One Barcelona star misses first training session in Asia
A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was the sole absentee from the club's latest training session on Saturday. That's according to , who point towards Marc Bernal as the player in question. Hansi Flick's Barcelona squad are of course fresh off touching down in Japan, for the first leg of the club's pre-season tour of Asia. Ahead of a friendly meeting with Vissel Kobe on Sunday, the Blaugrana's stars were put through their paces in a training session earlier today. And of the 30 players called up by Hansi Flick and his staff, all but one played an active part in group activities. As per a report from Sport, youngster Marc Bernal was the sole Barca player to miss out, amid ongoing efforts on the part of the 18-year-old to recover full fitness following a long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury. A member of the first-team setup at La Liga giants Barcelona will not be available to play his part in Sunday's friendly fixture against Vissel Kobe. That's according to Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, who points towards Marc Bernal as the player in question. Youngster Bernal is for his part of course fresh off a challenging last 12 months. After establishing himself as a starting figure in Hansi Flick's Barcelona midfield early last season, an untimely ACL injury saw the 18-year-old ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. Bernal has since managed a return to the grass in training, taking part in elements of group training with his teammates. As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Spaniard is evidently not yet considered ready for competitive action. A long-sidelined member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Wednesday hinted that he is closing on an imminent return to the pitch. The player in question? Marc Bernal.
