Mi Cozumel margarita lovers can soon order a round at Newport on the Levee

Still waiting for Margaritaville to open at Newport on the Levee? Well, we don't have any updates on that front. But there will soon be a new Levee restaurant with more than 40 margarita flavors. Mi Cozumel, a popular Cincinnati-based Mexican restaurant, plans to open at the entertainment area this summer. The restaurant will be in a 5,770 square-foot space facing the Ohio River where Amador Cuban Restaurant was located before closing its doors earlier this year. The new Mi Cozumel restaurant will be the fifth location from the family-run business. 'We wanted to extend our concept to Northern Kentucky and bring our vibrant energy to The Levee. Stay tuned for many surprises, including new menu items like unforgettable daiquiris for the little ones,' Liliana Jaime, CEO of Mi Cozumel, said in a news release. The restaurant is known for its festive flair like its double margarita towers, wildly garnished cocktails, tableside food preparations and flaming fajitas. It was voted one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Greater Cincinnati area and one of the best Greater Cincinnati restaurants to get a margarita by CityBeat readers this year. The restaurant is one of the first to open at Newport on the Levee since a massive fire shuttered southbound Daniel Carter Beard Bridge for 100 days beginning last Nov. 1. That resulted in massive traffic jams that impacted businesses along the Ohio River. At least three businesses at the Levee – Amador Cuban Restaurant, Bridgeview Food Hall, The Brickery Cafe – closed during that time. Newport on the Levee also announced another business with plans to open soon. Cigars international is moving into a 5,700-square-foot space next to Cold Stone Creamery. It will feature a climate-controlled humidor, bar, lounge and outdoor patio. "The Levee location is not just a store – it's a community hub for cigar aficionados to come together, discover new blends, enjoy a relaxing environment, and expand their knowledge of our industry," Scott Vasko, vice president of retail at Cigars International, said in a news release. The company is the No. 1 cigar retailer in the United States. Including the Levee location, the business will likely have 15 stores across the country by the end of the year. Mysterious boat anchors itself off Flagler Beach, officials investigate

FLAGLER BEACH — Officials are trying to figure out what a boat is doing planted off shore south of the Flagler Beach Pier. The vessel had elevated itself off the surf Thursday evening a few hundred yards south of the city's shuttered pier. But Flagler Beach City Manager Dale Martin said Friday the vessel had nothing to do with the pier. He thinks the boat is related to an undersea cable project that is supposed to come ashore in the area, but he's working to confirm that. The vessel is a dive boat named the Polly L, according to It is 22 meters long and 12 meters wide or 72 feet by 39 feet. The boat left St. Augustine and headed south earlier Thursday. Now open in Flagler Beach: The Compass Hotel by Margaritaville 'It's 5 O'clock somewhere': Flagler Beach restaurant opens at Compass Hotel by Margaritaville As for the pier, Martin said crews are expected to start mobilizing in two weeks to begin taking down the battered Flagler Beach Pier. Once it's removed, they will start building the new pier. The project should take about 18 months, so the new pier is projected to be open by December 2026. While there has been news about changes at FEMA under the Trump administration, there is no indication that the $18 million in funding for the Flagler Beach Pier project is at risk. FEMA will fund 75% of the project while the Department of Emergency Management will fund 12.5% and the Department of Environmental Protection will fund another 12.5% . 'The city hasn't had any word that that funding is in jeopardy or has been reduced or anything at all,' Martin said. City Commissioner Scott Spradley also said he did not anticipate any issues with federal funding for the pier project. Spradley said in a phone interview Thursday that the money was already designated for the pier and it was highly unlikely that would change. ‘Wheel of Fortune' host Ryan Seacrest face-plants while attempting stunt on game show

'Wheel of Fortune' host Ryan Seacrest is no stranger to onstage mishaps. During the May 19 episode of the beloved game show, the 50-year-old TV host took a tumble during the closing segment, igniting a wholesome response from co-host Vanna White. While wrapping up the 'Margaritaville'-themed episode, Seacrest tripped over his feet and managed to do a full somersault while trying to get onto his inflatable parrot-shaped pool float. 'I need a breather after that,' he told White, who was comfortably lounging on her float. 'Why do you look like you've done this before?' 'Because I have. Just relax,' she responded. 'I've never heard that term before,' he joked. 4 Ryan Seacrest took a tumble during the closing segment of 'Wheel of Fortune.' @wheeloffortune/Instagram 4 While wrapping up the 'Margaritaville'-themed episode, Seacrest tripped over his feet and managed to do a full somersault. @wheeloffortune/Instagram 'Ryan Seacrest is my spirit animal,' one fan commented. This is not the first time the TV host has wiped out on stage. In April, Seacrest took a dramatic tumble while filming the game show. During the episode, he revealed that one of his favorite new festivals is the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Festival, which is hosted in the United Kingdom. 4 The fall happened during the May 19 episode of the beloved game show/ @wheeloffortune/Instagram He explained that participants at the festival race down a hill to chase after a wheel of cheese. At the end of the race, participants win the massive cheese wheel. In an effort to demonstrate, Seacrest took a tumble and face-planted on the stage. 'Oh no! Are you going to be OK?' White asked Seacrest before confirming, 'He's OK!' The 'American Idol' host ran back to center stage and held up the 'Wheel of Fortune' cheese. He then hid behind White, out of breath and waved goodnight to the viewers. 4 Co-host Vanna White's reaction to Seacrest face-planting. @wheeloffortune/Instagram In one viral moment from a March episode, a former professional wrestler named Bill Page put Seacrest in a headlock. Page was seen grabbing Seacrest by the neck, with one arm underneath the host's chin and the other firmly on top of his head. At first, Seacrest did not resist and was all smiles. However, as Page continued to hold the host in a headlock and lowered his body to the ground, Seacrest began to tap out. The host continuously banged his hand on the game show table, as he indicated that he had enough of the intense wrestling move.
