Next Stay Close ✕ The brave couples are Palesa Mphaki and Tshepo Miya, Makoto Phumodi and Nkuleleko Mahlangu, Themba Khosa and Nelisa Ntabeni, and Portia Baloyi and Bongani Luvalo, who are now navigating life as married couples. In the last dramatic episode, we saw cracks starting to show in Palesa and Tshepo's marriage. Palesa suspects that her new husband, who's expressed admiration for polygamy, might be cheating on her. We recently caught up with Palesa to get the tea on joining the show, her relationship with Tshepo, and more. What made you say yes to joining Married at First Sight South Africa? I said yes to Married at First Sight South Africa for the experience, with the objective of discovering affection through an unorthodox approach. How has it been watching yourself on screen? Watching myself on screen has been a peculiar experience, yet I am grateful for the occasion to observe myself from a distinct perspective. Are people starting to recognise you in public? What's that experience been like? Yes, people are beginning to take notice of me. I'm gradually becoming accustomed to the stares and whispers that surround me. It's quite amusing to observe. I appreciate those who are bold enough to approach and acknowledge me when I'm out and about. The recognition is gratifying, and I'm slowly becoming more comfortable with it. When you first laid eyes on Tshepo at the altar, what was going through your mind? When I first laid eyes on Tshepo, I was slightly shocked. I mean, I had said I wasn't into super skinny guys but I hadn't anticipated meeting a pretty chubby dude at the altar. But hey, I know that looks aren't everything, so I was still willing to give it a shot. What's been the biggest challenge of being married to a complete stranger? The most significant challenge when it comes to being married to a stranger is the aspect of discovering their darker side, as well as gaining insight into the reasons behind their continued single status. The polygamy conversation seemed to strike a nerve. What about it triggered that reaction? The polygamy question truly took me aback. I couldn't understand why he would even bring up such a topic. What has being on the show taught you? Being on the show taught me that not everyone is completely honest in their actions and movements. It was a real eye-opener. And what has it taught you about love and relationships? It has taught me the importance of setting healthy boundaries and not allowing others to take advantage of my good nature. I have learned to stand up for myself while still being respectful and considerate of others. Overall my time on the show has been a valuable learning experience that has helped me grow both personally and professionally. From the episodes that have aired so far, whose journey have you enjoyed watching the most and why? I am truly savouring and relishing the journey of Makoto and Nkululeko. There is something incredibly compelling about focusing on those who are frequently misunderstood or misjudged by society. Their stories and experiences add depth and richness to our understanding of the world, and I find great value in paying close attention to their paths. Especially because I know the show is not scripted. What's your relationship like with the other cast members off-camera? I have conversations with Makoto nearly every day, and I engage in frequent discussions with Nelisa. However, Portia's communication with me is dead. Why do you think people should keep watching your journey on the show? People should watch because the storyline is brimming with potential developments, and one can only anticipate the surprises that await those who remain vigilant and engaged. The road ahead is filled with intrigue and uncertainty. IOL

MAFS UK star Rozz Darlington gives birth after ill-fated wedding and reveals sweet name
Married at First Sight star Rozz Darlington has welcomed a baby girl with her partner Jordan Morris, two years on from her ill-fated wedding on the E4 show Married At First Sight star Rozz Darlington his given birth to a baby girl. The florist, 30, first became known when she met and married Thomas Kriaras on the E4 reality show in 2023, memorably arriving to her own nuptials on a tractor. The pair did not stay together, and Rozz later struck up a relationship with Jordan Morris. The pair have been together for over two years, and on Saturday, she announced that she and her partner have welcomed a daughter. Alongside a snap of herself, Jordan and the newborn in a hospital bed, she wrote on Instagram: "A baby Girl!!! Arabella Morris - Darlington has arrived! 8th August weighing 6lb 10! We are so in love." MAFS co-star Adrienne Naylor said: "Aww congratulations," whilst fellow bride Sophie Brown said: "wahhhhh huge congrats!" Several fans of the TV star also flooded the comments section of her post with their wellwishes, with one writing: "Congratulations to you all, beautiful name, beautiful baby xx", and another said: "Aww you did it! What a gorgeous little angel" and embellished their comment with a heart eyes emoji. It comes after a Strictly Come Dancing star pulls out of show as he makes career announcement. Earlier this year, Rozz made the surprise announcement that she was expecting with an adorable video on social media. Alongside the video, Rozz said: "We've been keeping a secret!! Baby Morris - Darlington Due August. A crazy start to 2025!" Rozz and Thomas endured rocky time on the show together after they said their vows decided to call it a day before the series was done. The TV star moved on with Jordan, thanks to a little help from her neighbour. Recounting the sweet start of their love story, Rozz shared: "I was out with my neighbour in Manchester and she said, 'My cousin just messaged saying, are you out with Rosaline Darlington?' I then thought he's cute and added him on Instagram." Rozz and Jordan went Instagram official in June last year, yet Rozz confessed that going public was nerve-wracking, as she worried about potential negative reactions towards Jordan due to her relationship drama with Thomas. She told OK!: "At first I was like, 'Oh God, what are people going to be like?' "But people have been generally nice towards Jordan since we went Instagram official. I've had a few comments, but people just form their opinion of you as long as it's hate towards me and not him," she said. "For me, Thomas is the nation's sweetheart and he is amazing, people do love him, so I didn't want anyone to be rude towards Jordan or for him to receive any hate." Rozz added: "He's not like Thomas, but I was apprehensive because people judge others and I wanted to protect Jordan from all of that. I put myself out there in the public eye, Jordan didn't, so it's very difficult. But you've just got to do what's right for you. Time moves on, people heal and people change." Rozz recalled how romance blossomed between her and Jordan after they enjoyed a date night out in Cheshire at the start of the year. "It was dead relaxing and chilled it was just silly from the get-go," she told the outlet. "On the show, I was quite guarded and scared of falling in love when it came down to it, but it's been easy. We've both got the same sense of humour, we're quite silly, we don't take each other too seriously and I feel like personality is a huge part. You want someone to be like your best friend."

