Kid Cudi Speaks Out After Testifying in Sean "Diddy" Combs Trial

Shortly after appearing in court to testify in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal sex trafficking trial, the "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper—whose real name is Scott Mescudi—shared a message thanking his fans for their support. "Hey guys, I just wanna say I've been seeing all the love and support," Mescudi said in a video shared to X (formerly Twitter) May 22. "I just wanna say thank you so much, man. People have been hitting me up the past week, just checking in—even today." Noting that all the kind words "really mean a lot to me," the 41-year-old went on admit he feels relieved to have closed this chapter of his life. "This is a stressful situation," Mescudi said. "I'm glad it's behind me." Concluding his message, he added, "I love y'all, man. Big love." Kid Cudi Details Call With Sean 'Diddy' Combs During Alleged Break-In

"He said, 'What's up?,'" Mescudi testified, per NBC News, 'and I said, 'Motherf--ker, are you in my house?' He said, 'I am here waiting for you.'" Adding that Combs—who has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution—seemed 'calm' when he picked up the phone, the 41-year-old alleged that he called the police while on his way to the house because 'I don't know what his intentions are.' While testifying in the trial over four days, Ventura—who dated Combs off and on for 10 years before their 2018 split—previously alleged that she broke up with Mescudi after the Bad Boy Records founder threatened the both of them. '[There was] too much uncertainty if we continued to see each other,' Ventura said during her May 14 testimony, per NBC News. 'Sean said he was going to hurt the both of us.' Ventura—who did not disclose the nature of her relationship with Combs at the time—also went on to allege that Combs became 'irate' when he found out about her relationship with Mescudi as well as physically violent. 'I just remember him putting a wine opener between his fingers," she alleged, "and lunging at me." In addition to his alleged physical violence, Ventura testified that Combs threatened to release videos of her participating in his alleged 'freak off' parties if she continued seeing Mescudi. And beyond that, she alleged that he went as far as telling her that 'Scott's car would be blown up' in early 2012. Sean "Diddy" Combs Trial: Kid Cudi's Car Blown Up By Molotov Cocktail

The "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper (whose real name is Scott Mescudi) took the stand during the Bad Boy Records founder's federal sex trafficking trial on May 22 during which he detailed his experiences with the music mogul amid his brief romance with Cassie Ventura. During his testimony, Mescudi—who dated the "Me & U" singer from 2011 to 2012, amid her decade-long, on-and-off relationship with Combs—shared his perspective on an incident in which his car caught fire and blew up in his driveway. Mescudi testified, per NBC News, that in February 2012 he was alerted by the babysitter for his dog that his car was on fire while he was not at home. The prosecution shared images of Mescudi's Porsche which, according to NBC News, showed a Molotov cocktail inside the vehicle. Mescudi's testimony isn't the first time Combs' suspected threats have been brought up in the trial, where Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. Earlier this month, Ventura also detailed the 55-year-old's alleged behavior after finding out she was dating Mescudi. During her May 14 testimony, the "Long Way 2 Go" singer alleged that Combs was "irate" when he discovered her relationship with Mescudi and became physically violent. After Sean "Diddy" Combs' former assistant George Kaplan testified at the rap mogul's sex trafficking trial, Cudi—real name Scott Mescudi—entered the witness box May 22, according to NBC News reporters in the courtroom. The "Day 'n' Night" rapper recounted a phone call he had with Combs as the Bad Boy Records founder and his associates allegedly broke into his home in December 2011 after learning that Mescudi and his ex had a brief romance.
