Married At First Sight star's wedding is ruined by cruel thief that has left her penniless: 'Now I can't afford it'
Married At First Sight star Cathy Evans has expressed her heartbreak after a cruel thief 'ruined' her upcoming wedding by stealing her bank card and going on a spending spree. The former reality star, 30, shared a photo to social media on Thursday in which she used a filter to hide her downcast appearance. She captioned the picture with some upsetting words: 'Thinking about the junkie c**t who stole my new bank card out of my letterbox this morning. 'They started spending heavily while I was slaving away at work. Now I can't afford my wedding, thanks junkie.' Cathy then reassured fans she was 'kidding' about not being able to afford the upcoming ceremony, but 'only just'. In December, Cathy announced her engagement to partner Richard after five years together. She revealed the exciting news via her Instagram while on holiday with her beau. Sharing a selfie as a newly-engaged couple, Cathy seemed thrilled with her new engagement status. 'First pic together as an engaged couple where I'm not sobbing,' she wrote alongside the photo. Cathy, who appeared on the Channel Nine dating show in 2020, later shared a separate video thanking her followers for their well wishes and congratulations. In the clip, the New Zealand-born influencer showed off her massive oval-cut diamond engagement ring that was set in gold. 'Thank you for all the messages guys,' she continued. 'We are in the biggest love bubble [right now] and our friends just arrived on our trip so we will be on and off socials. More to come later my loves.' Cathy debuted her relationship with Richard in August 2020, but later revealed they had been together for some time prior to that. The reality star met police officer Richard shortly after filming Nine's social experiment. 'I think I fell in love with every aspect of Ritchie's being – he is so supportive and believes in me, and that makes me so excited,' she told NW magazine in 2020. Cathy rose to fame on the popular Australian dating show Married At First Sight in 2020. She was paired with groom Josh Pihlak but they split during the experiment.

Another MAFS star rages at Jetstar for common problem with airline - after Jacqui Burfoot accused cabin crew of stealing her partner's $800 jacket
Former Married at First Sight bride Jamie Marinos has taken to social media to blast Jetstar. The 28-year-old marketing executive posted a selfie video to TikTok to complain about a lengthy delay on a recent Sydney to Melbourne flight. Declaring she was not a fan of the budget airline and preferred Jetstar's competitor Virgin Australia, Jamie complained that the money she saved on her journey 'cost' her time. 'Jetstar is cheaper,' she said during her one-and-a-half-minute rant, comparing the two carriers. 'But what they take from you is your time. And you can't get that back.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Jamie went on to list a set of grievances which appeared to relate to past experiences with the airline, including cancelled flights and frequent delays. She also noted that Jetstar passengers are charged for excess baggage as the carrier insists on a 20-kilogram limit. Filming a selfie in what appears to be Melbourne Airport, Jamie revealed she spent two hours in Sydney past her scheduled departure time. 'On the Sydney website, it said it was 45 minutes late,' she continued. 'They did not message me until five minutes after the original boarding time. 'You're going to gate-keep this information, Jetstar? You ain't going to tell me that I ain't getting on a friggin plane for another hour and a half?' Jamie added that Jetstar had attempted to explain the delay to her flight. '[They gave] every other excuse under the sun,' she said. 'Every other plane was leaving - no dramas, just mine. So I'm like spare me your excuses and your lies.' She also complained that Jetstar's port in Melbourne was 'too far' from the luggage pick-up and whinged about the menu available to passengers on her recent flight. 'I was annoyed, I wanted a ham and cheese toastie,' she said. However, Jamie finished her outburst with a surprising compliment for the airline. 'I made it here safely - that is all you can really ask for at the end of the day and the staff were really my God,' she said. Daily Mail Australia has approached Jetstar for comment. Jamie's post has attracted 185 comments since she shared her experience on the weekend - with many followers joining in to slam the airline. 'I don't think I've ever had a Jetstar flight that wasn't cancelled or delayed,' commented one user. 'Facts girl! You get what you pay for hey,' added another. Jamie showed a sense of humour about her experience in the thread. 'I love how dramatic I am, yet I'm so supported,' she said. It comes after another former MAFS star, Jacqui Burfoot, was slammed for accusing Jetstar of stealing her partner, Clint Rice's, jacket. Burfoot took to TikTok earlier this month to recount an ordeal while flying with the budget airline. 'Clint and I flew Jetstar. We never pick Jetstar, we are not fans of Jetstar because they're just budget. They do things poorly,' Jacqui said. Jacqui went on to explain that when she and Clint recently caught a flight with the airline, she was wearing her partner's Hugo Boss jacket, worth 'somewhere between $400 and $800', to keep her legs warm. 'The flight attendant came over and said, "Hey, we need to put your jacket away, can I please take that jacket from you?" And I was like, "Yeah, sure. Fine,"' she recalled. The reality bride said the couple forgot about Clint's jacket until they arrived at their hotel. Already miffed about leaving the jacket behind, Jacqui became enraged when she called Jetstar to report the garment missing - and was told it was not in lost property. This did not sit well with Jacqui, who then accused the cabin crew of taking off with Clint's jacket. Jacqui's rant drew a flurry of comments from followers, with many slamming the reality star for suggesting the airline would pilfer the article of clothing. One user summed up the sentiment of many with: 'Your jacket, your problem.' Jacqui returned to TikTok the following day to share a shock twist in the mile-high ordeal. This time, Clint also featured in the clip, and he was happy to report the jacket had been found.

