The Mac mini M4 is my go-to Mac and it's selling at its lowest price to date
I've been using my Mac mini M4 since late November. Not only is it my favorite Mac of all time, but we named this Editor's Choice machine the best mini PC for just about anyone. Memorial Day may be over, but right now you can score the amazing Mac mini M4 for just $499 at Amazon. (Make sure to click the on-page digital coupon to get this price). That's the lowest price I've seen for the base configuration, which offers more than enough power for most people. No more running away from Apple's base model Mac mini. The M4 Mac mini packs an awesome M4 chip along with a doubling of RAM to 16GB and a 256GB SSD. Port array continues to be impressive with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, Ethernet, and more. In our Apple Mac mini M4 review we said the Editor's Choice machine is as close to perfect as it gets. Note: Click the on-page digital coupon to get this price. This deal is for the base model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. However, the more powerful Mac mini M4 Pro is also on sale for $1,237 at Amazon. Just keep in mind that the M4 Pro model has been as cheap as $1,173 in the past, so while you're saving $162 right now, it's the base model that's the better value. The Mac mini M4 is one of our favorite mini PCs thanks to Apple's powerful M4 chipset, along with the fact that the base model Mac mini now comes with 16GB of RAM. At 5 inches wide, 5 inches deep and 2 inches tall this is Apple's smallest Mac yet — which makes it perfect for any desk setup, especially when you're short on space. The biggest change besides the new M4 chip and RAM upgrade is that you now have two USB-C ports along with a headphone jack on the front of the device. This means you won't have to pull your computer out every time you want to plug in a new device or listen to music with wired headphones. In our Mac mini M4 review, we said the base model is an absolute powerhouse with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine for Apple Intelligence and other AI-related tasks. We got it working with three external displays and even when driving all those extra pixels, it didn't miss a beat. Back to school season is right around the corner, but this is one deal I don't recommend waiting on.

Major motorway used by thousands of drivers every day hit with SIX MONTHS of closures
A MAJOR motorway used by thousands of drivers every day will be severely affected by six months of closures, with motorists urged to check their route. Disruption is expected on the M4 between junctions 37 and 38 near Pyle, Wales, for half a year beginning on June 9. 2 The road works are to 'ensure the safety and long-term resilience of the motorway'. The measures being undertaken to ensure safety and deterioration of the road involve refurbishing five bridges. During the works, the motorway will remain open but with just two running lanes in both directions for the duration of the repairs. Lane closures will be limited to overnight only and will be clearly signposted in advance. Speed restrictions will also be in place temporarily, to ensure both driver and worker safety. Ken Skates, the cabinet secretary for transport and North Wales, said: "Fixing and maintaining our roads and making them more resilient is a priority for us. "I understand the works will cause disruption and I'd like to thank motorists for their patience whilst the work is taking place, however it is important it is carried out during periods of drier and warmer weather to ensure it can be done effectively.' The work, lasting six months, is due to be carried out in four main phases. So far, only information has been issued for the preparatory work and phase one by the Welsh Government. The initial preparatory work will set up the contraflow system. 'Hundreds' of drivers abandon their cars to play football on closed UK motorway Starting on June 9 at 8pm and continuing overnight until 6am on June 10 the westbound section will be closed between J37 Pyle to J39 Groes. Then from 8pm on June 10 to 6am June 12 both directions will be closed overnight for two night between J37 and J39. From 8pm on June 12 to 6am the next day, the westbound section will be closed for one night between the same junctions. The eastbound section will then be closed overnight for two nights from June 13 at 8pm to June 15 at 6am between J38 Margam to J37 Pyle. Phase one – involves work on the central reservation. June 15 starting at 6am – July 16. Central reserve works with traffic flow reduced from three lanes to two lanes in each direction. A 50mph speed limit will be operating. Further details on later phases of works will be published closer to the time. Night time full closures in both directions will be required in order to install and alter the traffic management measures. The main works will predominantly be undertaken during daytime. During the phases, no diversion route will be necessary with all traffic and junctions 37 and 38 will still operate. During the isolated full closures to install traffic management measures, a diversion route will be in force using the A4229 and A48. Westbound, traffic will be directed off the M4 at Junction 37 and via the A4229 and A48, re-joining the M4 at junction 39. 2

