2 Indianapolis Colts' ranked among best college football players of the 2000s
2 Indianapolis Colts' ranked among best college football players of the 2000s One current and one former member of the Indianapolis Colts were named among the top 25 college football players of the 2000s by The Athletic. One current and one former member of the Indianapolis Colts were named among the top 25 college football players of the 2000s, a list that was put together by The Athletic's Bruce Feldman. In order to construct this list, Feldman reached out to "three dozen" coaches, TV analysts, and NFL scouts, asking who was the best collegiate player over the last 25 years. Coming in at No. 25 on that list for the Colts was current left guard Quenton Nelson, who played his college career at Notre Dame. Nelson was named an All-American during his final season, and over his three years as a starter, he was consistently one of PFF's highest graded guards as both a run blocker and as a pass protector during that span. In 2017, Notre Dame's 6.3 yards per rush average as a team was the third-highest mark in all of college football, and as Feldman noted, the Irish accomplished that without having a "star running back." The Colts made Nelson the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, and since then, he has provided stability to the Indianapolis offensive line unit, which includes making seven Pro Bowls, along with being a three-time All-Pro. The second Colts player to make an appearance on Feldman's list was quarterback Andrew Luck, who played at Stanford and was No. 12 on the list. Over Luck's final two seasons, he completed an impressive 71% of his passes, throwing for 6,855 yards with 69 touchdowns to just 18 interceptions. He was a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy twice, a winner of the Maxwell Award, and a winner of the Walter Camp award as well. 'The only time I can remember during my scouting career where they told me, 'This guy teaches the install on the first day of camp.' They just let him get up there and teach it,' said NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah, a former NFL scout. 'They give him multiple huddle calls and let him run the game at the line of scrimmage. He just had more intellectual power than anybody I've ever scouted.' The Colts took Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year in 2018. Luck would also lead the Colts to the playoffs in four seasons, including an AFC Championship appearance in 2014.

Kevin Liles Details Alleged $30M Extortion Plot From Rapper Lady Luck
Former Def Jam executive Kevin Liles has released a lengthy statement alleging rapper Lady Luck is attempting to extort him to the tune of $30M. The post, which can be found on Liles' official Instagram page, finds the music industry pro asserting that Luck, born Shanell Jones, and her legal team sent him a letter three weeks ago stating that she would move forward with a lawsuit and tell-all book 'riddled with utterly false and horrendous accusations' if he doesn't cough up $30M. According to Liles, the letter from Luck's team accuses him of 'grooming' her as a young artist, and of exposing himself and attempting to 'force' her into performing oral sex on him while she sat in the driver's seat of his car. 'None of this ever happened,' he states. 'Her threatened allegations are totally false. And they are contradicted by Ms. Jones many public statements about me and her experience at Def Jam.' 'Rather than pay her and her legal team, I am publicly addressing what I view to be an extortion attempt,' he added. Liles went on to detail signing Lady Luck in 1999 after hearing her rap on Hot 97. While he was able to secure her major features and opportunities, she was unable to become a 'household name' while on the label and asked to be released a 'few years later.' He then notes Luck's criminal history — including felony convictions for armed robbery and heroin distribution — before saying he continued to help her as recently as last year when she sought distribution for a new record. 'After connecting her with the former head of my distribution company, she did an interview stating that I was helping her with distribution, describing it as a 'full f**king circle moment.'' Liles continuously declared his 'empathy' for Luck, but added that he, 'will not be extorted, nor will I pay a dollar to those who threaten to ruin my reputation or the legacy I intend to leave the culture I've spent my life serving.' See his full post below. VIBE has reached out to a rep for Lady Luck for comment. Liles' statement comes three months after being sued — alongside Universal Music Group and Def Jam — for sexual assault by a former employee. He has denied all allegations. Jordan Luck Band rocks Gisborne, honours Smash Palace founder
Walsh played tracks including his Ekko Park hit Probable Cause — Ekko Park also features the Jordan Luck Band's Bryan Bell — as well as 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins, and fittingly, Heavenly Pop Hit by The Chills in honour of New Zealand Music Month. After Walsh's set, Luck took the stage, kicking things off with Social Life and Airway Spies from the Dance Exponents' first album, Prayers Be Answered, and the newer Can I Help You? from the Jordan Luck Band's Not Only ... But Also. Luck's extensive songbook was a major drawcard — I've been a fan since childhood in the 1990s. The crowd sang along to Who Loves Who The Most, with Luck dedicating the night to Monteith: 'Tonight, we love Darryl the most'. The band also paid homage to other Kiwi greats, covering Forever Tuesday Morning by 'evil rivals' The Mockers, April Sun in Cuba by Dragon, and Blue Lady, written by the late Graham Brazier of Hello Sailor — with the stage lights turning blue for the moment. Bell took the mic to perform his hit I Want to Know from his band, the Dead Flowers, sharing the story behind the song and his memories of Monteith. Of course, no Jordan Luck show would be complete without Victoria, the band's breakthrough hit, which Luck said he first played in Gisborne in the early 1980s while touring with the Screaming Meemees. Other fan favourites included Whatever Happened To Tracey and Why Does Love Do This To Me. 'Gisborne, we love you!' Luck shouted — and everyone there knew it was true. Till the next time, we're lucky enough to see them in Gisborne — I'll definitely be there. It was unforgettable seeing them at Smash Palace for the first time. As a long-time Kiwi music fan new to the area, this was a night to remember.
