Who is Johnny Fisher? Fight record, stats, next bout, and more

Johnny Fisher returns to the ring this weekend when he faces Dave Allen for a second time, but who is the man they call the 'Romford Bull'? The unbeaten heavyweight garnered notoriety at the end of 2024 for his controversial victory over Allen – and his internet sensation father 'Big John'. But 26-year-old Fisher is a fighter first-and-foremost, a heavyweight with big ambitions on the world stage. Who is Johnny Fisher? Born and raised in Romford, Essex, Fisher was a keen sportsman as he grew up. Not only did he start boxing in his early teens, but his physique and strength translated well to rugby. Fisher briefly drifted away from the sweet science, but returned to boxing whilst studying history at Exeter University. Whilst at uni, he sparred with Joe Joyce, partly reigniting his love for the sport. He turned professional in 2021, securing a first-round stoppage against Matt Gordon at Wembley Arena. Fisher currently trains under the watchful eye of Mark Tibbs at the Origin Gym in Essex. What is Johnny Fisher's record? Fisher remains unbeaten since starting his professional career in 2021, with 13 wins from 13 bouts. Impressively, Fisher has won 11 of those fights by way of knockout, including a run of seven straight stoppages until his split decision win over Dave Allen last time out. After his debut in February 2021, Fisher racked up experience. He fought a further three times in 2021, before settling into a rhythm of three fights a year in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Aside from his victory against Allen, Fisher had respectable wins over Dmytro Bezus and Alen Babic, who had respectively records of 10-1 and 12-1 at the time. Fisher's bout with Bezus was staged in Las Vegas, with the 'Romford Bull' fighting on the undercard of Conor Benn's victory against Peter Dobson alongside stablemates George Liddard and Jimmy Sains. When is Johnny Fisher's next fight? Johnny Fisher returns to action this weekend, when he headlines a card at the Copperbox Arena, London, live on DAZN. He faces fellow Brit Dave Allen in a rematch, following Fisher's somewhat controversial victory against the Yorkshireman in Saudi Arabia last year. Knocked down by Allen, Fisher did well to recover, but many fans felt that the Romford Bull was beaten by his opponent. The card takes place on Saturday, May 17, with the main event ringwalks set for approximately 10pm.

Dave Allen delivers knockout of the year with sickening finish

Dave Allen scored a knockout of the year contender to brutally finish his Johnny Fisher rivalry. The 33-year-old Doncaster man was on the wrong end of a controversial decision against the Romford ticket seller, 26, in December in Saudi Arabia, The Sun reports. But he snatched his career out of the hands of the judges at Stratford's Copper Box by smashing Fisher in the fifth round with a brilliant left hook, leaving his opponent needing oxygen. Allen started the fight like a bull out of a gate as he came out slinging monster right hands in the direction of Fisher. After a back and forth war through the opening four rounds, Allen delivered in the fifth when he delivered a monstrous shot that turned Fisher's lights out. Watch the sickening KO of the year in the video player above Allen looped in a peach of a right in the last minute of the fifth and battered the Essex man until he folded to the floor. Fisher climbed to his unsteady feet and was about to be saved by the bell before Allen smashed him again. Fisher then face planted and trainer Mark Tibbs' towel flew in. Boxing journalist Dan Rafael wrote on X: 'WOW! Fisher takes a massive shot as rd 5 was ending, corner throws in the towel and Allen has the big TKO upset! That last shot and Fisher was out on his feet. Fisher had to have been well ahead at the time of the stoppage.' Overjoyed Allen - who had Fisher's 7,000 local fans cheering him at the end - said: 'I put a bit of weight on to take the body shots, it was a risk but I got it done. 'I will have an ensuite bathroom for my kids now. 'I have been written off so many times but I am a handful at this level. 'I knew I would get the job done, I warned him not to box me from the start. But I am the fattest hard man - or the hardest fat man - you will ever see. 'Johnny Fisher is a very good friend of mine and I meant it all the way through. 'I will not let the trilogy happen because I like Johnny and it wouldn't be good for him. 'I like to box at my level, I will be a bit smarter now and maybe pick up a British title one day.'

Johnny Fisher left needing oxygen as Dave Allen scores KO of the year contender in brutal fifth round stoppage

DAVE ALLEN scored a knockout of the year contender to brutally finish his Johnny Fisher rivalry. The 33-year-old Doncaster man was on the wrong end of a controversial decision against the Romford ticket seller, 26, in December in Saudi Arabia. 3 3 3 But he snatched his career out of the hands of the judges at Stratford's Copper Box by smashing Fisher in the fifth round with a brilliant left hook, leaving the brave history graduate needing oxygen. Allen barely threw a single punch in the first three rounds of the original Christmas cracker. But he flew out the traps slinging big right hands from the first bell. Fisher wisely chose to box, rather than brawl, but his defence showed signs of vulnerability from the off. Fisher was warned over a nasty elbow he tried to throw in the second but his one-two swiftly after was much more impressive and legal, as was a whipped uppercut. Allen - at a massive 19st - was hurt to the body by an uppercut in the third but he cracked back with hooks. Fisher was then warned over a low blow and late punch, after being told to break and he ate a hefty right hand in the fourth. Allen looped in a peach of a right in the last minute of the fifth and battered the Essex man until he folded to the floor. Fisher climbed to his unsteady feet and was about to be saved by the bell before Allen smashed him again. Fisher then face planted and trainer Mark Tibbs towel flew in.
