Lindsay Lohan's sweet nod to original Freaky Friday detail
Showing now | Culture 00:32 Lindsay Lohan has harkened back to the original Freaky Friday movie in a clever red carpet fashion detail. The actress attended the London premiere of the upcoming film Freakier Friday on Thursday (31 July), where she stunned in a custom lavender metal mesh dress by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. The dress resembled a purple lace-trimmed two piece by cult 1990s fashion label Mandalay, which Lohan wore in the final scene of the 2003 film as her character performed at the wedding of her mother, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. The 39-year-old actress accessorised the look with a miniature guitar purse, a nod to the guitar her character Anna frequently plays throughout the body-swap movie. 03:47 04:43 04:42 06:32 12:25 17:05 03:25 07:30 14:11 12:18 30:24 16:08 17:41 18:22 13:43 12:41 05:35 08:02 06:42 05:23 07:08 05:03 09:53 07:25 07:40 08:56 13:49 10:57 07:53 19:31 04:07 11:19 07:30 07:54 05:23 05:35 09:47 06:28 06:23 07:35 08:03 11:54 08:21 06:38 07:25 04:31 07:30 03:34 17:05 03:51 04:18 06:26 04:30 03:35 03:45 07:34 02:03 03:22 02:15 02:22 02:21 01:43 01:42 01:45 10:44 03:44 07:42 09:22 06:11 07:50 06:21 02:19 10:42 06:27 07:23 06:35 More Behind The Headlines 12:18 11:50 09:03 13:07 00:59 00:24 00:43 00:34 01:27 01:35 00:30 00:29 00:50 00:30 00:08 02:21 00:33 00:20 00:41 01:24 00:49 00:33 01:00 00:31 00:54 01:08 01:35 00:47 01:04 00:51 00:13 01:07 00:46 01:04 00:59 01:04 03:29 03:07 03:07 03:24 01:36 00:42 01:26 00:32 00:31 02:00 00:40 00:58 04:23 04:26 01:01 01:07 15:55 16:33 16:06 15:01 15:16 01:16 00:36 00:48 01:08 More Saudi Green Initiative 01:12 01:23 01:24 Live

Lindsay Lohan Pays Homage to Her ‘Freaky Friday' Roots With Ludovic de Saint Sernin Dress at London Premiere
Lindsay Lohan harked back to her 16-year-old self at the Thursday evening premiere of 'Freakier Friday,' the upcoming sequel to the storied 2003 comedy film in which she starred alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. The now 39-year-old posed on the purple carpet outside Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in a custom lavender halterneck, crystal mesh gown by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. Silver floral detailing crawled along the right hip of the gown and the left side of Lohan's midsection. That same embroidery kissed the bottom trim and appeared on the strap around her neck, extending down across her chest. The delicate, iridescent fabric matched the ethereal nature of Lohan's soft blond waves and light makeup. In her right hand, she clutched the chain strap of a tiny Judith Leiber bag shaped like the maroon guitar belonging to her 'Freaky Friday' character, Anna Coleman, in the first movie. Here, she donned a two-piece satin skirt and camisole set with cream-colored floral stitching and a chiffon trim. As the credits rolled, Anna and the rest of her band, Pink Slip, took the stage to perform, pulling out her maroon instrument one last time. In London, Lohan continued her soft glam streak, opting for warm, rosy hues and light shimmers on her eyes, cheeks and lips. The sparkly coral-toned shadow cast a semicircle over her eyelids, extending into her inner corners, while a deep pink dressed her lips. She kept the same hairstyle she's kept for years: blond coloring and loose waves. Earlier this week, the 'Just My Look' actress time-traveled back into her career even further, cosplaying as herself in 'The Parent Trap.' She played the part of both Hallie and Annie, the 11-year-old estranged twins who find each other at summer camp, dressing in a yellow tweed plaid dress from Balmain for her 'Good Morning America' appearance on Monday. As the official release date — Aug. 8 — of 'Freakier Friday' looms, WWD took a look back at all the best moments from the original score, finding the easter eggs for some of the biggest hair and makeup trends that came out of the early 2000s. Stylists Tara Smith, Barbara Lorenz, Elena Arroy, Christina Smith, and Clinton Wayne put purpose behind the hair and makeup, recreating the looks of that time for the film. Some of these, such as Lohan's calico hair, are making a resurgence today. Lindsay Lohan Recreates Her Iconic 'Freaky Friday' Finale Look