'Fresh take': NSW Police investigation into Married At First Sight quietly dropped after five months as Nine insiders hint at major changes to format
A police investigation that cast a shadow over the last season of Channel Nine's Married At First Sight has been quietly dropped after five months. NSW Police launched the investigation into the reality TV juggernaut in February after groom Paul Antoine punched a wall, sparking fan outrage. A NSW Police spokesperson on Wednesday told that "following an investigation conducted by officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command, no further police action is expected." The matter has now been resolved privately and out of the spotlight, and MAFS producers are promising a 'fresh take' on the dating show's format, which has dominated Australian reality TV for more than a decade. Nine launched a full-scale reset for the show's highly anticipated 2026 season, reportedly issuing a very clear directive: 'Go hard on challenging the participants, but keep the drama out of the courtroom.' can reveal that the network has implemented stricter background checks, more in-depth psychological screening, and tough new guidelines aimed at avoiding another police scandal. 'Safe Work was also heavily involved in reviewing the show's future, and Channel Nine has taken their recommendations very seriously,' a network insider said. 'They want compelling TV but not at the expense of cast wellbeing or legal risk.' Casting for the 2026 season is now complete, and filming is officially set to begin later this month in Sydney. The staple drama-filled events, including the infamous hens and bucks parties, will be first to kick off at a private Sydney residence. The full lineup of brides and grooms have meanwhile commenced preparation for an intense 12-week production schedule. Insiders say next year's couples reflect a shift away from 'influencer types' and toward 'everyday Australians' genuinely seeking love. 'There's a lot less slicked-back hair and neck tattoos and a lot more relatability,' one casting source told 'This cast feels real, and that's a big part of what we're aiming for in 2026.' While Channel Nine has yet to confirm an official air date for the next season, MAFS season 13 is expected to premiere in January 2026. Returning relationship experts John Aiken, Alessandra Rampolla, and Mel Schilling are committed and will fly in from across the globe to participate. 'John's back from Thailand, Alessandra's flying in from the US, and Mel's just wrapped commitments in the UK," a production source said. "They're all excited to be reuniting." It comes as the final weeks of pre-production weren't without stress. 'We struggled a bit locking in the last few grooms,' the source said. 'We had some really strong women and didn't want to lose them, so it was a bit of a puzzle to get the right matches.' As for the weddings, locations have been secured, but the dates for the for the nuptials still remain under wraps, even from the cast themselves. 'They've all (the cast) flown in for promotional shoots but still haven't been told who they're marrying or when,' one insider said. 'There's a lot of nervous energy. Everyone's hoping for love and not the bad edit.' Despite fan scepticism over past promises of format changes, insiders believe this season could really deliver something genuinely different. 'Every year we hear it'll have a new vibe,' one long-time production staffer quipped. 'But this time, the cast, the experts, even the tone. It actually feels different.'

