Did Apple accidentally reveal 2025 device upgrades? iPad, new Watch, HomePod Mini and more expected
Apple appears to have inadvertently revealed details of upcoming hardware through identifiers found in publicly shared software code, offering rare insights into potential launches across multiple product lines. Highlighted by MacRumours, the report points to next-generation chips for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro, supporting earlier reports about Apple's roadmap for 2025 and 2026. You may be interested in Apple's software often contains device strings, codenames, and chip references that can appear before official announcements, signalling new product families even if final specifications remain unconfirmed. According to the publication, the latest findings suggest a series of upgrades spanning silicon, display technology, and connectivity, as well as a potential Apple TV refresh with enhanced AI and gaming capabilities. New HomePod mini A next-generation HomePod mini, codenamed B525, is reportedly said to adopt Apple's T8310 microarchitecture, similar to the latest Apple Watches. The upgrade could include a 64-bit dual-core CPU derived from the A16 and a four-core Neural Engine for improved on-device processing and audio features. Apple is reportedly testing Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth enhancements, alongside potential new colour options. Pricing is expected to remain close to the current $99 model. Apple TV As per the report, the next Apple TV could feature the A17 Pro chip, previously seen in the iPhone 15 Pro. This may allow more advanced gaming and AI functions while boosting overall performance. Testing also suggests Apple may integrate its own Bluetooth/Wi-Fi module. Pricing is anticipated to remain in the $129–$149 range. Studio Display 2 Noted by the report, code references indicate a potential Studio Display update, possibly with a mini-LED backlight and early 2026 release, aligned with Apple's forthcoming M5-powered Macs. The current 27-inch model uses a standard LED display at 60Hz; a mini-LED panel would offer improved brightness, contrast, and HDR performance. Pricing and feature details remain unclear. iPad Mini and Entry-Level iPad The next iPad mini, linked to the A19 Pro chip, could offer a significant performance boost over the current A17 Pro model, with potential GPU core variations. Apple has also reportedly explored OLED displays for future models, though timing is uncertain. Meanwhile, a refresh of the low-cost iPad with an A18 chip is expected in spring, adding a 16-core Neural Engine and AI capabilities while maintaining current pricing. Vision Pro 2 The second-generation Vision Pro appears to be aligned with the M5 chip, offering improved CPU, GPU, and neural processing. Changes are expected to be mostly incremental, such as a new strap design, with a potential late-2025 release. Entry pricing is likely to remain near the current $3,499. Apple Watch The next Apple Watch lineup, including Series 11, Ultra 3, and Watch SE 3, is expected to continue using the S11 SiP based on the T8310 architecture, the report added. Improvements may focus on efficiency and packaging rather than major performance leaps. Pricing is likely to remain similar to current models, with Series 11 starting at $399, Ultra at $799, and Watch SE at $249.

iOS 26 beta hints at bigger display for Apple Watch Ultra 3
Apple is expected to launch its next generation Apple Watch Ultra 3 at the company iPhone launch event this year. As per rumours, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 series smartphones and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 next month. Now a new online report reveals a feature expected to come in Apple Watch Ultra 3. As reported by MacRumours, the latest iOS 26 beta suggests that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 may sport a slightly larger display as compared to its predecessor. The leaked assets, uncovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, show a resolution of 422 x 514 pixels, up from the 410 x 502 resolution found on the current Apple Watch Ultra 2. While the physical casing size of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is not explicitly confirmed to be larger, the increased resolution strongly suggests either a slightly bigger overall display or, more likely, a reduction in bezel size to accommodate the enhanced screen within a similar form factor. This potential display bump, though seemingly minor in terms of raw pixel count, could translate to a more immersive and user-friendly experience, allowing for more information to be displayed at a glance or providing a more expansive canvas for watchOS features. Apple iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max may get a ‘display upgrade'
Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 17 series in September this year. While the exact launch date is yet to be announced, going by the past events, it is likely that the company may host an event in the first week of September. The 2025 iPhone lineup is rumoured to offer four devices – iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the all-new slim model that may be called iPhone 17 Air . Nevertheless, the rumour mill has been churning leaks around the upcoming iPhone models. The latest is an upgraded display technology for Pro models this year. According to a report by MacRumours, Apple may finally bring scratch resistant anti-reflective displays with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The report quotes an unnamed source who said Apple suppliers have been able to achieve a high enough yield on the anti-reflective glass to support mass production. However, the upgraded display will not be coming with the standard iPhone 17 model and the Air model. The current iPhone models come with a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and Ceramic Shield . But unlike iPads and Macs, Apple hasn't focused much on reducing screen glare on iPhones. The new anti-reflective display is said to be more resistant to scratches than the current Ceramic Shield. This feature was first rumored in 2024 and could help the phone handle daily wear better. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Learn More - How Donating Sperm May Boost Your Income SpellRock Undo Earlier this year, Apple faced problems making the new coating on a large scale. The process was slow and difficult, leading to concerns that the feature might be dropped. However, improvements in production have brought the display back into consideration. iPhone 17 Pro expected features A report by The Information previously said that the iPhone 17 Pro may come with a redesigned rear panel composed of both aluminum and glass. It may feature an aluminum rear panel, housing a camera bump, bigger than the one found on the iPhone 16 Pro models. The report further added that the iPhone 17 Pro may come with an aluminium frame, replacing the titanium frame like their predecessors. On the specifications part, the phone may come powered by Apple's A19 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process. iPhone 17 Pro is said to offer 12GB of RAM, up from the iPhone 16 Pro's 8GB. For camera duties, it may have a 48MP telephoto lens, replacing the 12MP sensor found in the iPhone 16 Pro. For selfies, the smartphone is tipped to have a 24MP sensor.
