When asked directly if Sabrina Carpenter might join the Mamma Mia universe, producer Judy Craymer playfully envisioned her as 'a goddess' or perhaps a character related to Meryl Streep's Donna—someone who could strikingly resemble the iconic lead. While not a confirmation, the idea certainly adds fuel to fan speculation. Interestingly, the more popular fan-cast fantasy has Sabrina Carpenter playing the daughter of Amanda Seyfried's character. But with only about a 13-year age gap between the two stars, the idea raises some eyebrows. It remains to be seen whether Amanda would be on board with such a bold casting choice. Exclusive: Amanda Seyfried on the New 'Mamma Mia'—and Why She's Going to Target for Her 40th Birthday
When it comes to family travel, Amanda Seyfried is not about sugarcoating reality. 'I literally try not to travel with my kids because it's stressful,' the actress told Travel + Leisure about her daughter Nina, 8, and son Thomas, 4. Case in point: While flying back home to New York after visiting her sister in Los Angeles, her son threw up for the first time in his life—in the middle of a flight. 'We were still two hours from landing and he had just eaten lasagna, so just imagine,' she said. He also vomited again on the car ride home, and to make matters worse, Seyfried caught the stomach bug herself once she was home. Seyfried said there's "literally no secret' to surviving a long flight with kids, and admits it's often all about keeping her youngest one occupied on a device. She opted for the Amazon Kindle Fire, which "you can throw around and [it] won't break.' Her first-hand experiences are exactly what inspired the Mamma Mia star to create the Make it Cute Playhouse Experience at Philadelphia's The Bellevue hotel. Designed for families with young ones, the suite stay includes a welcome kit, Levain cookies, valet parking, and most importantly, an assembled plastic-free playhouse from Make It Cute, the company Seyfried founded with her childhood friends in 2021. The best part? Families can take the playhouse home with them when they check out. 'Any good hotel makes you feel like there's a familiarity and coziness,' Seyfried said. 'Having these really cute playhouses is incredibly distracting for the kids, so the parents can unpack and have some semblance of peace—not to say that you don't have peace when you have kids, but it's harder to find.' She says the play houses don't just give kids something to do, but that it also gives little ones their own space since, "hotel rooms just aren't geared for kids to have fun.' Seyfried grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a small city about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia, and was excited to collaborate on a project with such an iconic property in her home state. Located in Philly's tony City Center neighborhood, The Bellevue was founded in 1904, and was once considered one of the most glamorous and luxurious hotels in the country. 'I love collaborating with something that's so Philly, born and bred," she said of The Bellvue. "It's such a beloved landmark." She hopes the hotel package will help ease the burdens of traveling with children—something she's been doing ever since becoming a mother. In fact, she filmed "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" on location right after her daughter was born. 'She doesn't remember any of it, but she turned six months when we were on the island of Vis in Croatia,' Seyfried said. 'It was just crazy to have a baby in a tiny village on an island—we had to bring all of our diapers beforehand!'Aisle or window? in your hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania?You can't visit Allentown without going to Mary Ann Donut Kitchen and Yocco's hot dogs. You're just on top of the world up there. It's magic. There's also an abandoned hotel that's [made of only] stone halfway through the place you've filmed?It's a hard one, but I think I have to say Skopelos, Greece, for "Mamma Mia." Verona for "Letters to Juliet" was also a really beautiful place to live, and I found it to be so welcoming and warm, and the food was epic. It's a very livable city, and every perfect little town in Italy has a do you hope the third 'Mamma Mia' will film?It's going to go back to Greece. I know that, not for a fact, but it will. We need to bring it home. But it would be so fun if "Mamma Mia 3" filmed on a new island in Greece or Croatia where I haven't been has been a big part of Seyfried's daughter's life from an early age. They've mostly centered around Seyfried's work, plus occasional family trips. 'It's just so easy to travel with her now,' Seyfried admits. 'She's 8, but she's like a little adult.' Their first true family vacation was to Budapest, and they even brought their dog, who had to travel with 80 pounds of special JustFoodForDogs meals. They also considered taking their bearded dragon along, but ultimately decided against it. 'My second kid is a pandemic baby, and it was wild bringing him overseas last year,' she said. 