After an upset loss to a strong Liberty team, the Aggies rebounded in a must-win game, overpowering the Red Foxes 17-4. Texas A&M's offense came alive, securing their fifth run-rule victory in six games. The Aggies struck first, scoring five runs to Marist's two for an early 5-2 lead. In the fourth inning, the offensive floodgates opened. Back-to-back solo home runs from Mya Perez and Mac Barbara kicked off the scoring spree, followed by an Amari Harper single. Harper later scored on a KK Dement double, and an Allie Enright double set the stage for consecutive sacrifice flies by Kylie Griffin and Kennedy Powell, extending the lead to 10-2. The Aggies' patience at the plate paid its dividends on Friday night, collecting six walks and 12 hits through the seven innings. Mya Perez made an early case for SEC Player or Week going 4 of 5 at the plate with three doubles and two RBIs on the night. As the ace pitchers dueled, several hard-hit balls caused errors, allowing both teams to push runs across the plate. The lone home run of the night came from Mac Barbara, which gave Texas A&M an early lead, and Olivia Johnson had one of her better nights with two hits and a perfect squeeze bunt to add another run on the board. Overall, it was a fun game for the fans, and the rest of the series should be just as exciting. with only a few SEC series remaining in the season, winning this series is important to increase both teams' chances of hosting both a Regional and Super Regional.
