Huntersville man charged with child solicitation; reportedly caught by officer posing as young teen: Police
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. () — A Huntersville man is accused of trying to meet a 13-year-old girl for sexual acts, not knowing an undercover officer was posing as the girl.
Huntersville Police say one of their officers went on chat rooms known for exploiting children and posed as a 13-year-old girl. This led to the officer talking with someone with the username LuvsYgrGrl.
The conversation then moved to text with the suspect using a Google Voice number. However, he was later identified as 43-year-old Jonathan Lee Case.

Over six months, Case reportedly sent many explicit and inappropriate messages to the person he thought was a child, asking to meet for sexual acts. This also included him claiming he was sexually abusing his niece, but he has not been charged with that offense.
After some time, Case and the undercover officer agreed to meet for illegal sexual activity at a shopping center on Sam Furr Road the morning of Friday, Feb. 21. He was later arrested that day by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police just north of Uptown Charlotte. and charged with Solicitation of a Minor by Computer/Electronic Device.
Case was released from jail just after midnight on Friday, Feb. 28, after posting a $30,000 secured bond. His next court appearance is on Tuesday, March 11.
