Mac Miller Posthumously Reaches A Milestone Thanks To One Of His Earliest Mixtapes

In the years since his death in 2018, many of Mac Miller's earliest projects have taken on new meaning. Several of his mixtapes have been re-released on various formats, and fans of the late hip-hop musician have shown their respect by not only streaming his collections, but purchasing them, especially on vinyl. One of Miller's decade-plus-old projects appears on several charts in the United Kingdom this week, and it helps him posthumously reach a notable milestone. I Love Life, Thank You Debuts on Multiple Charts I Love Life, Thank You launches on three rankings in the U.K. this frame, reaching all of them for the first time. The set opens at No. 36 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart and at No. 92 on the Official Physical Albums tally. Most impressively, I Love Life, Thank You starts its time on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart at No. 10. Mac Miller's Tenth Top 10 Album Miller earns his tenth top 10 hit on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart. Throughout his career — including the years following his unexpected death due to a drug overdose — the rapper has sent a dozen titles to the genre-specific list, with only two missing the highest tier. Among Miller's 10 top 10s on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums ranking is just a sole No. 1. He didn't reach the summit until January of this year, when Balloonerism, his most recent posthumous release, debuted in first place. Previously, several studio efforts by the talented musician — including Circles, Faces, and Watching Movies with the Sound Off — missed the throne by just one spot. Mac Miller's Mixtape is More Than a Decade Old Miller released I Love Life, Thank You in October 2011, when he was still relatively unknown. His sixth mixtape arrived about a month before his debut album, Blue Slide Park, which helped him break out as one of the most exciting new names in hip-hop. I Love Life, Thank You was recently issued on vinyl in several colors, and purchases of the collectible help it debut on charts in a number of countries where Miller's fanbase remains eager for anything with his name on it.

Pirates unveil plans final bobblehead night giveaway of the season

The Pittsburgh Pirates have unveiled plans for the team's final bobblehead night of the season. The team announced that the final bobblehead night of the season in September will feature outfielder Bryan Reynolds. Pirates' bobbleheads are a hot commodity as fans have lined up hours before gates opened for the first two giveaways of the season that featured star pitcher Paul Skenes and Pittsburgh's own Mac Miller. The final bobblehead night of the season will be September 6 when the Pirates host the Milwaukee Brewers. The team says the first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive the bobblehead, which features Reynolds wearing a shirt with the sleeves cut off. "One thing's for sure, he likes sleeveless shirts… even on his bobbleheads," the team said in a video announcing the plans for the giveaway. Tickets for the game are available online. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. at PNC Park.

Mac Miller bobblehead night drew the Pirates' highest home attendance so far this season

With a reported attendance of 38,041 at PNC Park for Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox, the Pittsburgh Pirates had their largest home crowd so far this season. The first 20,000 fans to enter the stadium received a bobblehead of rapper Mac Miller, a Pittsburgh native who died in 2018 at the age of 26. Advertisement Given that not everyone in attendance was set to receive the giveaway, which was designed in collaboration with Miller's family and plays his song 'Knock Knock,' fans reportedly started lining up at 8 a.m. for a game that began at 6:40 p.m. By around 4 p.m., the line snaked all the way across the nearby Roberto Clemente Bridge. Miller's mother, Karen Meyers, threw out the ceremonial first pitch (pictured above) and a fan messages wall was set up on the Highmark Riverwalk for the game, where attendees could 'leave messages in memory and celebration of Mac Miller.' The Pirates also sold a limited-edition Miller collaboration T-shirt in the team store on Saturday, with a portion of proceeds going to the Mac Miller Fund. The shirt sold out in record time, according to the team, prompting them to announce a restock later in the week. The shirt is now selling for $175 on eBay and the bobbleheads are selling for around $200. 'He was a big fan of the Pirates, a big fan of Pittsburgh for sure.' The Pirates' three highest attendances so far in 2025 have been their home opener against the New York Yankees on April 4 (36,893), Paul Skenes bobblehead night against the Cleveland Guardians on April 19 (37,713), and Saturday night's 10-4 loss to the White Sox. Like the Miller bobbleheads, only 20,000 of the Skenes one were originally made available, but the team later announced that any game ticket scanned after supplies ran out would be entitled to a bobblehead at a later date. Through 49 home games, the Pirates rank 26th in MLB in home attendance with an average of 19,090 as they sit in last place in the NL Central standings. Pirates handing out Mac Miller bobbleheads at July game

