Lorraine overtakes This Morning in ITV ratings just months before show is ravaged by cuts as part of daytime telly bloodbath

Just as Lorraine Kelly 's beloved daytime show is about to be hit by savage cuts, her ratings have shot through the roof. Currently being presented by Christine Lampard, 46, during the holidays, the ITV show, which will soon be cut right down to half the amount of hours on air, has overtaken This Morning. This week, Lorraine's programme has been attracting around 260,000 daily viewers, while This Morning, which has been presented by Rochelle Humes and Dermot O'Leary, has been attracting around 200,000 viewers. Similarly last week, numbers for Lorraine averaged at 230,000, whereas This Morning had just 190,000. The new numbers come as bosses announced a major shakeup to their offering of shows, with GMB, Lorraine and This Morning booted from their existing studios next year. Lorraine and Loose Women face the brunt of the cuts, with GMB's programme to be merged with ITN, who produce ITV News. Meanwhile, Dermot O'Leary and Rochelle Humes (pictured) have taken over presenting duties for This Morning, standing in for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard From January 2026, Good Morning Britain (GMB) will be extended by half an hour to fill the gap, running from 6am to 9:30am daily. Lorraine, which currently runs for almost the entire year, will also only air for 30 weeks out of 52. Loose Women will remain in its current slot - 12:30pm to 1:30pm daily - but again, will be cut to 30 weeks of the year. This Morning, hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, is to remain in its 10am to 12:30pm slot on weekdays across the year. Susanna Reid, 54, who has hosted Good Morning Britain since its launch in 2014, will remain one of the show's main presenters. Sources say Richard Madeley, 69, and Ed Balls, 58, will stay hosting alongside Ms Reid, whilst Charlotte Hawkins, 50, will also stay along with Ranvir Singh, 47. However, it's understood there will be limited shows for Adil Ray, 51. Reports suggest ITV's daytime staff currently amount to about 450 employees in total, however up to 220 jobs are said to be at risk. Many viewers last week claimed to be 'switching off' from Lorraine – branding her 'cringey'. One episode saw her discussing Love Island to talk about a segment on the dangers online beauty filters. Another part of the show recently saw her interviewing UK rapper AJ Tracey. 'Lorraine is so cringey had to turn it off #lorraine,' one viewer commented on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another chimed in: 'This interview is just [vomit emoji] get rid of her ffs!' While others said: '#lorraine Kelly's days are numbered total fraudster.' During the holiday period, Christine Lampard stands in for Lorriane. Meanwhile Dermot, 52, and Rochelle, 36, stand in for Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shephard, 50. The new ratings come as it was revealed Lorraine Kelly has reportedly signed a major deal with ITV rival Channel 4 for a huge budget travel series. The announcement came as the year-round hour-long show was reduced to just 30 weeks of 30-minute slots from next year. MailOnline previously revealed Lorraine was given the chance by ITV bosses to merge her daytime show with GMB to present the last 30 minutes of their broadcast, but she declined. Last month, she was pulled into a meeting prior to the channel's budget cuts announcement where she was offered the new proposal, which was considered an 'easy fix' after the same format was adopted during the pandemic. Sources have revealed that Lorraine was 'insulted' by the suggestion and told bigwigs it wasn't a possibility, resulting in the reduced runtime of her show from an hour to 30 minutes. MailOnline understood that Lorraine, who has presented her show for the past 14 years, was prepared to 'walk away' but agreed to continue hosting the series until the end of 2026. The star is predicted to quit for good next year after a new role titled 'Head of Lorraine' was created to oversee the changes, but the contract is only for a 12-month period. Last month, ITV confirmed that ITN is taking over the output of Good Morning Britain while Lorraine and Loose Women will only air 30 weeks per year and are moving from Television Centre to a central London studio.

You couldn't plan that exit." ‌ Rock legend Ozzy s set to make his final journey through the city that made him when his body will be taken by hearse through the streets of Birmingham, giving fans a chance to say farewell before his private funeral. The cortege will begin its journey down Broad Street at approximately 1pm, passing through landmarks which honour the rock legend's life and career. ‌ Among the key stops will be the now-famous Black Sabbath Bridge, where fans have covered a bench with heartwarming tributes and heartfelt messages since news of his death. The hearse will be accompanied by a moving live performance from a Birmingham based brass band, as well as other local musicians. Additionally a tram named after Ozzy, which was unveiled in 2016, will be parked nearby outside the Birmingham Library as the procession moves through the city. Lulu makes desperate plea to Sharon Osbourne on live TV hours before Ozzy's funeral

