast. "But you look at another stat this season, which is what I like to look at, is the amount of saves he's made and the biggest stat I like, save to shot per cent ratio - that's how you can judge a goalkeeper. "Selz has won the Golden Glove, but he's also second in the number of saves he's made. So, he's not only relied on the brilliance of Milenkovic and Murillo in front of him and the defence being solid and the team being organised, he's had to make a number of saves to contribute to that. You've got to take your hat off to him, he's had a fantastic season."

Arsenal news: Lee Dixon on Paris St-Germain tie in Champions League
Former Arsenal and England full-back Lee Dixon, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast about the Gunners' Champions League semi-final against Paris St-Germain: "You don't get to finals, certainly in the Champions League, and not have a rough ride on the way there. This is probably the roughest they have got because PSG are an exceptional side. There are no weaknesses and they're in their home stadium. "Apart from the Arsenal fans, everyone is expecting PSG playing at home to get one or two goals and [that would mean] Arsenal have got to score three. But it might not be the case and they've got to cling on to that chance. "Playing against a team away from home sometimes works to your advantage. Mikel Arteta will be saying to them that they're capable of winning any game. And at least they know what they've got to do - they've got to win the game. "If it gets anywhere close to Tuesday's game [between Inter Milan and Barcelona], we're in for a treat." Listen to live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live from 20:00 BST

'It is still in Forest's hands'
[Getty Images] Former Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw told BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast that while fans will be disappointed to see their side dropping down the table, he believes Champions League qualification is still in their hands. "They are still sixth. There is only two points difference between [Forest and] Chelsea and Newcastle [in fifth and fourth, respectively]. "But when you have been in third for so long it is a little bit more disappointing when you see yourself start dropping and dropping. "Two weeks ago they were probably nailed on and now they are in sixth, so it is very difficult. "But I say it is in their hands because they have probably got the best fixtures out of the whole lot."

Forest v Chelsea could be an 'absolute cruncher of a game'
Forest v Chelsea could be an 'absolute cruncher of a game' [Getty Images] Former Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw says the Reds could be shaping up for "a cup final on the final day against Chelsea". Nuno Espirito Santo's side are in sixth, two points behind Enzo Maresca's fifth-placed Blues, after Monday's 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace. Forest host Leicester next weekend and then go to West Ham, before Chelsea visit the City Ground on 25 May. Meanwhile, the Blues travel to Newcastle and then face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. ADVERTISEMENT Advertisement "Ideally, you want to probably get two wins before that and that would put big pressure on Chelsea," Earnshaw told BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast on Tuesday. "Then you might only need a draw because I think seven points will do it. "That could be a cup final [against Chelsea at the City Ground] - whoever wins goes to the Champions League. On that final day, it could be an absolute cruncher of a game." Coincidentally, Forest played Chelsea in their final home game of last season, and it proved to be a humdinger. The two sides were locked at 1-1 going into the final 15 minutes, before Callum Hudson-Odoi put the hosts ahead. However, Chelsea countered with two goals in two minutes from Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson to claim all three points in a 3-2 win. Reds fans will be hoping history will not be repeated...

'Top, top players just work well anywhere'
Signing for Real Madrid will show Trent Alexander-Arnold he is "mentally strong", says Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. After months of speculation, it was confirmed on Monday the full-back will leave Liverpool at the end of his contract in the summer. Advertisement While there is no official news yet on where Alexander-Arnold will be playing next season, it is highly likely to be in Spain with La Liga giants Real Madrid. "He hasn't signed anything but he doesn't have to sign anything to be a Real Madrid player next, which he will be. There are opportunities to sign something private, and at some point there will be a picture of him with Florentino Perez," Balague told BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast. "Next thing for Real Madrid is negotiating something with Liverpool on him being able to finish his contract before 30 June so he can participate in the Club World Cup and be a Madrid player as soon as possible at the end of May. "He is a top, top player and top, top players just work well anywhere. Advertisement "It is an interesting situation because Dani Carvajal will come back from injury - in my eyes, he was the best right-back in the world, ahead of Trent - so what the next manager of Real Madrid will have to decide is how to use him. But there is no fear from anyone. "One of the things you get from signing for Real Madrid is the confirmation that mentally you are strong. You can deal with whatever comes your way. Trent will have to adapt but he will make himself important to Real Madrid, there is no doubt on that." Listen back on BBC Sounds
