MAFS expert John Aiken breaks silence on cast being snubbed from Logies and why the reality juggernaut will never win TV's top gong

Married At First Sight may be one of the biggest shows on Australian television, but in a surprising twist, it has never taken home a Logie. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia ahead of Sunday night's Logie Awards, expert John Aiken admitted that despite dominating the ratings every year, the reality series has never been recognised with a win on Australian TV's night of nights. 'We have never won anything at the Logies,' Aiken admitted. 'But we're pretty happy with the ratings that we have. At the end of the day it all comes down to who's prepared to vote. 'The shows that win usually have people who get online and vote. With MAFS, while we have a lot of committed viewers, they don't seem to vote.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Aiken said the team does not measure success by trophies. 'We don't do it to get a Logie, we do it because it's fun, it's exciting and a lot of people watch it. The real prize is the huge audience engagement we get every year,' he said. This year, like in the past, many MAFS cast members have been left off the official Logies guest list, something Aiken says is out of everyone's hands. 'It's a privilege to be invited, but it's completely out of my hands and out of the hands of the talent. Every year people are going to miss out, but you have no control over it,' he explained. And even if the show did win a Logie, Aiken joked it would be risky to let some of the brides or grooms accept the award. 'You'd have no idea what they're going to say,' he said with a laugh. 'They're very brave people who put themselves out there and I'm grateful to them for doing the show, but you never know what they'll do once filming wraps.' Aiken says that while the Logies may elude them, the show's reach is undeniable. 'It's now in its 13th season and it just keeps growing. It's sold into over 120 countries and it's consistently high in the ratings here. We keep putting out a high-quality product that people respond to,' John said. The social media ripple effect is also huge. 'TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat - it's all part of the cast's life now. Even if they don't get to go to the Logies they still get big opportunities in the media afterwards,' he said. Aiken says the show is polarising and that is exactly why it works. 'People either love it or hate it, but no one feels lukewarm. If it gets people talking, frustrated, cheering or angry, we're doing something right.' As for Sunday's Logies, Aiken is expecting a ribbing. 'I'll cop a little serve from all sorts of people. But you've got to have a thick skin and be able to laugh at yourself in this industry,' he said. With filming on the new season underway, Aiken teased that viewers can expect a fiery group of women leading the charge. 'We've got a cast full of very powerful, opinionated, outspoken women who will hold everyone to account. Some also have a heavy TikTok flavour to their dating approach which is very entertaining,' John explained. He says the cast is unlike anything we have seen before, with fresh cultural diversity, a sports presenter who loves cricket, and personalities who break the mould of previous seasons. Fans can also expect Aiken to continue his no-nonsense approach at the dinner parties. 'My role is clear now. I call out bad behaviour and hold people to account,' he said. 'Over the last few seasons I've become more direct and blunt because sometimes the behaviour is more extreme. People at home learn from that too.' Aiken also weighed in on some of last season's breakout stars – and why they became household names. 'Eliot Donovan was such an interesting journey. He came in polarising, had some ups and downs, but by the end people could see a different side of him. That redemption arc is rare on reality TV and it made people lean in,' Aiken said. Aiken meanwhile praised fellow bride Jamie Marinos, calling her 'a total breath of fresh air'. 'Jamie was bubbly, funny and had that unfiltered way of speaking her mind that you just cannot script,' he said. 'People loved her energy and it translated into huge social media engagement.' He added that these big personalities are exactly why MAFS continues to dominate the cultural conversation. 'They're authentic. Sometimes that makes them controversial, but it also makes them relatable. Whether people are cheering for them or against them, they're watching.' Voting is now open for all awards and will remain open until 7pm AEST, Friday, August 1.

Myleene Klass claims she caught husband cheating at family home with mystery celebrity