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis attend the 'Freakier Friday' UK Premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on July 31, 2025, in London, England. (Photo by) Nothing plays on our nostalgia quite like our favourite childhood films, and as an icon of that era, Lindsay Lohan is leaning into her greatest hits. More than two decades after Freaky Friday hit screens, she reprises not only her teen role for its sequel, but some of the notable fashion moments from the film, too. On the purple carpet at London's Odeon Luxe Leicester Square for the Freakier Friday premiere, the actress stepped out in a glittering lilac gown. Custom-designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, the dress paid homage to the closing scene look from the original 2003 film. The original outfit—a floral lace cami and matching skirt by Y2K favourite Mandalay—was worn for the wedding of her mother, Tess, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. While it was a feminine curveball from her otherwise punkish on-screen alter ego Anna Coleman, it was given a grungey twist when she stepped on the stage barefoot, guitar in hand and hair out for the finale performance of 'Take Me Away' with her band, Pink Slip. Fast forward two decades, and Lohan's reimagined version is just as iconic. Stylist Andrew Mukamal—the creative mind behind Margot Robbie's Barbie press tour looks—later confirmed Coleman's closet was very much on the mood board. (Photo by Karwai Tang/WireImage) It's the latest in a string of delightful deep-cuts from Lohan's nostalgic press tour, which has seen nods to The Parent Trap , too. Earlier this week, she even wore a retro-style Pink Slip band tee for a Fallon appearance, paired with Ghesquière-era Balenciagas from her own 2000s archive. While it's been two decades since the two have portrayed family, they appeared as close as ever. Lindsay Lohan Trades Her Pink Slip for a Lavender Gown at the Freakier Friday Premiere
Leave it to the master of method dressing, Andrew Mukamal, to fashion the ultimate nostalgia-fueled press tour for Lindsay Lohan. Today, at the London premiere of Freakier Friday, Lohan paid homage to her wedding guest dress from Freaky Friday—a lavender, lace-trimmed dress embellished with delicate floral appliques and sequins. Lohan and Mukamal gave the noughties dress a very 2025 update, tapping Ludovic de Saint Sernin to help them update the look. Samir Hussein De Saint Sernin fashioned a lavender dress in his signature chainmail, swapping the spaghetti straps for a rhinestone-encrusted halter neck that scooped under the bust to create an empire waist. The designer also nodded to the original lace detailing with silver rhinestone trompe l'oeil florals along the bodice and a matching trim along the hemline.

Ludovic de Saint Sernin relaunches swimwear line, opens summer pop-up on Fire Island
French fashion brand Ludovic de Saint Sernin unveiled on Wednesday its return to swimwear, coinciding with a racy swimwear campaign lensed on New York state's Fire Island. The Paris-based label's new swimwear line features an elevated reworking of the its eyelet brief and thong, as well as a new swim short, studded with the brand's iconic grommet lozenges. Captured by Stuart Winecoff at 231 Bay Walk, the swimwear campaign is vintage-inspired series of chiselled men in skimpy bathers, both playful and erotic, evoking for the summer months the queer sensibility known to the Ludovic de Saint Sernin brand. Fire Island is a sentimental location for the fashion designer, who shot his brand's first-ever campaign for his debut underwear line, at the hamlet of Fire Island Pines. The campaign also highlights de Saint Sernin's support for the queer history of New York City and its surroundings. Such support can be seen in the brand's previous collaboration with The Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, presenting the partnership during the AW24 edition of New York Fashion Week. To celebrate brand's reentry into the swimwear category, a summer-long pop-up will be held at the island's Visitors Center, a hybrid gallery, store and soft-serve bar, run by the Queer Culture Arts Foundation (QCAF). Here, the brand's new swimwear collection will be exclusively available to purchase, alongside a curation of products and artworks by queer creatives. 'Ludovic de Saint Sernin's return to Fire Island was both intimate and intentional. We chose 231 Bay Walk – the former home of our mentor, friend, collector and queer legend Gil Neary – as the setting for this collaboration," said Marc R. Christensen and Nicholas Ammaturo, co-founders of QCAF, a non-profit dedicated to preserving, supporting and celebrating queer culture and art. "Gil helped shape the aesthetic and social spirit of Fire Island Pines in its most iconic era, serving as a gracious and giving host who taught countless newcomers what it means to truly live here. By situating the Ludovic de Saint Sernin campaign within this home, we honoured a lineage of sensual elegance, erotic freedom and archival intention. It was a homecoming – for Ludovic, for Gil's memory, and for a timeless Fire Island aesthetic where the body is art, and the future wears very little." Born in Brussels and raised in Paris, Ludovic de Saint Sernin launched his eponymous label in 2017. Prior to that, he graduated from l'ESAA Duperré and worked for prominent fashion houses before going out on his own.