Lulu begged Sharon Osbourne to get in touch with her during a live appearance on Lorraine on Wednesday morning, just hours ahead of Ozzy's funeral in Birmingham Lulu pleaded with Sharon Osbourne to get in touch with her during a live appearance on Lorraine just hours ahead of Ozzy Osbourne's funeral. ‌ The Black Sabbath icon died last week at the age of 76 following a number of health issues and his funeral procession will take place in his hometown of Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon. And when Shout! hitmaker Lulu, also 76, arrived on the ITV's morning chat show, she begged for either the rock star's widow or her assistant Melinda Varga to contact her. ‌ Standing alongside stand-in host Christine Lampard, she said: "I wanna say, Sharon, I know you won't be watching but if anyone is watching, Melinda, can you call me? I know they're busy but I want to get hold of you guys because I really, really want to be there to support Sharon." ‌ Just days before his death, Ozzy had appeared alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates to perform in what became his final concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, and Lulu, who began her own music career in the 1960s, added: "Unbelievable, you couldn't make it up. You couldn't plan that exit." The former Absolutely Fabulous star also noted that the 'last interesting' celebrity death to her was that of magician Tommy Cooper, who famously suffered a fatal heart attack whilst performing on live television in 1984. She said: "This was a long, long time ago, was Tommy Cooper, he was on [stage], chatting away, he's funny as hell and everyone's laughing. Then he pulls the curtain, says goodbye and he just drops. That's how I wanna go! I'm making this light, but, it' so sad." But Lulu's plea to Sharon did not go down entirely well with fans who had tuned in, with one writing on X: "Lulu asking Sharon to get in touch with her. Painful," whilst another said: "Lulu making it all about her. And Sharon's avoiding her calls lol". ‌ Ozzy died age 76 on Tuesday last week, with his private funeral taking place just over a week later. His family has decided to give fans one last chance to pay their respects to the legendary rocker as a special procession will head down Broad Street in his hometown of Birmingham. The procession will pass Black Sabbath bridge and bench, where floral tributes have been laid out for the music icon. Ozzy will be followed by his family in the special procession as they will be accompanied by a live brass band, Bostin' Brass. ‌ The procession is expected to take place from 1pm, with Broad Street closed to traffic from 7am. Ozzy's family are covering the costs, with the council helping with the road closure. The Price of Darkness was "desperate to come home" in recent years following his Parkinson's diagnosis, and Ozzy made it back to England before his death. The poignant message above the statement announcing his death read "Birmingham, England July 22, 2025" - revealing that Ozzy made it back home for one last time. He is survived by his wife Sharon and their children Jack, Aimee, Kelly as well as Jessica, Louis and Elliott from his first marriage. The family statement announcing his death read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love." We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." An air ambulance landed close to Ozzy's Buckinghamshire mansion at around 10:30am on Tuesday, and medics spent two hours attempting to save the Black Sabbath musician. A local resident said they became alarmed after noticing the helicopter in the quiet village and saw it landing close to Ozzy and Sharon's mansion. They told the MailOnline: "All of us were talking about it and wondering what had happened. We immediately feared it may be for him as he was known to be in fragile health. When we heard later that night that he had died it confirmed our worst fears."

Cat Deeley found moving back to the UK 'really hard' before split from Patrick Kielty

This Morning host Cat Deeley and her husband Patrick Kielty, who announced their separation today, moved back to the UK in 2020 after having lived in the US with their children Presenter Cat Deeley admitted that she found moving back to the UK with her husband Patrick Kielty and their two children "really hard". The former couple, who announced their separation this week, had lived in the US for years. ‌ Cat, 48, and Patrick, 54, relocated from Los Angeles to London in 2020, after having lived abroad for more than a decade. She later teased that she would be back stateside each summer for her role on So You Think You Can Dance. ‌ The former couple, who have been married since 2012, were said to have made the decision in part due to concerns over gun violence. Cat, who took over as host of This Morning after returning to the UK, has also said that other factors included wanting to be closer to family and friends. ‌ Speaking to the Sunday Times last year, Cat recalled them relocating after an incident saw Patrick and one of their kids ordered to take cover at a shopping mall. The outlet reported that there rumours of a shooter in the area but it turned out to be over a suspect package. Cat said in the interview that she found the experience to be "really scary". It was further stated at the time that she found their subsequent return to the UK, with its lack of sunshine, "really hard". Cat however said told the outlet that the Los Angeles she visits now is different from the place she first knew. ‌ She said: "It doesn't feel as safe as it used to be. There's an edge, which wasn't there before. The health system is failing miserably." Cat added that after the Covid pandemic there are "lots of vulnerable people" with "severe mental health issues" that have ended up falling "through the net". Speaking on ITV 's Lorraine in 2020, Cat said that the mall incident was the "catalyst" for returning to the UK. She however shared that the couple had "always" planned to live close to their families for the sake of their kids at some point. She said: "Our boys they've got grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins that they adore, and they adore them right back. For us, it was like, it's such a special moment in time and you don't get those times back again. So we had always thought we would bring them back here so they could know everybody in the family and friends." ‌ Cat and Patrick are thought to have been living separate lives lately, years on from their relocation. It's been speculated that their time apart due to conflicting schedules, with Patrick working in Ireland, for example, may have contributed to their break-up, which was announced today. The former couple shared the news in a joint statement to the PA news agency. Cat and the Late Late Show host Patrick said that there is "no other party involved" and that they will now co-parent their children after having split up. ‌ They said in the statement: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment." Cat and Patrick met while hosting the BBC 's Fame Academy in 2002. They are said to have been friends prior to developing a romance and went on to get married in 2012, after going public with their relationship the previous year.

