Kaizer Chiefs midfielder to restart his career in KZN?
Mduduzi Mdantsane has been forgotten as a Kaizer Chiefs footballer. New reports suggest the dream is over. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder from Leandra, Mpumalanga, first made his name at Baroka FC in 2017 before playing his best football at Cape Town City FC in 2019. Kaizer Chiefs came calling in 2023. With only 16 appearances at Kaizer Chiefs, Mdantsane was surprisingly loaned out to Richards Bay FC in January. The skilful attacker played no more than three games at the Natal Rich Boyz as he looks ahead to preseason with Amakhosi. Nevertheless, reports say Richards Bay are keen to sign Mdantsane from Kaizer Chiefs. 'He didn't play much this season after joining the team in January but it's believed that the technical team is interested in keeping him after the loan deal ends,' Soccer Laduma reported. 'Apparently, they believe he has a lot to offer to the team because of his experience. 'I don't think it will be a problem from Kaizer Chiefs' point of view as even in this past season they were willing to let him go permanently but at that time there was not much interest in signing him permanently. 'But apparently at the moment Richards Bay have shown interest and it's believed it will all depend on the talks and negotiations. But the interest is there from Richards Bay,' the insider concluded. Forgotten star set to return to Kaizer Chiefs!
Kaizer Chiefs are set to make some big decision with regards to their squad ahead of the next season. Chiefs completed yet another season where they failed to get into the top eight, despite winning the Nedbank Cup. This means that they will not compete in the MTN8 for the second season in a row. That failure is thought to lead to a mass exodus of players ahead of the next campaign. Already for last season Chiefs got rid of some deadwood in two windows. The likes of Itumeleng Khune, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sifiso Hlanti and Keagan Dolly were dismissed ahead of pre-season. Then after pre-season the likes of Sabelo Radebe and In the January window they continued with their exodus, Christian Saile and Mduduzi Mdantsane leaving on loan. Now according to SABC Sport, after failing to make an impact at Richard's Bay, Mdantsane will not see his temporary stay change into a permanent one in KZN. The playmaker is now scheduled to return to Chiefs for pre-season. 'I won't say no if my technical team wants to keep him, but as things stand right now I can tell you that all loan players – including Mdantsane – are going back to their clubs at the end of the season,' said Richard's Bay owner Jomo Biyela on the Chiefs star. Even if Mdantsane returns to Chiefs, he stands little to no chance of staying for the season. Having already been rendered surplus to requirements, it's difficult to see him being apart of a rebuild under coach Nasreddine Nabi. Chiefs are expected to have a mass exodus at the at the conclusion of next month. Mdantsane is most likely to be joined by a whole host of stars out the door. Is this the right decision from the Chiefs management?

Kaizer Chiefs provide TRANSFER UPDATE on star midfielder!
Kaizer Chiefs are exploring ways to part ways with loanee Mduduzi Mdantsane. The 30-year-old midfielder, between stints at Richards Bay, Cape Town City, Baroka FC and Kaizer Chiefs, has amassed 214 topflight appearances, signifying his wealth of experience. According to reports, Sekhukhune United, which has identified AmaKhosi's reluctance to keep Mdantsane on their payroll, is monitoring the situation. 'Sekhukhune United could have the advantage of signing Mdu [Mdantsane] because Kaizer Chiefs are looking at either loaning him out or to release him permanently with his contract remaining with one year on it and this could give Sekhukhune United the chance to sign him,' SoccerLaduma revealed. 'They may wait for Chiefs to make the decision and move in or they could start talks even before the end of the season.' On the other end of the age bracket, Kaizer Chiefs have cemented their faith in 19-year-old Naledi Hlongwane with a five-year deal. 'What I can tell you is the five-year deal is the one believed to have been agreed upon by all parties,' – an insider told the publication. 'Yes, the first time it was apparently proposed for a three-year deal. But the club felt they needed to keep the striker for a long time. So that's why, finally, they came up with a five-year contract. This one is as good as done. I don't think there will be any changes now.' ZERO goals in two years: Kaizer Chiefs flop sent packing
Goals aren't the only currency for attacking midfielders. However, at a club like Kaizer Chiefs, players are judged strictly. Since a move from Cape Town City in July 2023, Mduduzi Mdantsane has failed to make the grade at Kaizer Chiefs. In 16 appearances, he failed to score a single goal and spent large periods on the sidelines. At his peak value, transfermarkt estimates that Mduduzi Mdantsane was at his most desirable in the market in February 2023. They gauged him to be worth 1.2m (R22.8 million). Now, just under two years later, they figure he's worth half that (R11.4 million). Injuries have ravaged his time at Naturena, including an unfortunate one sustained in a car accident. However, when fit, his form hasn't been to the standard expected by Chiefs. A loan spell with Richards Bay in 2024-2025 has proved to be the final nail in his Amakhosi coffin. What's next for Mdantsane? According to KickOff, Chiefs are looking at Kruger United striker Thapelo Matlhoko. 'He is one of the strikers they (Chiefs) are looking at. They are believed to have enquired about him, and they would like to have him as one of their players next season. The club is still looking at the possibility of signing different strikers to add to the team, and Thapelo (Matlhoko) is one of them,' said a source.
