Willoughby State Forest to expand equestrian access
MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – Vermont's Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation has announced a new amendment for Willoughby State Forest that will expand equestrian access.
This amendment made to the Willoughby State Forest Long-Range Management Plan will allow for equestrian use on roughly 14.5 miles of existing path, and introduce a new parking area.
This amendment was officially approved on February 10. According to a release from FPR, the plan was developed in part with the Vermont Horse Council 'to enhance equestrian opportunities while ensuring sustainable land management and recreation practices.'
