Hearn intimates Taylor Bevan to return on July Queensberry Promotions show in Bournemouth
Promoter Eddie Hearn has intimated that super-middleweight Taylor Bevan will return in July on a card to be held in Bournemouth. Bevan, 4-0 (4), will fight on as-yet-unannounced opponent. This weekend, he beat Juan Cruz Cacheiro, 7-5 (3), at the Copper Box Arena in London. Now, Hearn has said that Bevan will return on the Queensberry Boxing card, notable since Hearn's Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotions have traditionally been rivals. Hearn told BBC Sport: 'He's looking really good. People said, 'At what point do you get excited about Taylor Bevan?' I said, 'About a year ago.' The support is unbelievable, the shot selection, the performances. He said he wasn't happy about his performance tonight. And I said, 'Why!?'' Catch all the latest boxing action on DAZN It is understood that the July card will be held at the Bournemouth International Centre. Hearn said that he had been talking with Queensberry Promotions about including Bevan on that card, with an announcement to be made this week. The main event on Bournemouth event will be between Ryan Garner, 17-0 (8), and Reece Belotti, 20-5 (15). Garner last fought at the same venue in March, when he outpointed Salvador Jimenez over twelve rounds. Bellotti, meanwhile, last fought in February when he stopped Michael Gomez Jr in ten rounds at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester. Back to this weekend, and Bevan, who won by stoppage in the second round, also told BBC Sport that he had not been happy with his performance. He said: 'I thought that one would be the test and take me a few more rounds. I was looking to break him down over the six rounds, then get him out towards the end of the fight. The ref jumped in in the second round and it was a bit of an early stoppage, but I'll watch it back and assess that.' He added: 'It's not frustration with the ref, but with my own performance. I took a few more shots than I wanted. My own performance, I don't know how early it was because I haven't watched it back yet. But I would have liked for it to go on a little longer, so I could have improved how I was boxing.' Hearn, however, said that he had no issues with Bevan's win, saying that he had beaten a tough opponent who had recently gone the distance with a tough Argentinian who had last fought in the UK in March, losing a points decision to fellow unbeaten prospect Aaron Bowen, 4-0 (3). Hearn said: '[ Cacheiro ] beat [ Durval Elias ] Palacio, who just had a won with [ Imam ] Khataev. He's a tough, tough man. I thought the stoppage was a bit early, but it was only going one way. It just looks really, really good. I almost want to fast-forward the career of Taylor Bevan, but you have to give him the learning experience of going through six, eight, ten rounds. I really want him to be there now, because I think he's good enough. I'm looking forward to the future.' Lewis Crocker v Paddy Donovan rematch off the cards for Windsor Park
The much-anticipated rematch between Paddy Donovan and Lewis Crocker now looks set to take place in the SSE Arena, the venue of their first bout. This is despite hopes that the clash would be held in Windsor Park, the home of Northern Irish football. It appears the outdoor venue would be too expensive to host the fight, according to Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn. The promoter told The Ring magazine: 'There's now a very good chance it won't be at Windsor... We will probably now do it at the arena. 'The issue with going outside is, with the costs and everything, you've got to be doing more than 20,000 tickets to make the delta positive of doing it in an arena with 9,000. That's a huge amount of tickets. 'Would it do 15 or 16,000? Probably. And don't get me wrong, I love an outdoor show. But there's also a lot to be said about going into an absolutely packed out arena. The atmosphere last time was ******* mental and it'll be even more wild the second time around. 'We are just finalising everything with the two fighters, and in late August or maybe early September I think you'll see the rematch and the arena looks most likely.' The pair first met on March 1 in a final eliminator for the IBF welterweight title, with Donovan controlling the early stages. The fight was soon awarded to Crocker after Donovan landed a punch on the Belfast native after the bell sounded at the end of the eighth round. Donovan's camp was furious with the decision, as he had already been deducted points by referee Marcus McDonnell for using his elbow and head illegally in rounds six and eight. The Limerick fighter's trainer Andy Lee said: "Marcus McDonnell's performance was a disgrace. "Up there with the worst I've ever seen. Both guys were leaning in with their heads." A rematch was ordered by the IBF in late March, with the winner of the bout becoming the mandatory challenger for the IBF welterweight crown. Wherever the fight may be and whoever takes the victory, there are sure to be fireworks in Belfast.

Josh Padley Delivers His First Win Under Promoter Eddie Hearn
After an impressive performance against Shakur Stevenson in Riyadh back in February, Josh Padley impressed Eddie Hearn so much that the Matchroom Boxing chairman gave him a contract. Just two months after the fight in Riyadh and now under a contract with Matchroom Boxing, Josh Padley got his chance to bounce back at the Park Community Arena in Sheffield, England. Advertisement Eager to impress, the British boxer who was working as an electrician just a few months ago did not disappoint his British fans among the crowd. Josh Padley (16-1, 5 KOs) was going into the ring to face Serbia's Marko Cvetanovic (13-1, 6 KOs). Up to this night, Marko was unbeaten, and this was his first defeat since going pro. Padley did not hold back as he came out guns blazing from the start of the match. It only took him five rounds to get the Referee, Steve Gray, to halt the contest. Although Marko was getting a beat down in every round, the Serbian did not want to throw in the towel and tried to soldier on until the referee had to intervene. Marko got knocked down twice in the fifth round but managed to beat the count from the referee. In the first knockdown, Padley landed nonstop left-right combinations on the Serbian until he trapped him against the ropes, then put him on the canvas after landing repeated shots. Advertisement When the fight resumed, Padley continued what he had started, he finally landed three right-hand shots to the head sending him down. Though he managed to get up, the referee decided to halt the fight. This performance has increased the confidence in Josh Padley and Matchroom Boxing that they made the right call in signing the former electrician and now full-time boxer. Padley's only hope will be that this is the start of much greater accomplishments to come his way.