'It was a pain to get there, but everything falls away once you land and you're like, 'We live in a crazy, beautiful world with a lot of amazing people.'' Once the family was there and settled in, Seyfried realized that the Hungarian capital was pretty kid-friendly, and she loved taking her children to its beautiful parks. Seeing her kids interact with other children was especially moving to her. "You realize that kids have the capacity to relate and can communicate with anybody," Seyfried said. "It was just the most beautiful thing in the world ... Kids need to see things, meet people, and swim in oceans and engage in things that aren't home.' When she was a child herself, Seyfried developed a deep love for travel, especially for trains. One time, after driving to Florida from Allentown, the Seyfried family took the Auto Train back. 'I just remember thinking, this is heaven on Earth, because we're just going so fast from south to north, with our big minivan on the train somewhere,' she said. She still loves trains and takes the Amtrak weekly from her upstate home to New York City. She enjoys watching the views along the Hudson River. 'If you get the right seat, getting into the city that way is just so romantic,' Seyfried said. She's also a fan of the 'beautiful' new Moynihan Train Hall, where she likes to pick up mini-cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery for her kids. But despite being a certified world traveler, when it comes to her 40th birthday, she's planning on keeping it local. 'I'm gonna travel 25 minutes to my local Target,' she said. 'My friends are coming in from the city, all girls—no offense, boys—and we're going to get brunch and get a little tipsy. I'm gonna have cash on hand for everybody, and they have to spend it all. That's my plan. Everybody who's invited knows about it!' Even though she's staying in town for her birthday, Seyfried knows the transformative power that travel can have—and she wants her kids to experience it as much as they can. 'I'm entering a period of my life where I am responsible for making sure my family travels, but I just feel like there's never a right time because of work,' she said. 'But I know once we land in the Serengeti, Tokyo, Oslo, or Buenos Aires, it'll be just epic. With kids, it doesn't ever feel like the right time. Just book the tickets and travel.' The 2000s rom-com decade gave us everything and more. A shining gem of the lot is of course, top-tier cult classic Mamma Mia! The 2008 release features Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried in easily one of their most career-defining roles, seamlessly channeling that effervescent mother-daughter chemistry. Exactly a decade later, came the sequel — a moment in time. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again took the story further ahead, with promises of a threequel periodically floating in and out of pop culture conscience. Off-late though, the chatter around it has definitely gotten louder, enough to coerce a response out of Amanda. In a sit down chat with Entertainment Tonight, Amanda Seyfried was finally cornered into answering the one pressing question in every romance and musical loyalist's mind: "What's cooking when it comes to Mamma Mia 3?". Amanda, in her trademark goofy style went, " Mamma Mia 3 is happening. It's going to happen in Greece, hopefully before 20...38". But if franchise producer Judy Craymer's Deadline interview is to be taken into consideration, the faith in Mamma Mia's (and everything it stands for) global appeal, as she sees it, is undying. And cult pop group ABBA, whose music represents the melodious core of Mamma Mia, is essentially the tying force. Speaking about it in context of the global appeal, she said, "The Sabrina Carpenter generation and Dua Lipa's and then even Pink's generation are all influenced by the (ABBA) songs". When pointedly asked if Sabrina was then, being considered as an addition to the franchise, Judy envisioned, "She'd be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep". But interestingly, the more popular narrative around Sabrina's Mamma Mia stint being dreamt up by fans, involves her playing daughter to Amanda. But the pop star being only about 13 years junior to the 39-year old actor, would the latter be game? Refreshingly, in a byte to ABC News last year, Amanda said, 'You know what? Old age makeup for me. That's what it will be…I'm an actor. I'll do it. If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I'll make it happen. It's fine. She's...I'm a big fan'. Meghan Markle has given fans a rare glimpse of her and Prince Harry 's rescue beagle Mamma Mia in a promo post for As Ever amid uncertainty over the future of her lifestyle brand. On Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a sweet snap of the pooch, Mia, sniffing the contents of her woven bag that was filled with fresh vegetables grown in her garden on Instagram. Referring to Mia, who the Sussexes rescued in 2022, Meghan captioned her post: 'The unofficial quality inspector of this morning's garden haul.' The 'haul' comprised of broccoli, carrots, corn, red peppers and squash as well as spring onions and an assortment of fresh herbs as Mia buried her face in the produce. The latest post on As Ever's social media page comes one day after Meghan revealed she plans to 'step back to assess' what the lifestyle brand had achieved in its first year - and what it could become in the future. Meghan, who unveiled the company at the start of the year, recently revealed she may never restock her famous jam - one of the many homely products she sold under the As Ever brand - in