The Pirates are giving away Mac Miller bobbleheads during a game in July, honoring the late rapper and his Pittsburgh roots. The Pirates on Thursday posted a montage video to social media teasing the bobblehead giveaway, "This is for you, Malcom." In the video, Pirates fans speak over one another as they describe the impact Mac Miller had on their life. The video strings together images of places like Blue Slide Park, Jerry's Records and Frick Park Market before revealing a bobblehead Miller wearing a Pirates jersey and flashing his "most dope" knuckle tattoo. This is for you, Malcolm. 🕊️ — Pittsburgh Pirates (@Pirates) May 15, 2025 "He taught me how to be comfortable in my own skin," one Pirates fan says, before another says, "He really did it on his own, and that's the Pittsburgh way." One fan says, "He represented us, man. He was the culture." The video also features Pirates star Andrew McCutchen saying, "He talks about Clemente and the Pirates, you know, he's just a Pittsburgh guy through and through, that's what made people love him so much." Miller, who was born and raised in Pittsburgh's Point Breeze neighborhood, was 26 when he died from an accidental overdose in 2018. When is the Mac Miller bobblehead giveaway? The bobbleheads will be handed out during the third annual Yinzerpalooza weekend, which celebrates all things Pittsburgh. The Pirates' website says the first 20,000 fans at the White Sox game on July 19 at 6:40 p.m. will get to take home a bobblehead. Before the game, there will be a block party on Federal Street with live music, drinks from Wigle Whiskey and more. It'll be the Pirates' second bobblehead giveaway of the season. The Paul Skenes bobblehead giveaway last month was so popular that the team has promised vouchers to everyone at PNC Park. Last year at Yinzerpalooza, the Pirates handed out Wiz Khalifa bobbleheads.

Mac Miller Earns A New Posthumous Top 40 Hit

Mac Miller's 'The Spins' debuts at No. 26 on the U.K. Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart, while Swimming ... More returns and celebrates 100 weeks on the albums tally. LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 08: Rapper Mac Miller performs at Camp Flog Gnaw at Los Angeles Coliseum on November 8, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Chelsea Lauren/WireImage) Years after his death, Mac Miller continues to impact charts all around the world, both with new, posthumous offerings and tunes and full-lengths he released during his lifetime. The hip-hop star, known for his genre-blurring style, regularly appears on a variety of tallies with a mix of long-overlooked cuts and continual favorites. This week, Miller scores another win in the United Kingdom with a beloved track, while one of his albums — the final he got to share during his lifetime — reaches an important milestone. Miller collects a new hit on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart in the U.K., a list that tracks the best-performing rap, hip-hop, and R&B tracks in the nation. The late rapper sees 'The Spins' debut at No. 26, giving him another posthumous win. While Miller has landed on the chart before – he's actually scored just four smashes on the genre-specific tally – his appearances have been fairly sporadic. 'The Spins' marks Miller's first new appearance on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart in more than five years. He last landed on the list back in January 2020, when 'Good News' debuted shortly after its release. Prior to that success, he also charted with 'Self Care,' a completely solo effort. He first showed up as a featured artist on Ariana Grande's breakout smash 'The Way,' which helped launch her career more than a decade ago. 'The Spins' originally appeared on K.I.D.S. — short for Kickin' Incredibly Dope Shit — which was released in the summer of 2010. At the time, the mixtape introduced a rising star to a new generation of hip-hop fans. More than a decade later, fans are still consuming the collection, and, it seems, especially one track. Miller's Swimming album also manages to return to a U.K. tally this week. The collection makes its way back to the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart, breaking back onto the list at No. 26 — coincidentally the same position as 'The Spins' on the associated singles ranking. Swimming was the last full-length effort Miller released during his lifetime. The project dropped in August 2018, just a month before his death, and was met with widespread praise for its introspective lyrics and genre-bending production. As Swimming breaks back onto the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart in the U.K., it hits a major milestone. The title has now spent 100 weeks on the ranking — a triple-digit performance that cements it as Miller's most successful release in that part of the world. Swimming is the only one of his efforts to spend at least 100 weeks on the genre-focused tally. His first posthumous release, Circles, comes in a distant second, having held on for just 17 frames. Most of his other collections have only managed a handful of weeks.
