Gregory given time to decide on Stags future
Mansfield Town striker Lee Gregory will be left to decide if he can continue his playing career with the club after recovering from injury, says Stags boss Nigel 36-year-old missed the final three months of last season with a knee issue, while a similar problem also kept him out for almost two months earlier in the former Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and Stoke City forward was limited to 20 League One appearances on his return to the club, but still managed to finish as Mansfield's second-top scorer with 10 goals last has continued his recovery with the Stags since the end of the season, while discussions about extending his stay have remained ongoing."We have left it with Lee, really," Clough told BBC Radio Nottingham."He is honest enough to say if his knee is not right. The only person who will know is Lee himself. So he is working hard to do everything he can, but we will know a bit more in the next few weeks."He is still doing his rehab at the moment and is training once every couple of days at the moment."Mansfield start their League One campaign on Saturday, 2 August at Clough's former side Burton Albion.

Walsall sign experienced defender Flint
Walsall have signed experienced defender Aden Flint on a one-year contract following his release by Mansfield Town. The 36-year-old spent two season with the Stags, making 93 appearances, and helped them win promotion from league Two in 2023-24. "I've been in the building over the last couple of weeks training, getting to know the lads and the staff so I'm glad to get it over the line," he told the club website. Boss Mat Sadler said: "He's had a brilliant career and he comes to us to add a different dimension to the backline. "His experience and his voice around some of our younger guys will be invaluable but he's not just here to be that, he wants to continue his career and have another successful chapter." Walsall begin their League Two season at home to Swindon Town on Saturday, 2 August. Find all the latest football transfers on our dedicated page

Popular Tourist Hotel Devolves Into Pool Brawl in Wild Video
A pool day turned perilous at a hotel in Benidorm, Spain, recently with over 10 men caught on video in an all-out brawl. The video, originally posted to TikTok, shows a man in a blue bathing suit getting out of the pool and pushing another man dressed in a black t-shirt, pants, and white sneakers into the pool. He then starts throwing punches at another man, who is seemingly a security guard or hotel employee. The scene swells from there, with the man dressed in black getting out of the pool and throwing punches back at the man in blue and a group of his friends all dressed in bathing suits. More security guards join the fray, with some trying to hold back the people fighting while others fight back. View the to see embedded media. As more employees join, the fighting turns to yelling and the camera pans to show a crowded pool full of other people watching. In the background of the fight, near the group of men in bathing suits, an English flag is being flown with the words 'Mansfield Town' and 'Ashs Stag 2025,' hinting that these may have been British tourists celebrating a bachelor party. A second video posted to the same TikTok page is captioned "what started it all, the bouncer hitting the British lad for having a laugh." In the video, the man originally in the blue bathing suit is seen -- naked -- jumping into the pool in front of a crowd of onlookers. He jumps directly onto the railing as he is chased by the security guard, who continuously tells the man to get out of the pool. The man goes deeper into the pool as he puts his bathing suit back on and his friends surround the security guard. The original brawl video, which is set to the popular Jet2 Holiday trending sound, garnered 250,000 likes in 48 hours. Though people around the world are laughing at the altercation, residents of Spain have been protesting the massive increase in tourism around the country. The major Middlesbrough decision Rob Edwards is still weighing up
ROB Edwards hasn't yet made a definitive decision on the formation his Middlesbrough side will play this coming season. Edwards' Luton Town side played with wing-backs, so the natural assumption when he was unveiled as Boro's head coach was that he'd adopt a similar approach at the Riverside. Indeed, Edwards' Boro side lined up with a back three and wing-backs at Mansfield Town on Saturday in what was their first domestic friendly of the summer. And it worked well. Boro raced into a three-goal first half lead at Field Mill, and impressed, before the League One side fought back in the second period after Edwards had made a raft of changes, which led to a shift to a back four. With Boro still chasing a transfer breakthrough this summer, Edwards felt a back three and wing-backs best suited the options he had at his disposal on Saturday and the starting XI that he selected. And for now it's something he will continue to assess game by game as Boro run through their series of pre-season friendlies in the next fortnight. Rather than be glued to one specific system, Edwards will remain open minded and judge what formation and approach best suits the squad and players he has available. "I think it fitted the XI that we put out there in the first half. Obviously we then changed to a back four later on when we made some changes. "I'm still fairly open. Depending on what we're able to get in recruitment wise, it might be that we are able to flip between a few things. "My main focus will be on principles and the way we go about things. I want us to be aggressive and I want us to press high. I want us to have control, and have that control as far away from our goal as possible. Try and attack quickly. "Whether that's with a three, a two or a four, it doesn't matter too much. "We'll probably make slight tweaks tactically within every game anywhere because every opposition offers you something different to have to work out. I wouldn't read too much into using a back three today. I just felt it suited the group that we had out there at the start." Edwards liked a lot of what he saw in the first half on Saturday, and is pleased with how the players have taken the coaching team's messages on board, but there's plenty he still wants to work on in the remaining friendlies and on the Rockliffe training pitches. 'I'd still like loads more," he said. "We're two and a half weeks in, so it's not going to be perfect by any stretch of the imagination. But we're seeing a desire to win the ball back quickly. "I think there were a lot of instances of that [at Mansfield], particularly in the first half. I saw some really good pressing which forced them to go long and meant we were able to take control. "I saw some really good pressing and some really good regains as soon as we lost it. I want us to be a little bit quicker in some of our attacking and a little bit more dynamic in our forward runs in that final third. "But that will come in time. I'm pleased with the progress, but we still want lots more."
