Bengaluru: Around 75,000 students participated in Karnataka Examinations Authority's UGCET-25 seat-allocation Manthana programme Saturday at govt engineering colleges across the state. The programme was arranged to help students navigate the seat-selection process. Higher education minister MC Sudhakar inaugurated the programme at the VTU-affiliated engineering college in Chintamani, Chikkaballapur, and interacted with students and parents, answering questions raised during the session. KEA executive director H Prasanna participated in the event at Government Engineering College in Hassan. Each participating college had one KEA representative and technical staff. Due to the large turnout, multiple sessions were conducted to facilitate smooth participation. Aiming to streamline the admission process for professional courses, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) organised the 'UGCET-2025 Seat Allocation Manthana' programme on Saturday at various government engineering colleges across the state, which received an overwhelming response. Higher Education Minister .M.C. Sudhakar inaugurated the programme at a VTU-affiliated engineering college in Chintamani andinteracted with students and parents, answering questions raised during the session. KEA executive director H. Prasanna participated in the event at the Government Engineering College in Hassan. Each participating college had one KEA representative and the necessary technical staff assigned. Due to the large turnout, multiple sessions were conducted to facilitate smooth participation. In Bengaluru, the Manthana event was held at BMS, Ambedkar, and SKIT engineering colleges. At BMS college of engineering alone, more than 10,000 people attended, prompting the use of 19 rooms to conduct simultaneous sessions. Commonly asked questions such as 'How does counselling work?', 'How to choose a college?', and 'How to do option entry?' were explained through video demonstrations detailing the entire seat allocation process. Participants were also cautioned against falling prey to fraudsters promising seat allotments through dishonest means. More than 75,000 students and parents directly benefited from this interactive programme. Mr. Prasanna informed that all the videos used during the Manthana programme will be uploaded to the KEA Vikasana YouTube channel.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will conduct UGCET-2025 – Interaction on Seat Allotment Process on Saturday, aiming to further streamline the professional course admission process by educating students and parents on each stage involved, said M.C. Across State The programme will be held across the State in 16 government engineering colleges, eight aided engineering colleges, six engineering colleges affiliated to VTU, and nine government polytechnic colleges located in districts where government engineering colleges are not available. The polytechnics where sessions will take place are located in Chikkamagaluru, Hubballi (Dharwad), KGF (Kolar), Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Udupi, Vijayapura, and Surapura (Yadagiri), the Minister explained. The event will address frequently asked questions such as: How does the counselling process work? How to choose a college?, and how to enter options? 'This programme offers an ideal opportunity for students and parents to visit their nearest college and get their queries resolved,' the Minister said. Perception exploited 'Some people wrongly assume that the CET seat allotment process is very complicated. Unfortunately, this perception has been exploited by certain individuals who have misled candidates and parents in the name of helping with seat allotment. Such fraudulent networks may still be active. To prevent this, 'Manthana' (interactive session) aims to provide transparent and reliable information to students and parents,' Mr. Sudhakar said. The process will be explained in a clear and impactful manner, with the help of live demonstrations.
