Luton must take care of business at West Brom
So it's one final push for Luton Town. A win at West Brom guarantees Championship football next season, a draw could be good enough and even defeat might not mean relegation if Hull slip up at Portsmouth. Three wins out of three has helped put the Hatters in this situation as has the longer spell of decent form - one defeat in it still always comes down to fine margins. On Saturday, at a tense Kenilworth Road what made Coventry goalkeeper Brad Collins inexplicably attempt to punch the ball 16 yards from his goalline with a minute to go? And even after that misjudgement, how did Luis Binks not manage to clear Shandon Baptiste's resulting shot off the line? That's football. Around 2,500 Luton fans will now head to The Hawthorns believing their side can pull off another great escape like they did 35 years ago at the Baseball Ground when Kingsley Black scored the winner against Derby and 42 years ago at Maine Road when Raddy Antic's goal led to David Pleat's famous jig. Those were very special days as was the Championship survival five years ago when Luton looked doomed as Covid hit. After the enforced break the Hatters produced similar form to this time around but the supporters didn't get the chance to celebrate the achievement. It's in Luton's hands and if they do stay up the club should toast the success but then quickly analyse what went wrong this season in preparation for the next campaign. Luton need to make best use of the final parachute payment money which gives them such an advantage over the majority of the other clubs. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Luton need to get the job done. They come up against a West Brom side short of morale and confidence after missing out on the play-offs. The atmosphere among the home supporters could be hostile after the previous match there saw them ship three to another relegation candidate fans don't want to worry about what's going on at Fratton Park. Take care of business against the Baggies, play as they have been doing for the past eight weeks and take all three points back to Bedfordshire. If only it was that on West Brom v Luton Town is on BBC Three Counties Radio

Championship roundup: Luton stun Coventry in huge boost to survival hopes
Luton climbed out of the Championship's bottom three for the first time since January thanks to Shandon Baptiste's 90th-minute goal as they beat playoff-chasing Coventry 1-0 in a game where both sides had a man sent off. Luton looked as if they would go to West Brom next weekend with their destiny definitely out of their own hands, only for Baptiste, who had been on the field for just 11 minutes, to find the net and lift the roof off Kenilworth Road. Coventry had Jay Dasilva sent off in the 13th minute and held on but could not take advantage when the numbers were evened up by Liam Walsh's second-half dismissal. The defeat leaves the Sky Blues looking over their shoulder in the battle for the top six. They will be out of a playoff spot if Middlesbrough beat Norwich in their 3pm kick-off. Doncaster's 2-1 victory against Bradford and Port Vale's 2-0 win at Wimbledon mean both sides have been promoted with a game to spare. Rob Street put Doncaster ahead just after the half-hour and then Bradford had Aden Baldwin for foul and abusive language as the teams walked off at half-time. Billy Sharp scored Rovers' second in the 90th minute. Romoney Crichlow-Noble pulled a goal back for Bradford in added time but they now need to hope Walsall lose at home against struggling Accrington to keep City in the top three. Jayden Stockley and Jaheim Headley scored the goals for Port Vale at Wimbledon. This roundup will be updated shortly Dasilva was shown a straight red by Oliver Langford when he clipped the heels of Mill Alli who was latching on to Thelo Aasgaard's ball over the top. The numbers were evened up in the 68th minute when Walsh, having just been booked, shoved Luis Binks who went down theatrically. The Luton midfielder was shown a straight red by Langford. In the last minute of the 90, Bradley Collins in Coventry's gaol needlessly came for a long ball forward only to collide with his own defender Liam Kitching. That allowed Baptiste to sidefoot goalwards, where the covering Luis Binks appeared to have it under control, until he somehow diverted the ball into his own net. Zian Flemming and Jeremy Sarmiento both scored twice as Burnley emphatically maintained their title hopes by hammering QPR 5-0. Josh Cullen also netted in a one-sided game as Scott Parker's side, already promoted along with Leeds, won with ease to move to the top of the table, three points ahead of the Yorkshire side. However, Leeds, who are at home to Bristol City on Monday evening, have a superior goal difference and know winning their final two matches will almost certainly seal the title. Both teams could finish the campaign with 100 points. Scott Parker's side are now unbeaten in 32 league games, have lost just twice this season and conceded just 15 goals. This story will be updated later on Saturday
