Homestead Capital Hires Luke McCarthy to Lead Loan Origination; Expands U.S. Agricultural Lending Operations

SAN FRANCISCO, May 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Homestead Capital USA LLC (Homestead), a diversified investment manager that acquires and finances high-quality farmland across the United States, today announced that Oregon-based industry veteran Luke McCarthy has joined the firm's credit team as a director. In this new role, McCarthy will lead loan origination efforts to accelerate the firm's expansion of its agricultural lending operations. San Francisco-based Homestead manages more than $1.6 billion in equity and credit assets for pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and family offices. McCarthy has more than 15 years of national and sector-wide experience in agricultural financing, including credit analysis, collateral valuation, due diligence and loan syndications. At Homestead, he will focus on expanding the firm's lending operations and building relationships with farmers, ranchers, agricultural executives and fund managers across the United States. "As sophisticated investors continue to explore alternative asset classes and as we continue to expand our private credit business, Luke's expertise in agricultural finance and his first-hand farming knowledge will be of great benefit to Homestead clients," said Justin Burns, managing director. McCarthy was raised on his family's pear, apple and cherry farm in Oregon and remains active in its operation. He holds a bachelor's degree in applied economics and management in finance from Cornell University, a master's degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University, and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. With 22 employees and operations in the Pacific, Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, Delta and Midwest regions of the United States, Homestead primarily works with small and mid-sized farmers to provide capital solutions and improve profitability. Ballpark Ambassadors program aimed at improving visitor experience near Coors Field

DENVER (KDVR) — On Monday morning, several ambassadors hit the streets around Coors Field as part of a new program aiming to improve the visitor experience to the area. The Ballpark General Improvement District was created and one of its first orders of business was to get this ambassador program up and running, with the four major goals of hospitality, cleaning, safety and outreach. Belles & Boots country bar takes over former Sports Column on Blake Street Coors Field is typically surrounded by black and purple hats, but now add orange to the mix. 'So you can easily see us,' said Luke McCarthy, operations manager for the Ballpark GID Ambassadors Program. Before the Rockies season starts, the ambassadors' first goal is cleaning up the neighborhood, deployed with trash cans and brooms for all things big and small. 'We like to say 'no butt left behind,' so we pick up every cigarette butt,' said McCarthy. And when fans start to show up next month, especially from out of town, those orange hats make them easy to spot to answer questions about anything from the nearest restaurants to directions to the ballpark. 'We're here to help,' said McCarthy. Ballpark neighborhood improvement district passes, mill levy heads to ballot Safety is also a priority. McCarthy said the ambassadors are all trained directly by Denver police staff on de-escalation and to call 911. 'So we can assist as best as possible without impeding whatever needs to get help,' he says. Denver police provided a statement on the ambassador program: 'DPD believes public safety can best be achieved through partnerships with the community, and the ambassadors will provide extra eyes and ears in the downtown area to report crimes or safety concerns for police response and investigation. DPD looks forward to working with the ambassador program in helping provide a safe environment for people enjoying downtown Denver.' Denver Police Department Ambassadors are also trained to engage with the area's homeless population. 'We'll have a list of resources available for those individuals, get to know them, building profiles, understanding what their needs are,' said McCarthy. From roofing to a spring training sensation, Rockies' Jefry Yan delights with mound celebrations McCarthy said the group, which is funded privately through the Ballpark GID, is excited to get started in its first year in Denver. 'We have over 150 contracts around the country so it's well proven that this works,' he said. McCarthy said the group has 18 full-time ambassadors right now and has some more positions open currently. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
