Harumi Sushi and the flavor of a changing city
In many ways, the rebrand of Harumi Sushi from a modest joint with worn booths and long waits to a sleek, expansive space bustling with well-dressed youths is emblematic of the glow-up downtown Phoenix has had over the last decade-plus. State of play: A longtime Phoenician, I moved to Texas nearly three years ago, and on a recent visit, was ecstatic to visit one of my favorite Valley spots in its new, modern digs. The sushi at Harumi was just as fresh as I remember, and they still use their signature purple rice, said to be rich in antioxidants and nutrients. Best bites: We tried a smattering of menu items: The Hamachi sashimi ($16) was pillowy soft and full of flavor. The Ama Ebi Nigiri ($10) was delightfully sweet. We also had the salmon nigiri ($9) and the trio sampler ($22), tasting the Arizona (shrimp tempura, crab salad, cream cheese, avocado and cucumber), Las Vegas (salmon, cream cheese, crab salad and avocado, tempura-fried) and shrimp tempura rolls. Plus: They have fancy cocktails now! The Café Society ($18), Harumi's take on the espresso martini, is nutty and super smooth yet also pretty strong. The Lucky Cat ($16) felt like a creative take on a margarita, which you can't go wrong with.

Love Island's Gabby Allen and Casey O'Gorman put on a loved up display as they walk hand in hand before their romantic dinner date. The reality TV show winners were spotted on Saturday outside Gordon Ramsay 's Lucky Cat restaurant in Mayfair. Gabby, 33, was seen beaming at her boyfriend Casey, 28, as they entered the restaurant. The blonde bombshell wore a pair of white cropped jeans with a white zip-up top which showed off her ample cleavage, and donned a light blue denim jacket over the top. The sunshine meant Gabby was prepared with a pair of sunglasses atop her head and a pair of platform mule sandals. Meanwhile, Casey cut an equally stylish figure in a knitted brown jumper teamed with tan trousers and black trainers. The pair won the ITV show earlier this year and have grown from strength to strength as they made their relationship official. Gabby said on the Agree to Disagree podcast last week: 'He actually asked me weeks and weeks ago, we'd been out the villa about a month and I just thought I'm not even going to tell anyone. 'It's almost funnier that people are still giving me s**t about it! He literally asked me on a dog walk and a nice country pub and it was so nice there were no frills attached and it was perfect for what we wanted. 'I get why people want the elaborate stuff but this really from Case just really made it feel like it was real.' Casey appeared on his own podcast this week on Sophie Habboo and Melissa Tattam where he spoke about the pressures of asking her. Alluding to Ronnie Vint and Luca's proposals he said: 'It was all Ronnie this and that and Luca's done this I just thought f**k all of them - I'll do it my way. 'We didn't feel the need to make a post about it, that's no dig to anyone else that has done it we just didn't want it.' It comes after the pair shared a cheeky smooch as she celebrated him completing the London marathon on Sunday. Gabby showed up in support of her recently confirmed boyfriend as she waited at the side lines to motivate him with a kiss. Casey looked delighted to spot his girlfriend in the crowds as he ran over over to the barriers and embraced her in a public display of affection.

Writing over the video Elma penned: 'When he takes hours to reply…' She added in the caption: 'It's giving [red flag emoji] but here we are [shrugging shoulders, rolling eyes emoji].' Hundreds of fans liked one concerned message from a follower that asked: 'sammy???' while another followed up 'i will actually crash out if they end things [sic].' Elma and Sammy - who ended up in fifth place - have been questioned over their significant age gap, with some fans hinting their romance was more of a 'showmance' on screen. Gordon Ramsay's LA mansion swarmed by police after swatting hoax
Listen to article Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's Los Angeles home was surrounded by armed police this week after a hoax 911 call falsely reported gunfire at his Bel-Air mansion. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed officers responded to an emergency call at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday. An unidentified caller had alleged an active shooter situation at the property. However, upon arrival, police found no disturbance. Neighbours also confirmed that no unusual activity had occurred. Ramsay, 58, was not at home during the incident. Authorities are treating the call as a 'swatting' hoax — a dangerous prank where false reports are made to prompt a large police response. No arrests have been made so far, and an investigation has been launched. The Hell's Kitchen star joins a growing list of celebrities targeted by swatting attacks. In recent months, singer Nicki Minaj and in past years actors Tom Cruise, Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber have also been victims of similar pranks. Swatting incidents have occasionally led to tragic outcomes. In 2017, a man in Kansas was fatally shot by police after a false hostage report. This isn't the first time Ramsay has faced crime-related incidents. Earlier this year, nearly 500 ornaments were stolen from his London restaurant, Lucky Cat, although police reportedly received no formal complaint. Despite the scare, Ramsay has remained focused on his upcoming projects, including launching his new show, Next Level Baker, on Fox later this year. Swatting remains a serious concern for both law enforcement and the victims, as the hoax calls not only waste critical resources but can also escalate into life-threatening situations. Ramsay has yet to publicly comment on the latest incident.

Gordon Ramsay has revealed he's only dined at his restaurants twice as he finds them 'too posh' and 'intimidating'. The renowned chef, 58, has a total of 88 restaurants worldwide and currently holds 8 Michelin stars. He has been awarded 17 stars overall. While some would think Gordon would constantly be dining at his enterprise, he in fact finds them too fancy and 'not his style'. Speaking on The Savoy Originals' podcast, he said: 'There's a very fine line, running it or indulging in it. 'I've only had dinner at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in 25 years twice. 'Once was for Megan's birthday, and the second time was with Bradley Cooper when we were together for the film Burnt. 'It's not my style. It's too posh for me. It sounds weird, right? You built the f*****g place, and it's like, too posh for you. I can't sit there with that level of attention. 'It's bloody intimidating and it's a very special moment for the guests, not for me, because I'm a giver — I'm not a receiver.' However, at home Gordon does struggle with cooking so called 'normal' dinners for his family, which often leaves his wife Tana, 50, furious. Gordon leaves Tana less impressed when he naturally finds himself cooking Michelin-starred dinners for his six-year-old son Oscar. The couple are parents to Megan, 26, twins Holly and Jack, 25, Tilly, 23, Oscar and Jesse James, 17 months. He explained: 'I will do sausage and mash with baked beans and make it look like a three-star Michelin sausage, mash and baked beans. 'And I'll put the beans on one at a time, and I'll finish them, making mashed potatoes like [French chef] Robuchon did, with 70 per cent butter. 'And then Tana will kick me up the a*** and say, 'What are you doing? Our son is five years of age and you're f****** around with these sausages. Stop it.' 'So, yeah, I get a little bit carried away.' In February, Gordon expanded his culinary empire in the form of the 120-seat Lucky Cat on level 60 at 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest building in the City of London. Additionally, he has also launched Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High, the Gordon Ramsay Academy, and Lucky Cat Bar in the building.
