Lotto: Perth woman in her 70s claims $4.2m slice of Saturday's $30m Megadraw jackpot
The West Aussie winner of Saturday's Megadraw has come forward to collect her slice of the $30 million jackpot, revealing how a 'funny feeling' prompted her to buy the lucky slip. At the eleventh hour, the woman in her 70s decided to go back to The Lucky Charm in Harrisdale and purchase a ticket for herself after she bought one earlier as a birthday gift for her adult son. 'There was something in the back of my mind telling me to go and buy another ticket,' the winner said. 'I managed to get to the newsagents in Harrisdale before it closed on Saturday and thought nothing more of it until I was shopping the next day and decided to check my ticket in-store. 'I was shocked when the girl in the store quietly told me I won, but I couldn't let myself believe it until I got to Lotterywest to verify the win. I don't think I slept a wink that night.' Overjoyed by the mammoth win, the woman from Perth's southeast plans to pay off her mortgage and set off on a holiday with her newfound fortune. Saturday's Lotto luck follows a tidy division one win in Monday night's Millionaire Medley game. The $1 million ticket was sold at Riverton Forum Lottery Kiosk, with the winner yet to claim their cash. Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the State's recent big wins come after a string of division one hauls this month. 'WA has celebrated eight division one prizes since the start of July and we hope to see that number grow following tonight's $20 million OZ Lotto draw,' she said. 'It's been absolutely freezing in Perth over the last few days so it's wonderful to hear heartwarming stories of Lotto wins changing the lives of West Aussies.' Punters will get the chance to be in the running for Tuesday's $20m Oz Lotto jackpot, with tickets available for purchase online or in-store until 6pm.

Lotto: West Aussie ticketholder among seven players to win share in Saturday's $30 million Megadraw
One lucky Sandgroper will be taking home a massive slice of Saturday's $30 million Megadraw. The fortunate punter is among seven division one winners who will each walk away with more than $4.2 million after matching six winning numbers. They truly were lucky, with the odds of winning division one in Saturday's game 8,145,060 to 1, according to Lotterywest. Up to a third of Aussie adults were expected to take a chance in Saturday's draw and it paid off for many players across the board. Luck rained down on another 118 players — including 21 West Aussies — who scored $11,463.35 with division two wins. A handy cash boost of $937.15 will be making its way to the pockets of 2,185 division three winners across the country. The winning numbers for draw #4593 were 17, 23, 40, 42, 44 and 2. The supps were 27 and 39. Saturday luck comes after one ticketholder from Queensland scooped Thursday's $30 million Powerball jackpot. When the retiree was contacted by an official from The Lott on Friday morning he had not even checked his tickets and was understandably stunned — given the biggest prize he'd ever previously won was an Easter basket. 'Holy sh**! Wow. Unbelievable!' he told them. 'Oh, my goodness. Words can't explain how I'm feeling right now. Dear, dear, dear.'

Lotto: Luckiest Saturday Lotto numbers of last forty years revealed ahead of $30 million mega draw on July 26
They may be drawn completely at random, but historic records held by Lotterywest reveal some Lotto numbers are in fact luckier than others. Ahead of this Saturday's $30 million Lotto Megadraw, many West Aussies will roll out the same sequence of sentimental digits they always have, whether fruitful in the past or not. But statistically speaking, it might just pay to study the trends instead of banking on your children's birthdays to make you an instant millionaire. Crunching the winning numbers from the past 40 years, from July 1985 to mid-this month, Lotterywest reports the number one itself has been the most frequently drawn, or luckiest, contributing to the winning set of numbers 417 times in that period. The next luckiest figures are eleven and eight, drawn 414 and 407 times, respectively. With a total of 45 numbers available for selection in the popular weekend game, 44 has been statistically the least reliable for players, drawn on just 329 occasions. This represents a 'luck' disparity of 26 per cent between the most and least frequently drawn numbers. And for some, perhaps motivation to rethink 'trusty' 44. See below for the full list of luckiest to least lucky Saturday Lotto numbers (inclusive of draws 413 to 4589). Many players use Playslips to select their preferred numbers, but most often, it's randomly generated figures at the point of sale that result in Division One wins. 'WA players often play using special numbers like meaningful dates, including birthdays or anniversaries, though winning numbers are entirely random,' a Lotterywest spokesperson told The Sunday Times. 'Slikpiks, where numbers are randomly generated by the terminal, are responsible for around 65 per cent of Division One wins across all games. The most popular Saturday Lotto ticket sold in WA is a Slikpik 12, which costs $11.40.' Since the beginning of 2025, 33 tickets sold in WA have resulted in a Division One Saturday Lotto prize. In May, a Warnbro couple planned an 'extra luxurious haircut for their beloved dog' after bagging a $1.2 million Saturday Lotto pay day from just a $6.65 Playslip. With a whopping $30 million on the table this weekend, Lotterywest advises pooling funds with family or friends in a syndicate to maximise the chances of raking in a life-changing haul.