The Loose Women star opened up about the ordeal and said the mystery celeb has gone on to build a brand based on 'family' life Myleene Klass has claimed she walked in on her husband cheating with a well known celebrity at her own birthday party. The star, 47, spoke out about the time she discovered Graham Quinn in a compromising position as he and the famous female were ripping each other's clothes. ‌ Quinn, who was formerly a bodyguard for Myleene's band Hear'Say, was caught in the embrace on the balcony of the home he shared with the musician. ‌ Loose Women panellist Myleene has not divulged the name of the mystery celeb, but has hinted that the person has since gone on to build a successful career off the back of having a 'family brand'. ‌ Opening up on Paul Brunson's most recent instalment of podcast We Need To Talk, the mum-of-two said: 'I walked in on him with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony.' Myleene, who split from Irish bodyguard Quinn in 2013, went on to reveal the pair denied anything dodgy was going on but, despite the fact she had caught them ahead of any act taking place, she knew what was about to happen: "I'm in my house, it's my party. They weren't having sex, but they were unzipping each other.' She said that at first the pair told her she was mistaken but, ignoring their denials, she ended the party and asked everyone to leave. ‌ She said: "I kicked everyone out of the party, including his mum and dad. They went back to Ireland and his dad said: 'He doesn't get it from me'. 'I remember thinking that was quite a weird thing to say.' ‌ The former One Show host started dating Quinn in 2001 and they stayed together for 12 years, sharing two children together, Ava, 17, and Hero, 13. She explained to MAFS expert Paul that she saw the ordeal as a 'pretty big red flag' but still went through with the wedding in 2011, after Quinn blamed the incident on being drunk. Myleene also revealed she feels no bad blood towards the mystery celebrity but found it 'difficult' at first to watch them over the years. ‌ Myleene, now dating Simon Motson, added: 'I've made peace with that situation now, but for a long time, it was very difficult to see their life. 'My life literally just broke apart very, very publicly and their life, they've managed to continue building a family brand on it.' Myleene said 'first and foremost' her main concern has always been her kids and she's tried to shield them from her life in the public eye, though it's not always easy. She added: 'My children have asked enough questions and it's never been a case of laying out my stall now. ‌ 'It's got to be as and when. But here's the funny thing - school mums, people who just want to gossip, will go to your children before anybody else." Myleene previously revealed she was 'sobbing in the bath' the night before her nuptials to Graham as she 'knew it wasn't right'. Speaking on Loose Women, she said she knew he'd been unfaithful before but still went through with the wedding. She admitted friends had tried to convince her not to attend the ceremony, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. ‌ 'I was in the bath the night before I got married – which most of us know, didn't end well, in fact it went so badly that the priest even offered to annul the wedding. It was that quick! 'I was in the bath and I was just sobbing because something didn't feel right, I just knew it wasn't right. And my girlfriend, now my girlfriend of 18 years, at the time she just said, 'The car is outside.' Like Thelma and Louise, we could just go. 'At the time I didn't feel I could go, I had two children, and I had this wedding, you know we had the cathedral and we had the priest and it was just everything was there.' ‌ Myleene also previously revealed on Loose Women that the person Quinn had cheated on her with had then asked her for a photo, which she refused. She said: '100%, I've been on the receiving of someone who cheated on me. I was extremely disturbed as was my family as was the ripple effect of people who have to live with those actions. 'Put it this way, one of the people that he cheated on me with asked to have a photo with me and I refused. ‌ 'One of the people that he had an affair with or a relationship with just said 'Can I have a photo with you?' 'I said 'No. I do not agree with what you stand for'. If I then put myself, If I align myself or have allegiance to you as a person, that photo is out there forever. "I don't agree with women or men having their lives turned upside down with lies and deceit because you didn't think it was that big of a crime. ‌ "You're messing with peoples emotions and their lives. They have permanent repercussions." Myleene opened up about the impact of her 2013 divorce, which came just six months after she said 'I do', on an appearance on Kate Thornton and Tamzin Outhwaite's Yahoo podcast White Wine Time. ‌ She admitted she was boozing before 11am and couldn't go five hours without a drink because of the stress and worries about her financial situation. She said: 'I was doing breakfast TV and I went to get out the car and I thought, 'I can't'... I was right in the middle of the divorce... "And I opened the door, and I couldn't get out the car. I couldn't breathe. Finances were spiralling because I thought, 'I'm going to lose everything'." On her drinking, Myleene added: "I remember waking up and thinking it's ok to have a drink at 11am, because I hadn't had a drink in five hours." ‌ After the split from Quinn, she revealed her reported £11million fortune was at risk because she'd refused a pre-nuptial agreement. She told the Mirror at the time: 'I married a convicted drug dealer and didn't sign a prenup. What was I thinking? When I say that sentence aloud, I realise how stupid it was... 'I just wish I had listened to my dad, my friends and everyone in the papers. Everyone could hear the alarm bells except me. I should have just opened my eyes.' Married At First Sight 2026: New groom EXPOSED as fame chaser after footage flirting with Sonia Kruger resurfaces

Another Married At First Sight 2026 couple was revealed on Monday after Daily Mail Australia exclusively obtained pictures of their nuptials on Maroubra Beach. Now, details have emerged about the new MAFS groom's past, hinting that he may be looking for love for all the wrong reasons. Scott McCrystal, who is paired with Gia Fleur, is no stranger to reality TV, having starred in a number of Aussie programs, including Million Dollar Island. His résumé of shows comes as no surprise considering he told The Courier Mail in 2018: 'Tradie work is not for me. I want fame.' 'My dream goal is to do TV and movies,' he said, while promoting himself for Channel 10 dating show Blind Date. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'It's the most fun thing to do. Tradie work, I walk in and think "this is not for me,"' he continued. Scott got his wish, later appearing in a slew of reality shows, including Holey Moley in 2021. The competitive mini golf series, hosted by Sonia Kruger, saw participants battle it out on the green to win the grand prize. In the 'sexy singletons' episode, Scott appeared overly confident as he stripped off his shirt to reveal his heavily tattooed and buff frame. The gym junkie was in his element, teasing the crowd and flexing his muscles, before taking a moment to chat with the Strictly Ballroom star. 'It appeared there were women flirting with you in the gallery,' Sonia remarked to Scott after he won the round. 'That's standard. I get that all the time,' Scott responded in a cocky fashion, before directing at Sonia: 'Including yourself, I think.' Sonia laughed off his arrogance, pretending to remove the tickets he had on himself. 'Get that ticket off there,' she said in between laughs, while brushing his head. 'Ticket to my house, is that?' Scott brazenly quipped, before joking: 'Just kidding.' There's no doubt that the larger-than-life hunk, who boasts over 25,000 followers and a blue tick on Instagram, has an ego on him. In the bio of his YouTube account, Scott describes himself as an 'entrepreneur, longevity junkie, finance specialist, and early-morning savage'. He revealed that his aim is to help his followers 'level up' and achieve 'the alpha lifestyle' through fitness, food and goal-setting. Scott's fame-chasing and flirty ways have MAFS fans raising eyebrows over his intentions on the show. Scott appeared smitten on Monday as he married TV bride Gia, who risked suffering a wardrobe malfunction in a very racy dress. The couple were all smiles as they wed in front of a picturesque beach scene, with Scott leaning back in fits of laughter as they held hands at the altar. The new couple exchanged rings and then a kiss as they said 'I do' for MAFS fans across the globe. Later on, Scott and Gia enjoyed a loved-up photo shoot on the beach, where they could be seen striking a variety of poses. One picture saw the couple in a passionate embrace, with Gia's garter-laden leg lifted up by her husband. Later, Scott carried his new bride across the beach.
