New on Paramount Plus in June 2025 — all the new shows and movies to watch
Paramount Plus adds tons of new shows and movies every month, and this June is no different. Well, it's maybe a little different. The slate of new original shows and movies is very light this month. The science-fiction love story "Love Me" is the big movie hitting the streaming service this month, making its streaming debut on June 16. But aside from that, it's all about the older, licensed shows and movies that Paramount Plus is adding this month. The good news is that the movies Paramount Plus is adding to its library this month are excellent. There's "Reservoir Dogs," "No Country for Old Men," "Whiplash" and more. You could just watch Paramount Plus movies this month and be content — the list is that good. Here's everything new on Paramount Plus this month, starting with our top picks. When I say "Love Me" features an intimate cast, I'm not exaggerating. This post-apocalyptic romance movie stars just two incredible actors: Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun. This sci-fi romance takes place long into the future, and humanity has gone extinct. But when a weather buoy (Stewart) comes across a passing satellite, it becomes self-aware, declaring itself "Me" and naming the passing satellite "Iam." They then, at Me's insistence, form a friendship and develop personas based on the social media channel of an influencer named Deja and her husband Liam. Premieres June 16 on Paramount Plus The Tony Awards recognize the best in the world of Broadway theater. Leading the pack with 10 nominations are "Buena Vista Social Club," "Death Becomes Her" and "Maybe Happy Ending," all three of which are competing for Best Musical. Chris Hughes reveals health scare after finding 'small lump' on his testicles
Chris Hughes has urged other men to get themselves checked after finding a lump on his testicles. He revealed the health scare after receiving the all-clear, with his family having a history of cancer. Taking to Snapchat this afternoon, Chris wrote: 'Boys just had a check up on the balls, small lump, thankfully all clear and nothing to worry about. 'Yes because of what my family have been through, the documentary we made, I prioritise this, but keep em checked and get them looked at it be sure :) [sic]'. Chris was initially motivated to speak publicly about testicular cancer after it affected his cousin, too. The disease 'became secondary in his abdomen', and he initially missed the signs. Chris, 32, was later praised for helping to raise awareness of testicular cancer when he had an exam live on This Morning in 2018. He also had operations on his own testicles, as he recalled to hosts Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, and fronted a documentary alongside younger sibling Ben, titled Me, My Brother and Our Balls. 'It's something I wanted to do; it's something which meant something to me,' Chris said on This Morning. 'It's just been a really positive thing and it's helped a lot of people along the way, and we can't complain about that.' Chris's brother Ben found a lump after watching his examination on live TV and was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Writing on Instagram a few months later, Chris shared: 'A sad day. My brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer this lunchtime, in which we pray for a kind prognosis. a lump or swelling in part of one testicle a testicle that gets bigger discomfort or pain in your testicle or scrotum See a doctor if: you have any of the above symptoms notice symptoms that are unusual for you have symptoms that don't go away or don't improve 'He came into my room at 3am the morning after my testicular examination on tv, clearly struggling to sleep, telling me he'd found a lump and asked me if he's checking it right. To which I told him, 'Ben, it's 3am, I'll look in the morning, but if there's a lump, go and check it checked tomorrow with the doctor'. 'Today he sent me a message telling me the news, and thanking me for making him aware, else he'd never have known he had cancer.. That literally broke my heart.' He added in a powerful sign-off: 'Testicular cancer is a silent killer, men need realise this and check themselves regularly. It takes 10 seconds. Please do it. 🖤' Thankfully, younger sibling Ben was declared cancer-free after undergoing a life-saving operation. The Love Island star reflected on the ordeal in an interview with Metro, saying in 2021: 'He's a very positive person, but going through that ordeal, it knocked him back. 'With cancer, it's such a horrible thing, you question, why is it happening to me? Why am I being affected by it? But he's very positive, he's got an amazing mindset, my brother, and I respect that he can look at the positives in every situation.' 'It's not changed my views,' he said of the cancer. 'Fortunately enough, I had a fertility test and I still have a good level of sperm and active sperm, whereas my brother unfortunately doesn't. 'Testicular cancer can affect it, so you've got to look after your testicles and check them.' What Is Positive Parenting? The 4 Principles Parents Should Know
Positive parenting — many parents strive for it, but it doesn't just happen. Positive parenting is an intentional act that takes training and practice. While in a perfect world, parents would start positive parenting from their child's infancy, they often come to it after they've spent some time in crisis, said Amy McCready, founder of Positive Parenting Solutions and author of 'The 'Me, Me, Me' Epidemic.' The reality is, McCready tells is people 'get more training making chicken sandwiches' for a restaurant job then anyone receives to be parents. As a result, parents 'default to gut reactions and often respond to behavior in ways that is not helpful.' Positive parenting, she said, is 'not a trend.' It's consistent and in the middle of the more extreme gentle parenting and authoritative parenting styles. 1. Behavior Is Communication — Even the 'Bad' Kind Positive parenting, McCready says, starts with the belief that 'all behavior is a form of communication.' What we often label as 'misbehavior' is really a symptom of a deeper need or missing skill. 'Understanding the 'why' behind behavior is the first step toward changing it,' she says. Three common issues are a need for connection, a need for control, and skill deficit, according to McCready. Connection: 'A child who whines, clings, or makes 82 bedtime requests may be saying, 'I feel disconnected. I need you to be fully present with me,'' she said. Power: 'Backtalk, defiance and constant push back often signal, 'I need more age-appropriate control over my world.'' Skill Deficit: 'Tantrums and sibling fights usually stem from underdeveloped emotional regulation or problem-solving skills, not willful disobedience,' McCready tells 2. Training and Problem-Solving — Not Punishment McCready says that instead of punishing children for behaviors they haven't yet learned to manage, positive parenting focuses on teaching skills and removing avoidable triggers. 'We ask: 'What skill hasn't this child yet learned? What support is needed?' Then we train proactively and problem-solve together — rather than wait for a meltdown to punish reactively,' she says. This approach builds capability, confidence and cooperation over time. 'No matter what's happening, connection and empathy always make a difference,' McCready says. 'It's the best first step even if it doesn't completely solve the problem.' 3. It's Not Fluffy or Permissive — Kids Still Experience Consequences Positive parenting isn't about every kid getting a trophy or letting kids call the shots. 'While some gentle parenting advocates suggest avoiding consequences altogether for fear they might damage the relationship or harm a child's self-esteem,' McCready says, 'positive parenting recognizes that for kids to learn real-world responsibility, accountability and cause-and-effect, kids must experience the natural consequences of their choices.' For example, if a child consistently refuses to follow the family's rules around technology, they may lose those privileges for a period of time. If they leave their school project at home, they may receive a lower grade. McCready points out, 'consequences in positive parenting are never harmful, shame-based, or punitive. They're respectful, clearly communicated ahead of time, and used as teachable moments—not tools for control or retaliation.' 4. It's Not Just About the Child — It's Also About the Parent An important piece of positive parenting is for parents to 'shift from controlling every behavior (of their children) to learning to control themselves.' It's about calming yourself before correcting your child, McCready says. 'It helps parents understand what they can control, like their tone, their follow-through, their expectations, and what they can't, like their child's every emotional reaction.' While it's not a problem to have a positive accrual ratio, indicating a certain level of non-cash profits, a high accrual ratio is arguably a bad thing, because it indicates paper profits are not matched by cash flow. That's because some academic studies have suggested that high accruals ratios tend to lead to lower profit or less profit growth.
