A week back, Lok Sabha MP from Kanpur Ramesh Awasthi had written to the PMO, requesting Prime Minister Modi to meet the family of Shubham Dwivedi. Mr. Awasthi said in the letter that the family has 'thanked PM Modi for Operation Sindoor as it has brought peace to the soul of Shubham Dwivedi and has expressed desire to thank the prime minister for that.' Operation Sindoor was launched early May 7 in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. All subsequent retaliations to Pakistani offensives were carried out under this operation. Shubham Dwivedi, who got married on February 12 this year, was visiting Pahalgam with his wife and other family members when terrorists opened fire on tourists, resulting in his death.

'Muslims attacking Hindus': Malegaon blast accused Pragya Thakur on Pahalgam terror attack

BHOPAL: Known for her provocative remarks, 2008 Malegaon blast accused and former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur described the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack as 'an attack by Muslims on Hindus.' She made the remark while addressing a gathering during the 'Pratap Parakram Yatra' organised by the right-wing Hindu outfit Karni Sena Bharat to mark Maharana Pratap Jayanti in Indore on Thursday. 'The manner in which the terrorists killed innocents after ascertaining their religious identities and widowed our sisters, the attack should be called an attack by Muslims on Hindus,' the former Lok Sabha MP said. 'Whenever such attacks take place, then Hindus should also attack Muslims and Muslim terrorists,' she added. 'The situation today is similar to what was when Maharana Pratap bravely fought the Mughals. Similarly, the Mughals are still working at cutting us and our country. We'll have to stand for ourselves in such a situation.' 'All our great rulers, including Maharana Pratap, Shivaji Maharaj and Prithviraj Chauhan have shown us the way to never address enemies as bhai (brother). But now-a-days people don't address their own brothers as Bhai. They instead address the vidarmhis (those from other religious beliefs) as bhai. Keep this in mind that the day you stop calling them Bhai, you'll be safe,' Thakur said in the long speech. Thakur also praised the Indian Armed Forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Operation Sindoor. 'People asked why the war was stopped. Always remember war is fought among equals, an elephant never fights a dog,' she said. BJP MLA from Indore-2, Ramesh Mendola, was also present on stage at the event.

'Congress hand in glove with terrorist Pakistan': Nishikant Dubey alleges Manmohan Singh resumed talks after 26/11 under US pressure

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (File Image) NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday once again targeted Congress , accusing the UPA government under Manmohan Singh of resuming the talks with Pakistan after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack was under the United States' pressure. He made this claim on the basis of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement in the Lok Sabha where he was explaining why he held the meeting even after the terror attack. In a post shared on X, Dubey referred to the meeting between Manmohan Singh and Pakistan's then-Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, in July 2009. This was the first formal engagement between the two countries after the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, which left 180 people dead and over 300 injured. The BJP parliamentarian suggested that the discussions with Pakistan were premature and influenced by external pressures, particularly from the United States. He referenced several diplomatic engagements between Indian and Pakistani leaders throughout 2009. "Pakistan attacked Mumbai on 26 November 2008 180 people died and 300 were injured, the fire of the pyre has not even cooled down 1. Was the dialogue started in December under US pressure without attacking Pakistan or not, is this the statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Lok Sabha?" he said in a post on X. He asked whether after 1989, from 2005 to 2008, did the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan decide to exchange Kashmir, Sir Creek and Siachen 5 times or not? "Congress always made India a weak, helpless and powerless nation in front of Pakistan and got Indians killed," Dubey said. Addressing the 2011 terror incident, Dubey criticised Congress's approach towards Pakistan. "In 2011, Mumbai blast happened again in which 26 people died and 200 people were injured. PM Modi raised our head high by doing Operation Sindoor, after years Pakistan is in a state of panic. Congress is completely hand in glove with terrorist Pakistan. The public can go to hell," he remarked.
