ONE Championship: Malaysian prospect hopes to become country's first champion

Aliff Sor Dechapan said he is ready to bring a ONE Championship world title back to Malaysia after a breakout performance at ONE Fight Night 32 – and a post-fight face-off with Thai legend Prajanchai PK Saenchai hinted a meeting could be on the cards. The Thai-Malaysian striker impressed at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium with a unanimous decision win over Moroccan stand-out Elmehdi 'The Sniper' El Jamari. His slick striking and intelligent game plan lifted his record to 61-9 61-9 – and may lift him into title contention. 'I'm very happy to get a win here,' Aliff told the Post. 'I was sick before, but I just followed my camp plan. Everything is good.' Despite feeling under the weather, Aliff delivered a composed performance from start to finish. He punished El Jamari with a steady stream of kicks to the legs and body, and even landed a spinning back kick flush to the face. Aliff Sor Dechapan (right) in the ring with Prajanchai PK Saenchai. ONE Championship rising star set for comeback in Bangkok at ONE Fight Night 32

Malaysian rising star Johan 'JoJo' Ghazali is returning to ONE Championship action on June 7 when he faces Colombian-American Diego Paez at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok at ONE Fight Night 32. Advertisement The 18-year-old phenom will be back where he made his name as one of the most electrifying talents in the game and a superstar in his native Malaysia. His opponent, Paez, is 13 years his senior and has just a single ONE appearance to his name: a split decision loss to Sean Climaco at ONE Fight Night 28 earlier this year. 'It's been exciting, you know,' Ghazali told the Post. 'Not many people know that I'm fighting soon, so it's gonna be a shocker for the Malaysian fans mostly here. 'He [Paez] comes to fight. He's experienced, he's strong, he's been around. He fought a pretty good fight against Climaco. 'I've been waiting for a fight for quite a while now – and yes, I'm ready.' 'I just got here a few weeks ago to get into a serious fight camp,' he said. 'In my last fight camp, I was going through a lot of change.

Prajanchai PK Saenchai is a name synonymous with excellence in the world of Muay Thai and kickboxing. But as the reigning ONE Championship strawweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion prepares for ONE Fight Night 28 in Bangkok, it is not just his physical prowess that sets him apart – it is also his mindset. With a career spanning more than 400 bouts across various disciplines, Prajanchai is one of the sport's living legends. His accolades speak for themselves: a two-time Lumpinee Stadium champion, three-time Rajadamnern Stadium champion across four divisions, and holder of multiple prestigious titles. He is also 3-0 in boxing. 'I think the fact that I've been versatile enough throughout my career has been my strength,' he told the Post ahead of the defence of his Muay Thai strap against Ellis Barboza. 'I've boxed, kicked and adapted to every fight. It's not just about the wins, but about how you approach each fight and the process behind it.' Prajanchai's versatility has allowed him to dominate across multiple weight classes. Photo: ONE Championship Prajanchai's adaptability in the ring is something few can match.
