EV owners can charge cars for free for a week in network expansion

New EV sites are popping up across the country Electric vehicle motorists are being offered complimentary charging for an entire week as a new ultra-rapid charging facility is completed. RAW Charging, which is operating the site, is marking the launch with seven days of cost-free charging. ‌ It's part of its Connecting Amazing Places summer initiative, designed to enhance day trips for EV owners nationwide. Between Monday, July 21, and Sunday, July 27, all electric vehicle users can power up their cars without charge at the new location, McArthurGlen West Midlands. ‌ The facility boasts 10 charging bays, featuring two priority spaces and contactless payment systems. While vehicles charge, drivers can browse more than 65 designer outlets alongside various cafés and eateries. ‌ RAW Charging said that the site's completion "reinforces RAW's long-term partnership with McArthurGlen Group, which has seen the installation of more than 385 EV charging bays across the group's UK and European portfolio". This West Midlands development represents the final UK venue to become operational. The new West Midlands hub forms part of a nationwide promotion running throughout RAW's network from mid-July into August. The campaign showcases RAW's expanding presence at popular retail, leisure and hospitality venues across Britain. ‌ Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, said: "We're thrilled to bring our West Midlands destination online to complete the broader programme with McArthurGlen. This activation reinforces RAW's role as a key infrastructure partner for retail locations across Europe. "To celebrate the launch and the start of our Summer of Connecting Amazing Places campaign, we're offering a week of free charging - helping drivers experience just how easy and enjoyable sustainable travel can be." David Jackson, who oversees UK facilities at McArthurGlen and manages the West Midlands centre, said: "This project is another great example of RAW's ability to deliver high-impact solutions for everyday destinations. As EV ownership grows, it's essential that infrastructure grows with it - and this new West Midlands hub is designed to make sustainable driving simple for local communities and visitors alike."

Name It, a childrenswear label belonging to Danish group Bestseller, has opened its first monobrand stores in France. Until now, Name It was distributed in the country only through the wholesale channel. Two stores have already opened, and a third will follow shortly. The stores are operating as inventory clearance outlets. The first Name It store opened in March within the McArthurGlen outlet village in Roubaix. A second opened in the Marques Avenue outlet village in Talange, and the third, set to open in June, will be located inside the Designer Outlet retail village in Paris-Giverny. Name It was created by the Bestseller group in 1986, one of 20 brands owned by the group. It is positioned in the mid-range segment, and its cheerful childrenswear is targeted to kids from 0 to 16 years old. Name It operates nearly 140 monobrand stores worldwide, and is present in 20 markets in total, being also distributed via multibrand retailers. Name It stores have recently opened in Germany (in Potsdam and Berlin) and in Sweden (in Marieberg). The Bestseller group is pushing to expand in France. It has been active in extending the retail footprint of womenswear chain Only, whose goal is to open 200 addresses on the French market in five years, but also in introducing new brands to France. Like Rouge Edit, a womenswear label created in 2024, which is trying to make inroads with fashion retailers through its premium positioning and directional style.
