The film is expected to be a genre-bending entertainer that unites Malayalam cinema's finest talent under one roof, raising excitement not just in Kerala, but across India. 'Fake news': South Indian superstar Mammooty's PR team denies cancer rumours
South Indian superstar Mammooty's PR has refuted rumours surrounding the actor's illness in a statement released to Mid-day. During the past few days, there were rumours circulating about the star being diagnosed with cancer and that he would be taking a break from acting. The 73-year-old's PR team dismissed the 'fake news' in a statement. "It is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is on a break from his shoot schedule as well because of that. In fact, after the break, he will go back to shooting for Mahesh Narayanan's film with Mohanlal." Prior to the clarification, some social media posts suggested that the actor, whose original name is Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail, was in the early stages of colon cancer, which led to the spread of rumours among fans.
