Two Packers stars earn top 10 rankings at their position in Madden NFL 26 ratings reveal

As part of EA Sports' rollout of player ratings ahead of the release of Madden NFL 26, the top ten players at each position have now been revealed, with two Packers making the list at their respective position. Josh Jacobs was included as one of the best ten running backs in the game, while Xavier McKinney made the cut at safety. With a 90 overall rating, Jacobs is ranked as the seventh best running back, behind Philadelphia's 99 overall rated Saquon Barkley, Baltimore's Derrick Henry, Detroit's Jahmyr Gibbs, San Francisco's Christian McCaffrey, Atlanta's Bijan Robinson and Houston's Joe Mixon. Jacobs had an 89 rating at the launch of Madden 25 a year ago, so this season's ranking represents an improvement as a reward for the productive season he enjoyed in his first year with the Packers. However, he was rated 92 overall by the end of last season due to upgrades he received throughout the year, meaning his rating has actually come down since then. He graded out as PFFs third best running back overall in 2024, so his ranking of seventh in this year's game could be seen as harsh. Jacobs' top individual ratings are break tackle (95), ball carrier vision (93), trucking (92), stiff arm (92), awareness (92), juke move (91), speed (90) and acceleration (90). As for McKinney, he earned a 93 overall rating after a season in which he was voted first-team All-Pro at safety for the first time in his career, arguably having a career year after arriving in Green Bay. His 93 rating puts him tied for second place among safeties in Madden 26, alongside Derwin James of the Chargers and behind only Jessie Bates of Atlanta. McKinney was PFF's third highest graded safety last season, putting his Madden rating in line with their assessment. His best individual ratings are play recognition (96), awareness (94), acceleration (90), zone coverage (90), speed (88) and pursuit (88). The other safeties in the top ten are Arizona's Budda Baker, Miami's Minkah Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay's Antoine Winfield, Baltimore's Kyle Hamilton, Detroit's Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch, and Minnesota's Harrison Smith. Both Jacobs and McKinney were acquired by Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst in free agency a year ago and paid immediate dividends, continuing a trend of successful big-money free agent signings throughout Gutekunst's tenure. Jacobs was Green Bay's highest graded offensive player by PFF, while McKinney ranked second behind only rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. The reveal of Jacobs' and McKinney's ratings followed the announcement of the scores for Green Bay's rookies, with first-round pick Matthew Golden topping the class with a 76 overall rating.

Madden 26 ratings: Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty, top rookies for 2025

EA Sports is preparing to release its latest installment of its Madden NFL video game ahead of the 2025 season. Naturally, many fans will be looking forward to Madden 26's arrival due to the new players included in the game. Notably, the game will feature all 257 players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, as well as a portion of the undrafted rookies on each team's 90-man roster. Most of these rookies won't immediately be high-level impact players in the game. That said, a handful could emerge as early impact players and X-factors who could help gamers win in head-to-head battles or build quality contenders in Madden's franchise mode. But who earned the distinction of being Madden 26's top overall rookie? Four players were given ratings of at least 80, but one unicorn stands alone atop the list ahead of the game's release. MADDEN 99 CLUB: Saquon Barkley, Josh Allen highlight top-rated players for 2025 Who is the top rookie in Madden 26? Travis Hunter is the top-rated rookie in Madden 26. The 2025 NFL Draft's No. 2 overall pick earned a rating of 84 overall for the 2025 edition of the video game, one point higher than No. 6 overall pick Ashton Jeanty. Hunter's top billing comes amid his attempt to become a two-way star with the Jacksonville Jaguars after playing both receiver and cornerback at Colorado. Gamers will be able to use the 22-year-old at both positions in Madden 26. Madden 26 rookie ratings Hunter and Jeanty are the highest-rated offensive rookies in Madden 26, while Abdul Carter represents the top-rated defensive rookie in the game. Below is a look at the 10 highest-rated rookies for Madden 26: All 10 of the top-rated rookies were first-round picks. Hunter was the highest drafted on the list at No. 2 overall, while Hairston, the 30th overall pick, was the lowest. In total, seven of the top-10 rookies primarily play on defense, while two play on offense. Hunter is the lone two-way player of the bunch. What is Cam Ward's Madden 26 rating? Ward is set to have a rating of 71 for his first-ever appearance in Madden. The mark is four points lower than the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Caleb Williams, who earned an opening mark of 76 in Madden 25. What is Shedeur Sanders' Madden 26 rating? Sanders' rating has not yet been revealed but is expected to eventually be released Wednesday as part of Madden's rookie ratings release. The fifth-round rookie's rating will likely be lower than that of the higher-drafted Ward. Sanders figures to earn a similar mark to the two fifth-round quarterbacks in Madden 25: Spencer Rattler and Jordan Travis. They earned ratings of 67 and 66, respectively.

EA Sports snubs Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt on Madden 26 99 Club

On Monday, EAP Sports dropped its list of players in the 99 Club for the upcoming Madden 26 video game. These are the rare group of players who earn a 99 player rating, which is the best you can get. Only seven players made the cut this year and one who just missed was Pittsburgh Steelers edge defender T.J. Watt. Watt had a 97 rating in Madden 25, up from a 94 in Madden 24. Watt struggled down the stretch last season but was still one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Meanwhile, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was on the list and was the only defensive player who earned a 99 player rating. This is a big sting for Steelers fans as the rivalry between Garrett and Watt among the fanbase is heated. EA Sports is giving early access to Madden 26 for seven days on August 7 if you pre-order the game. The official release date is August 14.

Cam Ward's Rumored Madden 26 Rating Revealed

Cam Ward's Rumored Madden 26 Rating Revealed originally appeared on Athlon Sports. EA Sports' Madden video games have captivated many football fans since they were children. They get to play with their preferred teams and do incredible things with their favorite players. Advertisement However, as time has passed and these kids have grown up, the game has gained even more attention. The ratings of individual players being publicly released for everyone to see have almost taken center stage more than the game itself. One player whose initial rating Tennessee Titans fans are interested to see is rookie quarterback Cam Ward. The former University of Miami quarterback has captivated many Titans fans with his confidence, ability and incredible study habits since being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward (1).Steve Roberts-Imagn Images It was unknown, however, if his impressive offseason with the team would transfer into a strong Madden 26 rating. Advertisement According to Justin Graver, Ward has been rated as a 71 overall in Madden 26. This relatively low score even surprised his fellow rookie teammate, offensive lineman Jackson Slater, who is reportedly rated a 75 overall. This rating may be shocking to some Titans fans, but it is important take a look at where rookie quarterbacks, especially those who were drafted first overall, have been rated in the past. Caleb Williams was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft and his rating was a 76 overall in Madden 25. For a player who was considered by some to be a generational quarterback, this was a surprisingly low rating. Advertisement Bryce Young, who was taken first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, was given an initial 74 rating. He was the highest-rated quarterback in that year's rookie class, but Young had an up-and-down rookie season. When Trevor Lawrence was drafted number one overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2021 NFL Draft, his rating started off at 78 overall. Ward is the lowest-rated of the four most recent number one overall quarterbacks. This may be understandable considering the hype that the other three garnered ahead of their first seasons, but there is something special about Ward as well. This rating may be puzzling considering the things Ward did on the field and the way he carried his offense at the University of Miami and the other stops along his journey. But, just like he always has, Ward will get the opportunity to prove he deserves better on the field. Madden is fictional, but what Ward can do on the field is real, and maybe EA Sports has to see him prove that at the professional level.