Major motorway closed after car erupts in flames sparking bank holiday delays for thousands of drivers
A CAR fire has caused a major motorway to be closed causing bank holiday travel chaos for thousands of motorists. The M4 has been closed between J23 and J23a due to the blaze, Gwent Police have said. 1 Diversions are in place which may cause congestion. The force advises drivers to avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey. Earlier this week, drivers were warned they could face severe delays to their journeys over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. A whopping 17.9 million Brits face being hit with a "double dose of delays" when they take to the roads with experts advising on the best times to travel. Figures from the RAC show up to 3million journeys on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26, for the start of the half-term are expected to be made. Drivers who are able to do so are advised to leave their journeys as late as possible as traffic is expected to peter out later in the day. RAC Mobile Mechanic, Aaron Bryan, said: "Our research shows it really is best to leave as early or late as possible this bank holiday weekend, as the majority of motorists are planning to set off in the morning. 'While Devon and Cornwall remain some of the most popular destinations for summer getaways, many other major routes across the country could be hit by increased traffic – not least the M25 which so many drivers use to reach the coast and the South East."These stretches are likely to be equally as busy on Friday 30 May when drivers use the same roads for return journeys.'Just 3 percent of motorists are planning their journeys for between 7pm and 1pm after the evening rush hour .

Zagato Made a Prettier BMW M4 With a Double Bubble Roof
We typically associate modern shooting brakes with Zagato's stunning cars, but the Speedtop unveiled this past weekend at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este was an all-BMW effort based on the M8. The legendary Italian coachbuilder also attended the annual event held on the shores of Lake Como to introduce a different car. Coincidentally, also a BMW beneath the surface. Say hello to the Bovensiepen Zagato. If the Bovensiepen name sounds familiar, it's because the company was created by brothers Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen, sons of the late Alpina founder Burkard Bovensiepen , who passed away in October 2023. While Alpina now operates under the BMW Group umbrella, Andreas and Florian are venturing out with a new firm, which is also headquartered in Buchloe. Their first project is a collaboration with Zagato, based on the M4. Photo by: Rather than using the coupe as the foundation, Bovensiepen took the convertible and removed its electrically folding fabric roof. You can tell it's based on the droptop because it lacks B-pillars. Additionally, the small rear-side windows go down, enhancing the distinctive character of a pillarless coupe. Zagato's signature double-bubble roof, a design motif dating back to the 1950s, replaces the factory soft top. The curvature of the rear glass and the integrated rear spoiler signal that this is no ordinary M4. Newly designed 20-inch forged wheels further distinguish it from the donor car. Still, the laser taillights unmistakably reveal its M4 origins, even if the bodywork is entirely new. Most panels are crafted from carbon fiber, and a redesigned front end features an elongated hood with a U-shaped vent. We can all agree that the absence of oversized kidney grilles is refreshing. BMW itself did a current-generation M4 with a different take on the controversial front grille. In 2022, it celebrated 50 years of M with the retro-flavored 3.0 CSL . So, who wore it better? Bovensiepen Zagato Photo by: BMW 3.0 CSL Bovensiepen and Zagato have also developed a more aggressive rear diffuser, flanked by dual exhaust tips from a titanium Akrapovič system that reduces weight by 40 percent compared to the M4's standard exhaust. The wraparound design at both ends gives the car a fresh identity, though the interior remains unmistakably BMW . Blue leather and Alcantara trim the cabin, but the embellishments can't completely disguise its origins, not that there's anything wrong with that. Under the hood lies an upgraded S58 engine: a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six producing 602 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. That's more horsepower than the 3.0 CSL, BMW's most powerful inline-six production car to date. It also delivers more torque than the M4 CS . Bovensiepen quotes a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed exceeding 186 mph (300 km/h). Since it's based on the M4 Convertible, this new coupe with Italian flair comes exclusively with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. 2026 Bovensiepen Zagato at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 18 Source: Transforming the M4 Convertible into the Bovensiepen Zagato takes more than 250 hours, so it's safe to assume the car won't come cheap. Pricing and production numbers will be announced in the fourth quarter of the year. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of next year. A base M4 Convertible in the United States already starts at nearly $100,000, so this 'strictly limited' grand tourer will venture deep into six-figure territory. As for the future of the historic Alpina brand, BMW has indicated plans to move the niche marque further upmarket. Under this new direction, which aims to position Alpina as a bridge between BMW and Rolls-Royce , lower-end models based on the 3 Series and 4 Series could be phased out. As a result, expect the new Alpina to focus on BMW's largest vehicles, such as the 7 Series and X7. 2026 Bovensiepen Zagato 27 Source: Bovensiepen Automobile The Last Alpina Products Before The BMW Era: The B8 GT Is Alpina's Most Powerful Car Ever Alpina Boosts the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series to 529 HP Get the best news, reviews, columns, and more delivered straight to your inbox, daily. back Sign up For more information, read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use .