Sam Thompson spending time with Zara McDermott lookalike after second Love Island split
Former Made In Chelsea star, Sam Thompson, has been getting to know a holistic nutritionist from America after calling it quits with Love Island's Samie Elishi Sam Thompson is "spreading his wings again" after calling time on his relationship with Love Island's Samie Elishi. The Made In Chelsea star, 32, has had a rocky road to romance this year following his split with ex Zara McDermott, who has now moved on with Louis Tomlinson, in December. There were high hopes for Sam and Samie after they were seen snogging in the street in Chelsea in May, but they parted ways recently, with sources blaming their busy schedules - and Sam later adamant that he wouldn't date until he'd 'worked on himself'. However, two weeks later he enjoyed a drink with a holistic nutritionist from America called Steph Robinson, who posts lots of shots of herself posing in her bikini on Instagram - and who looks a lot like Zara. According to the Mail, the pair are said to have been seen on several dates together in the capital, where Steph, who recently attended Wimbledon and visited a host of beauty and wellness clinics, where she had a Sofia Richie inspired lymphatic drainage massage - which she 'highly recommended' - is currently living. Captioning an Instagram post in June, which was liked by Sam, she wrote: "London, I will be seeing a lot more of you soon." However, Sam's rep told the Mirror that the reality star wasn't dating anyone, but did confirm Sam and Steph enjoyed a drink together with a group of friends. A source told the Mail: "Sam and Steph have been on a few dates and are getting to know each other. They connected over Instagram and didn't waste any time to meet in person, especially given Steph isn't always in town. "Steph travels a lot for her work as a content creator but is currently spending an extended period in London and it couldn't have come at a better time. "Sam is definitely having fun as a single man, going out when he isn't working, and spreading his wings." The I'm A Me Out Of Here! winner was reportedly spotted on celebrity dating app Raya post-breakup from Samie and recently admitted he needed time to heal before getting to know someone new, telling pal, Pete Wicks: "I'm going to work on myself. No dating, I'm not ready and I've realised that." It comes after he broke up with Zara after five years together in a split, which was said to have left Sam 'blindsided'. Zara is now in a relationship with One Direction's Louis, with Sam appearing to make a dig at his ex when he spoke to Married At First Sight guru, Paul C Brunson. Appearing on We Need To Talk, Sam quipped: "A lot of people look for validation in other people and they look for the next person instantly. It's like, 'I need to find someone else to fill that hole and I need to find that excitement. "You know when you get that excited feeling when you are talking to someone new and fresh?" he added. "I can't do that."

Yet the controversial MAFS alum - who faced allegations of bullying and was at the centre of a series of spats during his time on the show - attempted to make light of his mystery condition in the caption. He wrote: "Turns out there's no cure for narcissicsm. "Sorry guys." His medical condition is currently unclear. The worrying news comes just months after Harrison announced his engagement to girlfriend Gina Ha, who he has been dating for just over a year. MAFS CHAOS It was an unhappier time for Harrison on the reality TV series. He was swiftly hailed a show villain for allegedly gaslighting his wife. Harrison first caused a stir when he upset bride Bronte on their wedding day. One of her bridesmaids told her that Harrison had been dating a girl in the lead up to the wedding, and wanted to be with her when he finished the show. MAFS Australia star reveals she's back with her ex While Bronte gave him the benefit of the doubt, she later slept with him on honeymoon, only for him to remark that there was "no chemistry" between them. Later in the series, Harrison was accused of 'bullying' for the way he spoke about the other couples during the commitment ceremonies. When Evelyn challenged him, they exchanged a war of words, prompting Melinda to jump in with: "You're just a rude guy! It's bullying. It's attacking everyone here.' Mafs couples that have stood the test of time Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby. The pair couldn't keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam's Doncaster home. Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau. Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December. Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: 'I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out - and excited for everything to come.' Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019. Owen recalled: 'I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work. "While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in. 'The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if I signed up?' 'A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.' Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson. Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna's vegan lifestyle, the show's first same sex pairing are still going strong. They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod. Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: "We're not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship." But Harrison was having none of it, firing back: "'It's not bullying. Don't play the sex card, grow up!". Needless to say, he and Bronte didn't go the distance and split before final vows. 'Harrison, we're done, we're over and I honestly never want to see you again," Bronte shouted at him when they split during the final dinner party. After the series aired, Harrison hit out amid the fan backlash. He said: "The network hid 90 per cent of Bronte's behaviour, so imagine how bad she must have been what they didn't show, in order for her to look equally as bad as me, when I'm just reacting to it." 6 It came just months after he revealed his engagement Credit: Instagram / harrison_boon_ 6 He popped the question to Gina Ha in October Credit: Instagram / harrison_boon_
