Healthy Fruit & Nut Crackers Recipe
Pasant Elzaitony Crackers are a favorite snack for everyone, especially during the summer, when food cravings decrease. Crackers are an easy solution for providing healthy nutrients for adults and children alike. 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped 1 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/8 tsp black pepper 3/4 cup dried fruit, chopped (apricots, figs, dates, raisins, cherries, etc) 3/4 cup nuts or seeds, chopped (pistachios, pecans, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, etc) 2 tsp orange or lemon zest 1 cup milk of choice (we used oat milk, but any kind works) 1/4 cup honey Preheat oven to 350˚F and line two mini loaf pans (~5 1/2' x 3 1/4') or one regular loaf pan (~8 1/2' x 4 1/2') with parchment paper. Add both flours, baking soda, salt, herbs, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, dried fruit, nuts and zest to a large mixing bowl. Stir until well combined. Stir in the milk and honey until well combined and no streaks of honey remain. Divide between the 2 mini pans (or just the 1 regular loaf pan). Bake for ~25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Let cool to room temperature, then wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight. (You can also leave them frozen for up to 3 months, as long as they are tightly wrapped.) Remove from the freezer and preheat oven to 300˚F. Use a serrated knife to slice into 1/8' thick slices. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12 minutes, then flip each cracker over. Bake for another 12 minutes, then check for doneness. They should be golden brown and feel dry to the touch, but they may still look soft due to the fruit. Don't worry - they will crisp up as they dry! Amazon Halts Shipping to Israel Amid Ongoing Airspace Closure
Rana Atef Amazon, the American e-commerce giant, has announced the suspension of new orders and deliveries to Israel, due to the country's continued airspace closure following the outbreak of conflict with Iran on June 13. In an official statement to Israeli consumers, the company said: 'Due to local restrictions beyond our control, we are currently unable to accept new orders or deliver to your area. We will resume our services as soon as conditions allow.' Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv has remained largely closed to both commercial flights and cargo shipments since the escalation began, causing major disruptions to travel and trade. In recent days, Israeli airlines were permitted to operate limited daily flights to repatriate citizens stranded abroad and assist those looking to leave the country. Traditional healthy baked goods are your solution, they offer nutritional benefits like fiber, vitamins, and minerals, especially when made with more nutritious ingredients. It is a complete, healthy meal that can be eaten as an easy and light lunch or dinner. With just a handful of ingredients, you can make Lahmeh Bi Ajen (Lebanese meat pies). Ingredients • 2 cups flour • 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon yeast • ½ teaspoon salt • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 2 tablespoons olive oil • Milk (enough to knead into a soft dough — about ¾ to 1 cup). Directions: For dough In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Add the oils, then gradually pour in the milk while kneading until you get a soft, smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 2 hours in a warm place. For filling: • Ground beef • Tomato • Onion • Spices (black pepper, cinnamon, 7-spice mix…) • 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses • A little thyme (optional, but adds great flavor) Blend the tomato and onion until smooth, then mix them with the meat and add the spices. What Happens If Iran Strikes Israel's Dimona Nuclear Reactor?
H-Tayea As tensions surge in the Middle East following U.S. strikes on Iran's top nuclear sites, Iranian officials have issued direct threats, including a possible attack on Israel's Dimona nuclear reactor. The facility, long believed to be the foundation of Israel's secretive nuclear weapons program, holds deep strategic and symbolic weight. Dimona is not a civilian energy site—it was built to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons, making it a "breeder reactor." Unlike civilian reactors such as Iran's Bushehr, it contains smaller amounts of nuclear fuel and operates with low-enriched uranium. Despite this, experts warn that striking Dimona could trigger an environmental catastrophe. Israel is estimated to have around 90 nuclear warheads and enough fissile material for hundreds more. The Dimona facility has recently undergone security and technical upgrades. Reports from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) suggest that Israel has tested rocket propulsion systems possibly linked to Jericho-class ballistic missiles, capable of carrying nuclear payloads. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a direct missile strike on the reactor could lead to the release of radioactive heavy water, sparking fires and explosions. These would produce radioactive clouds that could drift over populated areas, threatening human life, wildlife, agriculture, and long-term environmental health. Although the immediate danger zone around the reactor is relatively limited—about five kilometers—the effects of such a strike could extend far beyond. The fallout from an attack would not only create a humanitarian and ecological disaster but could also escalate into a full-scale regional or even nuclear conflict.
