Streets in North Glasgow to close for BBC TV drama Mint
Preparation, filming, and clean-up for the eight-part series will take place in and around Adamswell Street, in Springburn, from Tuesday, May 27, until Thursday, May 29. It is understood that the filming is related to the BBC TV drama Mint, which is also being filmed in the city centre this week. The street will be closed between Ayr Street and Ringford Street from 3pm on May 27 until 8pm on May 29. READ MORE: How much does it cost to be dropped off or picked up at Glasgow Airport? Ringford Street will also be closed between Flemington Street from 3pm on May 28 until 8pm on May 29. Ayr Street, prior to Adamswell Street, will see restrictions from 9am until 9pm on May 29. Adamswell Street between Ayr Street and the end of the street to the east will also be closed over the same period. The restrictions will be in place "to facilitate a temporary restriction to allow filming to take place and for the safety of other road users and pedestrians." The BBC revealed casting information in March for Mint, a "darkly comic and unconventional drama" about a crime family's inner drama. The series is created, written and directed by Charlotte Regan, the acclaimed filmmaker behind award-winning movie Scrapper. It will star Loyle Carner, Emma Laird, Sam Riley, Laura Fraser, Lewis Gribben and Lindsay Duncan.

Loyle Carner announces 3Arena concert
Singer Loyle Carner has announced a concert at Dublin's 3Arena. The musician will play in Dublin on November 9th, 2025, with tickets going on sale on Friday, May 2nd, at 9am. Advertisement The gig is part of a newly announced global tour following his headline Glastonbury set, and features a four-night residency at London's O2 Academy Brixton. Carner also announced the release of his new album, hopefully !, which will come out on June 20th. The musician, writer, director, producer, entrepreneur and actor first emerged with his 2013 A Little Late EP, and has since found a signature blend of lyricism with genre-disruptive sounds. His debut album, Yesterday's Gone, was released in 2017 and untangled personal experiences of grief and the pressures of coming of age. His second album, 2019's Not Waving, But Drowning, was followed up by hugo in 2022, which secured his second Top 3 album. Album presale for Carner's 3Arena concert opens at 9am on April 30th, with MCD presale beginning on May 1st at 12pm and tickets available for general sale at 9am on May 2nd. Ticket prices are from €59.90-€69.90, subject to service charge.

Singer with over 1billion streams announced three Glasgow gigs
Loyle Carner will perform at the city's O2 Academy on November 12, 13, 14, 2025. The 30-year-old, from Lambeth in London, is known for his tunes such as Ottolenghi, Let It Go, All I Need, Damselfly, and Desoleil. The talented musician, writer, director, producer, entrepreneur, and actor first emerged in 2013 with his A Little Late EP. Since then, Loyle has been shortlisted for multiple awards, including two Mercury Prizes, BRIT awards, and NME accolades. The star has also amassed over 1.1billion streams across all of his songs.
