SBSP to organise Vijay Diwas to mark king Suheldev's valour against invaders
Lucknow: SBSP president and UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Monday announced that his party will organise Vijay Diwas in Bahraich on June 10 to commemorate the victory of Maharaja Suheldev over Syed Salar Masood, the general and nephew of Turkish invader Mahmud Ghaznavi, in the Battle of Bahraich in 1034 AD. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Rajbhar said that he had invited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the event in which a 'Shaurya Mela' would also be organised. The development comes days after the Bahraich district administration denied permission to hold 'Jeth Mela' at the shrine of Salar Masood on the grounds of law and order. "Maharaja Suheldev protected our culture and identity by ending the terror of invaders in India a thousand years ago. This fair will not only be a means of preserving our cultural heritage but will also be a good opportunity for the new generation to know and assimilate their glorious past," he said. The SBSP chief slammed the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, accusing them of trying to erase Maharaja Suheldev's contribution to history for vote bank politics. "Why did the Congress govt keep the heroic saga of Maharaja Suheldev away from history books for decades? Why did the Samajwadi Party organise a fair in the memory of invader Salar Masood Ghazi in Bahraich? Why did it forget the valour of Maharaja Suheldev on the same land," Rajbhar asked. "These questions are not political but are related to our identity, heritage, and the future of our children," he said, adding that his party always pitched Suheldev not just as a "caste hero" but as a "nationalist symbol". Rajbhar said that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav should celebrate 'Vijay Diwas' on June 10. "If they do not do so, it will be considered that they only do vote bank politics and don't want to respect great men," he said. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "Maharaja Suheldev's bravery and nationalist dedication should be given due weightage with construction of memorials and parks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi restored the king's historical significance through initiatives such as the installation of Suheldev's statue and a park on 5 acres near Chittora Lake in Bahraich," Rajbhar said.

UP: Akhilesh Yadav did
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 4 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has accused Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav of engaging in caste-based favouritism during his tenure as chief minister and neglecting Dalits and minorities. Responding to Yadav's recent remarks during a press conference, during which he reiterated his party's commitment to conducting a caste census if voted to power, Rajbhar expressed surprise at what he called the opposition leader's hypocrisy. 'It is surprising if people who usurp rights say such things. He (Akhilesh Yadav) recruited people in services like police, village servant, lekhpal based on caste during his five-year tenure as chief made 56 SDMs out of 86 on the basis of caste. Rajbhar further alleged that caste bias was seen during administrative appointments as well under the previous Samajwadi Party government. 'He made 56 sub-divisional magistrates out of 86 on caste basis. If he really believed in PDA (Pichhde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak--backward, Dalit, minorities), he would have recruited at least one from these communities,' Rajbhar asserted. 'Actually, Akhilesh Yadav's ground has slipped due to caste census, he is bewildered... He (Akhilesh Yadav) is now bewildered as to what will happen now...,' as Akhilesh has got know the possible outcome of the caste census. Rajbhar is an ally of the BJP-led government in Uttar Pradesh. On Friday, Yadav promised to install a grand statue of Maharaja Suheldev at the Gomti Riverfront in Lucknow if the Samajwadi Party forms the government in Uttar Pradesh. 'After the formation of Samajwadi Party government, we will install a big statue of Maharaja Suheldev at the Gomti River front. His weapon will be made of Ashtadhatu,' he said. Maharaja Suheldev ruled Shravasti and famously defeated Ghazi Sayyid Salar Masud, the nephew of Mahmud of Ghazni, in 1034 at the Battle of Bahraich. Yadav further expressed hope for the 'complete support of the Maharaja Suheldev community' in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. 'We hope that the complete support of Maharaja Suheldev community in 2027 UP Assembly elections,' Yadav said in a press conference. (ANI)

Pressure of PDA behind caste census announcement: Akhilesh
: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said the Centre's announcement of a caste-based census was the result of pressure by 90% people of the country who belong to the PDA (Pichda or backward, Dalit and Alpsankhyak or minorities) section of the society. He also said his party will ensure proper implementation of the caste survey. Yadav was speaking to the media at the SP headquarters in Lucknow. 'After this, we will ensure that we get our rights as per the population,' he said. Following a meeting with Suheldev Samman Swabhiman Party (SSSP) chief Mahendra Rajbhar and his party workers, Yadav announced that a grand statue of Maharaja Suheldev will be installed at the Gomti riverfront in Lucknow when his party comes to power in the state. The statue will have a sword made of alloy and gold ore. 'I am happy that SSSP people are also in favour of caste census, which has been our long-standing demand. The SSSP workers gave some suggestions today and I want to assure them that their suggestions will be taken care of when we come to power. We expect that PDA people and brothers from SSSP will support us in 2027 also just like they stood by us in 2024,' Yadav said. On the night landing by IAF jets on the Ganga Expressway, the SP chief said, 'What is the difference between day and night landing? You just need lights at night. This is not a new technology. The vision of the Samajwadi Party is being followed by the BJP government. We are proud of the fact that we were the ones who created such infrastructure for defence in the state.' Reacting to the demolition of madrasas and mosques on India-Nepal border by the UP government, the Kannauj MP said, 'This is very serious, the behaviour of the government is in question. Nothing is said to those who give open threats and display swords. There is no action against them. The way in which the vote graph of the BJP has gone down, now they are trying to impress their hardcore voters by bringing the Waqf law and (taking) action against madrasas and mosques.' 'Whatever is happening in Nainital, it is the result of communal politics of the BJP. All they know is to spread hatred and communal propaganda,' the SP chief said. Whenever his party forms a government in the state, he will revive the Old Pension Scheme in Uttar Pradesh, he to the SP chief's announcement of putting up a statue of Maharaja Suheldev in Lucknow, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) national spokesperson Arun Rajbhar said, 'The SP does not respect great men. When they were in power, they never thought of Maharaja Suheldev. The SP should first respect Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar by putting his photo on its banners.'
