Vishnu Manchu Makes SHOCKING Claim, Says Brother Manoj's Staff Stole Kannappa Hard Disk
Last Updated: Vishnu Manchu claims his brother Manoj's staff is linked to the stolen 'Kannappa' hard disk. Tensions within the Manchu family have spilled into the spotlight once again as actor-producer Vishnu Manchu made a shocking claim involving his brother, actor Manoj Manchu. Speaking at a press meet in Chennai on Friday, Vishnu alleged that two individuals accused of stealing a hard disk containing crucial VFX footage from his upcoming film Kannappa are linked to his brother Manoj. According to Vishnu, the suspects—Raghu and Charitha—work for Manoj, though he clarified that he isn't sure whether they acted under Manoj's direct orders. 'We don't know if they stole it or acted upon someone's orders," he said. 'It was after these attempts we filed a police complaint." Vishnu explained that Kannappa's visual effects work is underway in multiple cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Dubai, and London. He detailed the incident, saying, 'When the VFX-related hard disk was sent from Mumbai, it reached my father Mohan Babu's residence in Film Nagar. It's the norm. We are three siblings and all our packages arrive there, and our respective managers would go collect it. Similarly, the hard disk arrived at our dad's residence. It was handed over to Raghu and Charitha, and they have been missing since then." The dispute is only the latest in a long-brewing rift between the Manchu brothers. Manoj has reportedly been estranged from the family and no longer stays at their father's Film Nagar home. Despite the setback, Vishnu reassured fans that the stolen hard disk is secure. '99 per cent, you cannot crack the password, there is one per cent chance though. Even if they manage to leak the footage, I urge everyone not to watch the leaked footage. A lot of hard work has gone into the film," he said. The alleged theft occurred in Hyderabad's Film Nagar, just weeks ahead of the film's expected release. A statement released earlier by Vishnu's team hinted at deeper issues, referring to 'sabotage and personal vendetta" as possible motives. An FIR filed with the Hyderabad police also backs Vishnu's version of events. As per the complaint, the footage was couriered on March 23 by a VFX vendor in Mumbai to the production office of 24 Frames Factory, Vishnu's banner. It was received by one staff member, then reportedly handed off to another, who is now missing. 'The hard drive was taken without any authorisation and with malicious and deliberate intent," the FIR reads. The film is releasing on June 27. Kochi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet on Saturday in a case registered in connection with the 2023 attack on Kerala forest development corporation (KFDC) office in Wayanad. The attack was allegedly perpetrated by suspected members of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit. Four Maoist operatives — C P Moidheen, Manoj, Santhosh and Soman— arrested by NIA in coordination with Kerala anti-terrorist squad (ATS) were named as accused in the chargesheet. The final report was submitted before the NIA special court in Kochi. Two other suspects remain at large and the central agency is continuing efforts to nab them. The case pertains to the attack on Sept 28, 2023, when six armed assailants stormed into the KFDC office. The ultras brandished firearms and threatened the office manager under the pretext of discussing grievances faced by employees. The office was then vandalised with an iron rod, damaging equipment and infrastructure. The gang also put up posters on walls and directed the manager to click images of the posters and send them to six mobile numbers, which were reportedly connected to their network. NIA took over the probe in 2024 to investigate a larger conspiracy behind the act and connections to other Maoist activities in the region.

Agra man gets life term for killing wife over dowry
Agra: A court here has sentenced a 30-year-old man to life imprisonment for strangling his wife to death over dowry on Aug 31, 2022. After killing his wife, the husband burned her face to mislead investigators into believing her death was accidental. District govt counsel (DGC) Basant Gupta said that Manoj Goswami, who worked at a factory in Agra, initially claimed that Kumkum (26) had suffered burn injuries while preparing tea. He informed her brother, Saurabh Goswami, about her "accidental death" early that morning. But the autopsy report confirmed that Kumkum had died due to strangulation, not burns, exposing the murder. The next day, Kumkum's other brother, Akhilesh Goswami, lodged a police complaint, following which an FIR was registered against Manoj under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 498A (cruelty against a married woman), along with relevant sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Gupta said, "Manoj and Kumkum tied the knot on Feb 10, 2015. Soon, Kumkum began facing harassment over dowry. She had confided in her family about repeated demands and physical and emotional abuse. A formal complaint was filed at Sadar police station on April 11, 2018, against Manoj and his family. The matter was later resolved with a compromise, in which assurances were given that Kumkum would no longer be harassed and Manoj would be held responsible for any harm to her. During the trial, Manoj's defence sought leniency, citing that this was his first offence and that he has two young daughters to care for. However, dismissing the plea, sessions judge Sanjay Kumar Malik on Thursday sentenced Manoj to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of ₹10,000, with an additional three-month jail term in case of non-payment.
