Mangoes are often called the 'king of fruits,' and with the arrival of May, the mango season is officially here. Bihar is known for growing several popular varieties of mangoes. The famous Malda mango is recognized globally, and local varieties like Amrapali, Bijju, CPIya, and Jardalu are also well-loved for their unique taste and aroma. Grown in this village near Patna According to reports, the Miyazaki mango is being cultivated in Koriawan village, located in the Masaurhi block of Patna district. This exotic fruit is known not just for its hefty price tag but also for its rich nutritional value. Nicknamed the 'Egg of the Sun,' this mango stands out because of its deep ruby-red color, which gives it a unique appearance and makes it easily recognizable. As awareness and demand for this premium mango increase, farmers in Bihar have started experimenting with its production. What Makes the Miyazaki Mango So Special? The Miyazaki mango isn't just known for its price it stands out for many unique qualities. This rare mango has a deep, striking red color and an appearance that immediately catches the eye. But it's not just about looks the taste is equally impressive. It's extremely sweet, with a naturally high sugar content, and a flavor that many say is unmatched. Another standout feature? The Miyazaki mango has no fiber at all, giving it a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Plus, it gives off a distinct, pleasant aroma that adds to its overall appeal. Grown in highly controlled environments, it requires a lot of care and precision something that makes it even more exclusive. Each mango usually weighs between 350 to 550 grams. Costs up to Rs. 3 lakh per kilo According to reports, the price of Miyazaki mangoes can go as high as Rs. 3 lakh per kilogram making it one of the most expensive mangoes in the world. In Bihar, the plants for growing this rare variety are brought in all the way from Bengaluru, and each sapling costs around Rs. 500. Given the high value of the fruit, farmers have to take extra precautions while cultivating it. Special arrangements are made to ensure the mangoes are safe from theft or damage. In some cases, CCTV cameras are even installed in orchards to monitor the crop. This level of care shows just how prized the Miyazaki mango has become, both for its taste and its rarity.
