Now, Solutions To Public Complaints Only A WhatsApp Message Away In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: If you are a resident of Hyderabad, registering a complaint to the authorities and getting your issue resolved is only a WhatsApp message away. Hyderabad district Collector Harichandana Dasari on Monday launched a dedicated WhatsApp-based grievance redressal system, which aims to streamline the process of submitting complaints and seeking resolution, eliminating the need for citizens to physically visit government offices. Citizens can now register their complaints by sending a message to the official WhatsApp number 7416687878. Each complaint submitted through this platform will be assigned a unique tracking ID, and a message of acknowledgment will be sent via WhatsApp. The complaints will then be forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt resolution and an Action Taken Report (ATR) will be maintained to ensure accountability and transparency in addressing public issues. This WhatsApp service is expected to be especially beneficial for senior citizens, differently-abled individuals who face mobility challenges, and working professionals who may find it difficult to attend in-person grievance meetings. The initiative is taking forward the Telangana government's promise to leverage technology to make governance more accessible to its citizens. "This initiative will enhance the outreach and efficiency of our grievance redressal system, ensuring greater convenience and transparency for our citizens," district Collector Harichandana said. Initiatives such as 'WhatsApp governance' have been earlier introduced in neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, which launched its 'Mana Mitra' platform earlier this year, offering a wide range of government services through WhatsApp.

Addressing a session on AI and data centers, he announced that South Asia's first 152-bit quantum computer will be unveiled in Amaravati in January 2026, a development expected to transform the region's technological ecosystem. The IT Minister emphasised the need to modernise education to align with global technological advancements. The State is introducing AI and quantum computing courses in polytechnic, degree, and engineering curricula to equip students with cutting-edge skills. 'Transitioning from traditional education to advanced technologies like AI is challenging, but we are making transformative changes to our curriculum to meet global standards. These reforms aim to prepare Andhra Pradesh's youth for the demands of a digital economy,' the HRD Minister explained. Lokesh underscored the government's commitment to using AI to enhance public services. Drawing from his observations during public outreach programmes, he noted the difficulties citizens faced in accessing basic land records. To address this, the State government has launched 'Mana Mitra', a WhatsApp-based governance platform that delivers 600 types of citizen services efficiently.

CM Naidu unveils development agenda in Tirupati; vows plastic-free Andhra, clean politics

TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday unveiled a comprehensive development agenda for the State, emphasising a commitment to public hygiene, technological innovation, and a decisive purge of criminal elements from politics. He also set a target to make the Secretariat plastic-free by August 15 and extend the ban to all municipalities by October, implementing a statewide ban by December. Addressing the gathering in Tirupati's 'Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra' programme, Naidu articulated his vision for 'Swarnandhra Pradesh' (Golden Andhra Pradesh) through 'Swachhandhra Pradesh' (Clean Andhra Pradesh), drawing parallels with Japan's renowned cleanliness culture. The Chief Minister expressed pride in Andhra Pradesh securing five Swachh Survekshan national awards, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness. Emphasising promoting reusable items such as steel glasses and raising awareness among government employees to lead by example, he urged citizens to 'chase away the plastic ghost,' promoting recycling and the concept of 'waste not being waste.' On the occasion, Naidu outlined several ambitious projects aimed at propelling Andhra Pradesh into a new era of development. A 'Quantum Valley' will be established in Amaravati, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and aiming to make the capital a hub for quantum technology. Additionally, a 'Green Hydrogen Valley' will be established for clean electricity production, leveraging green hydrogen to combat pollution. Furthermore, a weather information app is slated for launch to provide advanced weather information to the public. By August 15, approximately 700 government services will be accessible through WhatsApp Governance (Mana Mitra), streamlining public interaction with the administration. The Chief Minister committed to the speedy completion of the Mallemadugu and Balaji Reservoirs. A significant promise was also made to bring Handri-Neeva waters via Kalyani Dam to Tirumala, specifically to the feet of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, and to Tirupati. Addressing concerns of the populace, Naidu announced that DSC recruitments would be completed by August 20. Furthermore, he confirmed the implementation of free bus travel for women across the State starting August 15, a key promise under his government's 'Super Six' schemes. CM Naidu calls day ‘unforgettable' after releasing Krishna river water to Rayalaseema

Nandikotkur , Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that supplying water to the drought-prone Rayalaseema region gives him immense happiness, calling the day "unforgettable" after releasing Krishna river water into the Handri Neeva Sujala canal. CM Naidu calls day 'unforgettable' after releasing Krishna river water to Rayalaseema "Today is an auspicious day in the history of Rayalaseema and marks a new step in enabling the flow of water. The happiness of providing water to Rayalaseema is unforgettable," said Naidu, addressing a village meeting at Malyala. Stating that he was born in Rayalaseema and understands the region's hardships, Naidu said many believed the area would turn into an arid stretch of rocks. However, he noted that he had invested hundreds of crores of rupees to prevent desertification. Although widening the Handri Neeva canals, which span over 554 km, was once considered impossible, Naidu said the state has earmarked ₹3,890 crore for the expansion work. Water has been released under phase I, and the second phase will be completed in 15 days to irrigate even the most distant lands in Rayalaseema, he added. Naidu assured that water will be supplied to Krishnagiri, Jeedipalli, and other project areas. He said nearly two lakh acres would be irrigated under the first phase and another six lakh acres under phase II of the HNSS project. According to the Chief Minister, the TDP government had spent ₹12,000 crore on projects in Rayalaseema, while the previous YSRCP government "did not spend even ₹2,000 crore in five years". "It is easy to make statements but very difficult to translate them into work," Naidu said, adding that while the TDP completed projects, the YSRCP "destroyed" them. He reiterated that the government would disburse the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme— ₹20,000 annual financial aid for farmers—as soon as the Centre releases its share of funds. The amount will be distributed in three phases, he said. Naidu also reaffirmed his commitment to providing free bus travel for women starting August 15. On the same day, 700 government services will be made available through the WhatsApp-based governance platform 'Mana Mitra', he added. The Chief Minister also referred to recent deliberations between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on water-sharing, held in New Delhi on Wednesday. He stressed the need to avoid disputes and instead adopt a 'give and take' approach between the two Telugu states. Naidu emphasised that harnessing excess Godavari water, which currently drains into the sea, could help both states irrigate vast stretches of arid land. Following the water release, Naidu offered prayers and garments to the Handri Neeva waters in Nandyal district, as per an official statement. The water release marks a major milestone in the completion of the ₹696 crore Handri Neeva phase-I canal works. The widening of the canal is expected to enhance its carrying capacity to 3,850 cusecs.