Janet Street Porter reveals which Loose Women panellists are safe from ITV cuts as show faces biggest ever shake up

Producers have also decided to drop the live studio audience next year in a major shake up CUT LOOSE? Janet Street Porter reveals which Loose Women panellists are safe from ITV cuts as show faces biggest ever shake up JANET Street Porter has revealed which Loose Women panellists are safe amid ITV budget cuts. In May, The Sun revealed that the daytime show will return in 2026 with a reduced run of just 30 episodes. 3 Janet Street Porter has revealed which panellists are safe amid ITV budget cuts Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 3 The Sun revealed that show will return in 2026 with a reduced run of just 30 episodes Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 3 Janet said the 'older' panellists will be safe unlike younger newcomers Credit: Shutterstock Editorial It follows broader budget reductions across the channel, which also include halving Lorraine's airtime to 30 minutes and airing it only during school term times. Now long-term Loose Women panel member Janet, 78, has hinted that "older" members of the team are safe, but younger newcomers are likely to face the chop. "There are no plans to get rid of the older women despite of what some people have said," Janet insisted. "In fact, the reserve is true. "ITV actually put out a statement saying we are the valued members of the show because the audience totally relates to us." Janet, who joined the panel in 2011, continued to Bella Magazine: "I think Loose Women has become a programme that is trusted by a lot of women because we talk about the issues that they are concerned about - whether it's female health, domestic violence, or how politicians don't really understand working women. "I think the show has managed to connect women who wouldn't otherwise have a voice. "And it's delivered with a lot of laughs because we don't take ourselves too seriously." Last month it was revealed that producers had decided to drop the live studio audience next year as part of a series of cost-cutting changes to its daytime programming. However, the change has prompted concern among production staff and presenters, including Ruth Langsford, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Charlene White, who rely on audience reactions to shape the tone of the live discussions. Loose Women star admits she is 'absolutely devastated' and 'can't get over it' as her friend and co-star has been axed in brutal ITV cutbacks A source told MailOnline: "The panelists are really upset over the decision to axe the live studio audience from the show. "It's what sets the series apart from the rest of ITV daytime and now there are massive fears that viewers will switch off completely. "The only concern now is to cut costs and having a live studio audience can be expensive, with the added need for security and a warmup artist. "Presenters already know how it feels to broadcast the show without an audience because that's what happened during the pandemic, and they all know it creates low mood and lack of atmosphere." An ITV source told The Sun: "While there is a proposal to not have a studio audience for Loose Women from 2026, that doesn't necessarily mean that we'll never have a studio audience again, it just won't be in the same way as it is now. "At this stage we are still exploring new ways of working and producing the show when we move to a new studio next year." Last month, Kaye Adams broke her silence on the chaos at Loose Women, admitting she's had sleepless nights over the cuts. Speaking on her podcast, How To Be 60, Kaye said she felt as though 'the rug had been pulled' from underneath her. The 62-year-old confessed: 'It did come out of the blue. "I didn't anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life. "I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it's just like the rug's been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.' Kaye, who is one of Loose Women's main anchors, said: 'It's going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It's a huge change. 'But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good. 'The past is a trap, don't fear the future – I'm telling myself all these things. And maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I'll just have to go with it.' It has been rumoured that the pool of Loose Women panellists will be reduced as part of the cutbacks, which will be introduced from January. So far none of the hosts know if their livelihoods are at stake. It is not yet known whether younger panellists, such as former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood, 34, and influencer GK Barry, 25, will be favoured over veteran stars including Janet Street-Porter, 78, and Jane Moore, 63.
