Engineering student run over by SUV coming in wrong direction near Gandipet
1 2 3 Hyderabad: A 19-year-old engineering student was killed and two of his friends injured after a car coming in the wrong direction hit their bike head-on near Gandipet on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as R Vinay Kumar Reddy , son of China Veera Reddy from Peersahebpet in Nandyal. Vinay was a Btech 2nd year student at KL University in Chilkoor. He was residing with seven other students in a rented house at Sun City in Rajendra Nagar. "At 2.30 am on Tuesday, Vinay along with two of his roommates, Vishnav Abhignav and Charith Karthik, left their room on a bike to have tea. As they reached Meluha School in Gandipet, a Mahindra XUV500 coming in the wrong direction hit their bike. Vinay died on the spot with severe injuries. The other two suffered simple injuries and they are out of danger," Moinabad inspector G Pavan Kumar Reddy said. Police identified the car driver as Sk Hanif, 22, from Manikonda. At the time of the incident, four others were in the SUV. "The accused fled from the scene abandoning the vehicle. We are trying to locate him," the inspector said. The deceased's body was sent for autopsy. A case of causing death due to negligence and other sections was registered at Moinabad PS.
