Parliament session: MSP, water disputes on TDP's agenda

VIJAYAWADA: Ahead of the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament from July 22, Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu chaired a meeting with party MPs at his camp office on Friday. During the meeting, also attended by HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, Naidu and the TDP MPs discussed the strategy to be adopted during the session. Underscoring the importance of utilising the Parliament session effectively, Naidu directed the MPs to intensify efforts to secure necessary funds and advance key developmental projects for the State. Furthermore, Naidu encouraged them to continue voicing the State's concerns while also acknowledging the commendable work being undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'MPs have been assigned responsibilities according to specific departments. You must maintain consistent dialogue with Union Ministers regarding issues and pending matters, while ensuring coordination with the State administration,' he emphasised. Highl ight ing a recent achievement, he noted, 'It was due to continuous consultation that we were able to push Rs 180 crore worth of bills related to NRE GA back into process.' He urged MPs to similarly focus on Central schemes, such as the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Ayushman Bharat Health Mission, to secure additional funds for the State. 'SIT found proof of YSRCP's hand in liquor scam' Pointing to the criminalisation of politics, Naidu said YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's behaviour exemplifies the dangers of allowing criminals into politics. Telangana Govt To Fill One Lakh Job Vacancies By Mid 2026: CM Revanth Reddy

CM Reddy said that the Congress government set a national record by recruiting 60,000 people within a year of taking office in December 2023. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Monday that his government aims to fill one lakh job vacancies by June 2026, within two and a half years of assuming office. At an event in Nalgonda district where he launched the distribution of new ration (PDS) cards, Reddy highlighted that the Congress government set a national record by recruiting 60,000 people within a year of taking office in December 2023, as reported by PTI. Reddy criticised the previous BRS regime for failing to fill government vacancies for 10 years, which forced thousands of unemployed youth to prepare for competitive exams in Hyderabad. 'Today, I am giving my word. We will provide one lakh government jobs before this government completes two and a half years (June, 2026) and make their (job aspirants) families live with self-respect," Reddy said. He questioned whether the opposition BRS had considered distributing new ration cards to the poor during its 10-year rule. Highlighting the Congress government's pro-poor and pro-farmer schemes, Reddy mentioned that the administration ensured the implementation of the 'Rythu Bharosa' investment support scheme, crop loan waivers, MSP, distribution of fine rice through PDS instead of coarse rice, and new ration cards. He noted that the TDP (1999-2004) and Congress (2004-2014) in undivided Andhra Pradesh, and the BRS (2014-2023, December) in Telangana, each governed for 10 years. The Chief Minister projected that Congress would remain in power for 10 years (from December 2023 to 2034) and reiterated the goal of transforming Telangana into a USD one trillion economy by 2035. Regarding the caste survey and SC classification undertaken by his government, Reddy assured that 42 per cent reservation would be provided to backward classes in local body polls as per the recent cabinet decision. This, he said, was a promise made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Earlier, in a post on X, he mentioned that 5.61 lakh new ration cards are being distributed, ensuring food security for 3.10 crore people across Telangana. view comments First Published: July 15, 2025, 10:42 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