Finally, a Netflix dating show for us painfully awkward introverts
As someone who enjoys both a) watching people fall in love, and b) any form of entertainment that allows my overactive brain to switch off – or, even better, rot a little – dating shows are one of my fave genres. The Bachelor, Love Is Blind, Married at First Sight, The Farmer Wants a Wife, Love Triangle, Too Hot to Handle … you name it, I've watched at least one episode of it (and probably 167 more). But lately I've grown increasingly dissatisfied with the genre, as more and more shows became less about people finding a match and more about them getting half a million followers on Instagram and/or a foot in the door of the Netflix Dating Show Cinematic Universe, which seems more viable as a career path than an actual road to romance. And while I enjoy hate-watching and drama and epic dinner-party showdowns as much as the next reality-TV fan, I also actually, genuinely want to watch people I like find love and happiness – a concept that's alarmingly rare in a genre in which that is ostensibly the whole premise. Enter: Better Late Than Single, a new South Korean dating show that is so compelling it's quickly become my favourite I've watched in a long time. The conceit is that the contestants have never actually been in a relationship before – and not in a 'party boy who only hooks up' kinda way (like most of the cast of Love Island, for instance). No, the Better Late Than Single cohort are more the 'so awkward they can't even make eye contact' variety. There's even a term for them in Korean – motae solo, which basically translates as 'single since mother's womb' or, as Netflix more succinctly subtitles it in English, 'eternally single'. That's right, the cast are all – and I say this with the utmost affection – massive losers. Massive, relatable losers. In other words, they're just like us! In the first episode, one contestant says she's single because she hates leaving the house – like, one time she didn't go outside for a whole month and she forgot how to actually talk to people. Relatable! Another contestant reveals she just has high standards – like, if someone moves their eyebrows too much or holds their chopsticks wrong, she gets the ick. Relatable! Then there's the guy who just wants to wear pop culture T-shirts and eat delicious food and do karaoke alone every day. Relatable!

Tourist on holiday in Spanish resort finds empty sunbeds for unexpected reason
A Married at First Sight UK star went on holiday in Palma, Majorca and shared that there were plenty of empty sunbeds at the resort he stayed at for a surprising reason Many Brits like to go away on European beach holidays at this time of year seeking sun and hot weather that we don't get a lot of in the UK in summer. It's not unusual for it to rain and be a bit cold in Britain during this season and there might even be strong winds and storms, like Storm Floris that hit the UK on Monday, August 4. This dreary weather is what prompts Brits to get on a plane and take a flight to holiday destinations in Europe, including Spain, Greece and Italy. Plenty of tourists dream of laying on a sunbed around a pool with the sun beaming down on them and there have been multiple reports of 'sunbed wars' in resorts. However, when Kieran Chapman, known for starring on Married at First Sight in 2024, stayed at a resort in Palma, Majorca he didn't have to wait for a free sunbed at all. He shared a clip on TikTok showing that they were all empty due to the unexpected heavy rain. Despite this, the TV star still lounged on a sunbed and seemed to enjoy the very wet weather as he laid down in a relaxed position with his eyes closed. Palma is the capital city of Majorca, Spain and the largest of the Balearic Islands. It is popular for its beaches, nightlife and climate as it is often sunny and warm in the summer months with little rain so it appears that Kieran got unlucky with the weather. The TikTok video shows that the celebrity, from Newcastle, didn't mind getting soaked by the pouring rainfall. No other guests at the resort can be seen in the clip so Kieran, who is a mechanic, got to enjoy some peace and quiet without letting the British style weather ruin his time. The post has no audio apart from the viral Jet2holidays voiceover meme that has been added to many funny travel videos on TikTok. Kieran's clip has garnered 362,800 views, 16,200 likes and more than 200 comments, at the time of writing. Viewers found humour in the video as one said: 'The rays still get to you through the clouds.' Another added: 'When you're used to English weather.' While a third chimed in: 'That's probably more relaxing than lying in the hot sun.' Someone else commented: 'No towels on the sun beds, get innnn.' A fifth had a similar thought as they remarked: 'At least there's no queues for the chairs.' Others left comments, such as 'this made me laugh', 'making the most of it' and 'I'm actually howling.' The Newcastle mechanic isn't the first holidaymaker to experience this as others have been met with rain in hotspots that are usually sunny and shared similar clips on social media.
