Three Batu Enam shops destroyed in midnight fire causing RM200k losses

KUALA NERUS: A midnight fire destroyed three shop premises in Batu Enam here, causing losses exceeding RM200,000 to a traditional medicine business operating for 31 years. Lukman Mamad, 67, said his rented homoeopathy shop was completely gutted along with all medicines and treatment equipment. 'I closed at 6 pm yesterday and was in Losong when my son alerted me about the fire at 11 pm. 'The flames were intense with loud explosions from gas cylinders at the adjacent laundromat,' he told reporters at the scene. The laundromat operator, who owns the building, resides in Kuala Lumpur according to Lukman. Kuala Nerus Fire and Rescue Station chief Azmi Omar confirmed receiving the emergency call at 11.37 pm. Twenty-eight personnel from three fire stations and volunteer units responded to the blaze involving semi-permanent shop lots. 'The food shop sustained 50% damage while the laundromat and medicine store were 70% destroyed. 'Flames spread quickly due to aged wooden structures,' Azmi explained. The fire also damaged a nearby house by 50% before being controlled within 45 minutes. Authorities are investigating the cause and total losses from the incident. – Bernama

Lukman Mamad, 67, said the blaze destroyed all the medicines and treatment equipment in his rented premises. "Yesterday, I closed the shop at 6pm and went home to Losong in Kuala Terengganu. "At 11pm, while attending a meeting with friends, my son called to inform me that the shop was on fire. "I rushed to Batu Enam and saw the flames raging. ‘Thoomanju Polente': 'Bombay Positive' song feels like a warm hug with a hint of something deeper

The new video song 'Thoomanju Polente' from Bombay Positive dropped quietly this week — and somehow, that suits it. It's not loud, not flashy. But by the time it's done, you've probably played it twice. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Maybe more. Bombay Positive - Thoomanju Polente Video | Lukman Avaran, Pragya Nagra | Ranjin Raj | Vijay Yesudas Lukman and Pragya: A pair that just works There's a kind of magic when onscreen couples don't act like they're in love — they just are. and Pragya Nagra bring that kind of energy here. You don't see the lines. You just see two people... comfortable with each other. It's sweet, but not sugary. Soft, but not dull. They walk through frames like they're walking through memories. And that's rare. No forced expressions, no showy moves. It feels honest. The song? Simple. lovely. unshakeable Composer Ranjin Raj has a knack for staying out of the way and letting the feeling breathe. This one's no exception. 'Thoomanju Polente' is stitched together gently — just voice, melody, mood. and Rithika Sudheer sound like they're humming to themselves, not performing for applause. Qalb | Song - Alappuzha Mullakal The lyrics, by BK Harinarayanan, feel familiar in a comforting way. No metaphors that need decoding. Just plain truth. A special nod to Roopa Revathi's violin — it appears exactly where it needs to, no more, no less. And that restraint? That's the real strength of the track. About the film Director Jeevan Kottayi may have named the film Bombay Positive, and the title does carry warmth. But the first look and the visual tones say more. There's something layered underneath — maybe conflict, maybe quiet pain — and the music hints at it too. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now With Lukman and Binu Pappu teaming up again, expectations are fair. But if this song is any clue, 'Bombay Positive' might just offer something deeper than a feel-good ride. It might offer reflection. On the other hand, Lukman was recently seen in the Naslen starrer 'Alappuzha Gymkhana' which turned out to be a superhit.

Alappuzha Gymkhana star Lukman Avaran: 'Tharun Moorthy called me for Thudarum but...'

Lukman Avaran is garnering praise for his power-packed performance as Antony Joshua in Alappuzha Gymkhana, which is currently available to stream on OTTplay Premium and Sony LIV. The young actor revealed in an exclusive interview with OTTplay that director Tharun Moorthy had called him to play a small part in the Mohanlal-led hit, but that did not pan out because he was getting ready for Khalid Rahman's sports drama. He went on to say that both films were filmed almost simultaneously. Stream Malayalam's best action thriller such as Ajagajantharam, Chaaver and more on OTTplay Premium Tharun's latest directorial Thudarum, starring Mohanlal, turned out to be among the highest grossers in Malayalam this year. Lukman starred in Tharun's debut directorial, Operation Java, and Saudi Vellakka, that are available on OTTplay Premium. 'Excited for both Operation Java 2 and Ajagajantharam 2' The Saudi Vellaka star expressed his enthusiasm for the sequels of Operation Java and Ajagajantharam. "I cannot decide which one I find more exciting. My biggest break came from Operation Java, and Ajagajantharam is a Tinu Pappachan film," he remarked. Lukman continued by saying that although talks for Operation Java 2 had been held for a long time, Tharun's hectic schedule prompted the delay. "I am excited to collaborate with the filmmakers once more since they hold a special place in my life," he continued. Lukman also featured in Ajagajantharam, starring Antony Varghese Pepe. Last year, there were rumours of a sequel to this popular action drama, much to the delight of moviegoers and Antony Varghese Pepe fans. Although there have not been many updates, sources indicate that the script is being worked on and that the project may begin by the end of 2025. Additionally, Lukman disclosed that he has finished filming a brand-new Malayalam web series that will be available for viewing on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium. "The post-production work of this project is ongoing and hopefully there will be an official announcement soon," he stated, adding that he is currently unable to provide many details about the series.
