This Morning's Alison Hammond makes major career move as she is set to front new Channel 4 show by the creators of The Great British Bake Off
Alison Hammond is set to lead a new Channel 4 show made by the creators of The Great British Bake Off. The This Morning star, 50, already has a jam-packed schedule joining Dermot O'Leary on ITV, fronting her own programme Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, filming For The Love Of Dogs in Battersea, and hosting Bake Off. And the TV icon has now added another show to her long list, and will present Your Song, a new Channel 4 programme set to air in the summer, according to The Sun. Produced by Love Production - who are behind the Great British Bake Off, Alison will tour Britain in the six-part series to watch members of the public preform songs with special significance to them. An insider told The Sun: 'Alison was the natural choice to present this, with her warm personality and ability to catch unguarded moments with the singers, together with chatting to the crowds.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Your Song will feature people who love singing — they may have been singing for a long time but not necessarily in public or on a stage, you can expect some unexpected performances.' Alison said she is 'really excited' for the new series and gushed over the emotional 'power' of music and singing. 'I'm excited about this new show, about real people telling us their stories through song, let's hit the road,' she added. MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 for comment. Alison is also set to join the new series of the hit Channel 4 show Celebrity Gogglebox alongside her son Aidan, 19. Producers were left impressed with the mother-son duo after they recently fronted a BBC Two holiday show, Florida Unpacked. They will now be among the new star pairings to appear on Gogglebox to raise money for Stand Up For Cancer, with the release date yet to be confirmed. In her personal life, Alison also recently revealed her health and fitness regime after dropping 11-stone. The presenter decided to lose weight after the death of her mother Maria - who had raised concerns over Alison's pre-diabetic diagnosis. She then revealed how she managed to lose 11-stone without the assistance of weight-loss jabs, giving an insight into her exercise plan with her personal trainer. Alison, who weighed 28-stone at her heaviest, told Heat: 'I've got a personal trainer - she's amazing, she trains me when I can train. 'If I'm working, I don't train, I'll go for a walk. 'But when I'm at home, I'll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week.' She also revealed her approach to her diet, saying she hasn't cut anything out completely but focuses on 'moderation'. 'I don't deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation,' she added. Alison previously told how weight loss jabs weren't for her, opting against using them because she was 'frightened' of 'scary' stories surrounding them. She told Good Housekeeping UK: 'I think that, for people who need to use them, they're a good thing - but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened. 'So I haven't wanted to use them, but that's not to say I wouldn't in the future, and I certainly wouldn't look down on anyone who did.'

Prue Leith's Bake Off replacement asked not to be called ‘Lady Waldegrave'
Dame Prue Leith's aristocratic replacement as host of The Great British Bake Off's charity spin-off has asked not to be referred to as a 'lady'. Lady Caroline Waldegrave, former co-owner and managing director of Leiths School of Food And Wine, will join Paul Hollywood as a judge in The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4. She said: 'I was completely terrified. Then, when I turned up, I went to the shepherd's hut I was allotted and there were banners outside saying 'Welcome!' and flowers.' She added that the production company, Love Productions, and Mr Hollywood were 'just so kind and so friendly that I did relax'. Lady Waldegrave added that the 'mood is very light – there's a lot of laughter', and co-hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding were 'so nice to me'. 'Particularly Alison. I mean, she's so hugging that it was just magic,' she continued. Lady Waldegrave was told to follow the advice of the stylist by Dame Prue, which she was 'happy' to do as she is 'not interested in clothes'. '(Prue) also said: 'When you think something, say it. Be brave and say what you think',' the baker added. 'She is brave and says what she thinks and I think I got braver.' Mr Hollywood said Lady Waldegrave has the 'trump card from the off' as a lady following in the footsteps of Dame Prue and Dame Mary Berry. 'From an aristocracy point of view, she's beaten the other two,' he said. 'We were gonna call her lady, but she said: 'No, no, no! I don't want to be called lady.' He also said she was 'chatty and friendly', and they 'got on straight away'. Co-presenter Ms Hammond said: 'Prue was telling us how amazing she was, so we were really excited about meeting her and she was lovely – an absolute breath of fresh air,' and Lady Waldegrave felt 'quite organic' joining the team. 'She's not too strict, I don't think she's as strict as Paul, She's a really lovely lady and really passionate about baking,' the This Morning star added. 'Most of the jokes go over her head. She's quite innocent. I found that endearing. She's a lovely addition to the family.' Ms Hammond also said she 'taught her how to do a good selfie', and 'apart from that, she didn't need any help. She just fit right in'. The new series will feature: Chris and Rosie Ramsey, celebrity couple and podcast hosts; Kate Garraway, Good Morning Britain presenter; Meera Syal, actress and writer; Tommy Tiernan, Derry Girls star; and Roman Kemp, presenter of The One Show, amongst others.