an interview with The Fast Company. The Duchess was speaking about her business and balancing work with motherhood as the first series of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, drew to a close yesterday. Asked about As Ever, Meghan said she 'step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what' the company's future holds - as she confirmed new products won't go live until the first quarter of 2026. Meghan and Harry's rescue, beagle Mia, was first seen in the family's Christmas card last December. Among six pictures included in the festive greetings card was one which featured the Sussexes with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as their rescue dogs including Mia, beloved beagle Guy - who passed away earlier this year - and their labrador Pula. Nine-year-old Mia was rescued by the couple from an animal testing centre in 2022 The pup was one of 4,000 dogs bred for Envigo breeding and research facility in Virginia. Mia had arrived at the rescue centre having just given birth to eight puppies. The dogs had been bred for pharmaceutical and biotech research - but inspections of the centre had found dozens of violations of federal law over a two year period. Animal lover Meghan has adopted a number of rescue dogs over the past few years and brought her American rescue beagle Guy to the UK when she married Harry. Also in the picture was the couple's black Lab, Pula, who was introduced to the family ahead of Archie's birth in 2019. The pooch's unique name is the currency in Botswana, a country the couple visited in the early days of their relationship. Though not included in their greetings card, the Sussexes also own several rescue chickens, who live with them at their $14m, seven-acre mansion in Montecito, California. Meghan's latest As Ever post comes one day after the Duchess released the eighth and final episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, featuring Spanx entrepreneur Sara Blakely. Promoting the podcast and As Ever, Meghan told The Fast Company that she wouldn't know 'what to call herself' if she had to write a resume. She said: 'If I had to write a résumé, I don't know what I would call myself. 'I think it speaks to this chapter many of us find ourselves in, where none of us are one note. But I believe all the notes I am playing are part of the same song.' Meghan added that the 'mom moments' push her to success in the business world, with plans in the future ranging from home goods to fashion. Revealing her son Archie has begun to lose his teeth, she described becoming the tooth fairy and leaving coins and a little dinosaur underneath his pillow. She said: 'I had a lot of business meetings the next morning, but I still chose to cuddle with him the rest of the night. Those mom moments energize me to be a better founder, a better employer, a better boss.'

Coronation Street fans have been introduced to newcomer Fiona Morley, but it's not her first time on a soap set – here's where viewers may have seen actress Sara Poyzer before There's another new arrival in Weatherfield, as Coronation Street fans have been introduced to Fiona Morley. Despite being a newcomer on the cobbles, fans may have seen actress Sara Poyzer before. In tonight's episode, fans see her interact with her ex Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) following his split from fiancé Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney). It was previously reported that the character would be seen revealing her 'dodgy dealings' to Ronnie, and will offer him a business proposition; to sell stolen cars for a vast sum of money. It's not just Ronnie Fiona will be involved with, however, as Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) wants in on her corrupt car business, as he reveals he will start selling the cars through his brother Kevin Webster's (Michael Le Vell) garage. On-screen, it seems like Sara's character Fiona will become busy by being involved in some dodgy dealings. Off-screen, the actress has been busy on the West End, and various other TV shows. ABBA fans will know the star for her ten year stint as Donna Sheridan on the West End stage in Mamma Mia. Radio listeners will also know her as being a staple in BBC Radio 4 soap opera The Archers in the role of Leonie Schnell. Hardcore soap fans, however, may remember Sara for her short stints in BBC soaps EastEnders and Casualty. In 2013, Sara appeared in the Casualty episode What a Wonderful Life, as Lynne Shields. She's also starred in EastEnders twice. Once in a guest role as character Penny in 2002, and more recently as DS Sally Grant in 2013. During the 4 November episode that year, Sara's character interviewed Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks) about the murder of Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd), as she charged her with the murder. Elsewhere, Sara has starred in Doctors, Cast Offs, Paradise Reclaimed, Dangerville, Dangerfield, Playing the Field, Peak Practice, Crossroads and The Pilot of Ordinary People. In 2019, she also starred in Doctor Who: The Legacy of Time. Back to the cobbles and spoilers for next week hint at trouble. Next week, Carl will be seen continuing his dodgy dealings with Fiona, while their meeting leaves Abi Franklin clearly jealous despite her being married to Carl's brother Kevin Webster.
